Mi Box bluetooth controller woes

Hey all, got my Mi Box today. I paired it with my Nyko Pad Pro. Then I put NES.emu and SNES9x on it and fired up some games...

The input lag is horrible. I mean there's "it's annoying but I can deal with it" lag, and then there's unplayable lag, and it's pretty close to unplayable. On the order of a few tens of milliseconds.

My question is, is this a function of the Mi Box, or my (fairly old) Nyko Pad, or is this just a fact of life with android tv? Would getting a newer controller like the NES30 Pro make any kind of difference? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

UPDATE: So yeah, it turns out that the Nyko Pad sucks, and I'm like the last person on earth to find out. I busted out my old 8-bitty controller, a game pad meant to work with IOS and I thought, "surely this won't work." But NES.emu and SNES9x support controllers that work in iCade mode, and what do you know, it works great. There's still a bit of lag, but nothing I couldn't live with, and I was able to perform Shoryukens in SSF2 just fine.

Still, I'd like to get something a little more modern. Any recommendations? I'm looking for any reason to pull the trigger and buy the NES30 Pro.

Mi Box remote doesn't have a play/pause button

How am I supposed to pause something without a dedicated play pause button on the remote. Lot of apps don't even have a pause button on screen. Also when you press home button to jump to home screen while something is playing, you can't stop it without the play/pause button. Now you have to go back to app and then come back to home screen.

Doesn't Google enforce a remote layout for these boxes?

Mi Box rant - implement fucking HDMI-CEC to turn my TV off when I put the box to sleep

What year is it [current year]? Why do I need two remotes to use my TV? My current gen Apple TV wakes my TV and puts it to sleep - why cant the Mi Box do this?

That was a huge reason I returned my Shield TV - HDMI-CEC is a standard - there is a white paper on how the technology works/how to implement it, not following it absolutely unacceptable at this point. The Mi Box turns the TV on if its off, why cant it turn it off (optionally) when I put the box to sleep?

Can someone forward this along to Hugo Boss or whoever the guy is who is the america face for the company.

Stream audio from Android TV To Android Phone?

So I have an Nvidia Shield TV, and the controller gets audio streamed to it directly so you can listen via headphones. I really don't want to buy the remote just and I don't want to lug the controller with me.

There's a pretty handy Android Remote App for my S7, I was wondering if are there any apps or anyway to get only the audio from my Shield TV to my phone instead?

Just Set Up My Mi Box And Harmony Hub

I just picked up a Mi Box from my local Walmart. Woohoo, a new toy to distract me from writing a paper. Anyway, just wanted to mention my experience hooking it up to my Harmony Hub.

I had to add the device manually. I entered "Xiaomi" in the manufacturer field (obviously), and "Mi Box" in the model number field. The Harmony automatically recognized it as a Xiaomi Media Player and added it. I must say, using the Harmony remote to control it is fast. I mean no noticeable lag compared to the Mi Box controller, and honestly it may be a millisecond faster. Full disclosure, the Mi Box and Harmony Hub are placed right next to each other.

I had been afraid it wouldn't work so well, and I would have to find a solution using HDMI CEC, but that wasn't necessary. The only thing I'm missing out on by not using the Mi Box remote is voice search, but I don't use that much anyway, plus I can always use my phone for that.

All in all the setup went flawlessly, and I am loving my Mi Box. Sorry, I can't test 4K content, because I don't have a monitor for it, but 1080p everything looks great so far. Let me know if I can answer any questions.

MiBox Multi-Zone Friendly (Audio Outputs)

Got my MiBox and the first thing I wanted to test turned out to be a total success.

HDMI Audio and Analouge Output are both active at the same time.

Why? My Pioneer AVR only plays analouge sources for Zone2/Zone3 inputs.. so its required to play pandora/plex/etc throughout the house.. Just used a 3.5mm Stereo to RCA Cable

To get the same functionality out of a Nexus Player or ShieldTV required $$$ for HDMI audio splitter, cables, etc..

ps: confirmed this usb to ethernet adapter works fine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00484IEJS/

Is there any Android TV devices supporting Twitch and YouTube on 1080p 60fps?

Looking to upgrade my Chromecast 2nd gen to an Android TV device. Question per title. I'm looking at the Xiaomi Mi Box, but is there any device proven to run Twitch and YouTube on 1080p 60fps?

Also, does the Twitch app on ATV support manually changing quality? Chromecast doesn't allow casting with manual quality and that's annoying.

Basically we are thinking about cutting the cord at our house and just having internet. We have a grandma living with us, how difficult would it be for her to adjust to using this? I have never used it before either so I'm not sure how difficult it is to use. Also what would be the best boxes to get and is it best to order them off of amazon or other sites?

Shield TV -Here's a better way to move Netflix to regular apps section

http://www.mediafire.com/file/0ez9s04n3hbuuo8/Netflix_ATV.apk

This app is a shortcut to launch Netflix and it's in the regular app section. It doesn't actually move anything it just creates a shortcut.

The reason this is better because it leaves the Shield Hub alone. I use Gamestream to play my PC games on my Shield so I didn't want to disable it.

Use http://atvlauncher.trekgonewild.de/index.php to create your own app shortcuts.
