I'm getting a little tired of Carpool Karaoke being recommended and then others who visit my house and see it ask to watch it. Plus some other stuff occasionally.

It seems to be showing up when I start kodi. Then it will come off when i force stop kodi. Happens with es file explorer too

I have a nexus player without a remote and I'm looking for alternative remotes that have a microphone that is compatible with voice search.

I believe the Nexus Player remotes aren't being sold anymore. The Shield remote is being sold in Canada, but for $69, almost the price of the Nexus Player (a cheaper alternative would be great). I also don't think the Mi box remote is being sold separately (the one with voice search).

Any confirmed working alternatives?

I had a Windows PC connected to my TVs for a number of years, and have always enjoyed having a full-on web browser.

I've been looking at possibly replacing this with an AndroidTV (like the Shield) or maybe a cheap black box (such as the Minix Neo U1, or any of the others).

I have a few questions about what they can do. I've searched around for answers to these questions, but no luck.

• I assume both of these types of boxes have full on, Chrome for Android browsers. Do they generally work and perform well? (At 4k?)

• Can you have multiple users logged into Chrome at once, like on the PC? (I assume not)

• Can you have multiple Google accounts on the box, and easily switch between them?

• Do regular android apps work well on these devices? I'm thinking of Facebook, Relay for Reddit, things like that. I know that they're made for a touch interface, but I assume that can be implemented using a mouse or the like?

The app is a great idea but the only repo I have is the rekodi and just wondered what else is out there?

I have a Phillips series 7600 TV and I'm trying to log on my own account, but it's been locked on my brothers account.

His account doesn't have premium, so I'm stuck at the choose your subscription page.

I can't log out, so I need to remove smart lock. I tried reinstalling the app but that didn't work.

Anyone have any experience setting up the Mi Box at an external location and using SPMC plus the Emby Add-on to connect to a home server. What minimum internet speed would be recommended at the external site? I ran into some issues trying to stream from my server and think my girlfriend's internet connection is too slow. She is using the $15 Time Warner internet package which I think is 3 down 1 up. My server is located at my house on a FIOS 75/75 connection and don't have issues streaming from other locations. SPMC error said cannot Direct stream (Media title.MKV) Any tweaks I can try while I wait for the USB to Ethernet adapter to arrive?

When I use Kodi, it loads up and a circle appears on the right side with the thumbnail image. This usually stays on for a long time, even when I'm using other apps. Has anyone seen this and do you have any advice?

Hey, I'm having trouble getting surround sound off my MiBox.

I use HDMI ARC and Netflix only gets Stereo 2.0. Has anyone tried the S/PDIF and successfully getting 5.1 surround?

Also I enjoyed how Fire TV only enables 4K when it needs to eg Netflix, Youtube 4K etc. so other HD content can be upscaled by the TV.

Since the update to Nougat on the Nexus Player the Crackle app does not work. Get an error message when trying to open. Its been confirmed by many users.

Is Crackle working on other Android TV machines with Nougat? I'm not sure if others are up to Nougat but if they are am curious if Crackle works there.

Just purchased a Philips 55PUS6401 and i want to install some APK outside the play store (all 4 streaming, ITV hub)

Is there a way to do this? At the moment there is no option to allow install from unknown sources, the option is missing

I've seen mixed reviews on people using the Mi box for HEVC/x265 playback of 4K content but what about just HEVC 1080p files?

I have a fair amount of these files due to the much smaller file size and they all play without issue on each of my Nvidia Shields but I've tried a few other Android boxes and a Nexus player with no luck. Some of the files in question are 10bit and some are not.

I know the Mi is significantly under powered compared to the Shield but I'm looking at for a simpler bedroom box that would still play these file types. I love the Shield but am looking for something sub $200 for this room.

Is it the same as plugging in my usb and installing the file? or using file explorer? Not really sure

Bought the MiBox, have had it for about a week now. Installed apps, configured it, Kodi, the whole 9. I try to use it one day, and it wont boot, nothing. No signs of life at all. I've tried different TVs, different HDMI cords, different power ports, nothing works.

I'd love to just return it, because I didn't love it, it was kind of slow and stuff, but I fear the next person that buys this from the Open Box section of Walmart open it up, and be able to use all of my accounts and logins.

Any advice? I'd be open to either getting it to work, or just enough to wipe it to factory resets. Thanks.

Edit: I've searched all over, and I seem to be the only person in the world that has this issue, it's extremely strange. No one else has had it not start up. I'm so clueless. The remote does nothing, it doesn't respond at all to anything I do. But my TV recognizes that something was plugged in, not sure what that means.

It's still on 5.1.1 Anyone know what changed?

Mi Box is available only in China and US. New version of the Fire TV Stick only US. What's the alternative in Europe?
