Just wondering how I can use a HDD with me NP? I've seen reference to having to use a specific app from chainfire, a modded bootloader, and a full on new rom. What do I have to do?

pretty much what the title says, ES File Explorer is the first thing I see when I turn my TV on, about to uninstall it, unless someone knows why its doing it, and hopefully how to make it stop.

hi everyone so i'm trieng to convert showbox modded apk over to android tv with this tool but i keep getting error,

apk2tv\temp\AndroidManifest could not be found

and i can't seem to fix it tried removing the temp.apk also tried looking for the temp folder but couldn't find it.

I recently purchased a shield TV and received a promo code for the Talos principle. I redeemed the code through the link in the email but I don't know what to do now. Where do I download the game?

Anyone else have the Nvidia Shield player with a 4K TV? I just purchased mine this week since I have a 4K TV.

It looks like the interface on it isn't displaying in 4K. Text, images, etc just look soft. Like it's outputting 1080p and having to upscale.

Keep in mind, I'm taking about the home screen.. Not streaming video.

Been having this issue for a while where every now and then the home screen will come up in the middle of watching something. Anyone else run into this?

Box is a nvidia shield if that makes any difference.

I've a 2tb hard drive that I'm wanting to attach to my TV and use Mizuu to organise my TV and video, I'm wondering if its possible to Torrent directly on the TV and save directly to the USB HDD. Any thoughts? Thanks

Go to the setup menus and then "About Device", under Revision, it should read 5.1. If you triple click on the revision (I was using the remote), it will start the hidden game. I played using the remote and must have spent 5 to 10 minutes on it. Could. Not. Get. One. M'fn. Point.

Googled around and didn't see any mention of a hidden game.

Edit: This was the Nvidia shield console for the TV. I was using the free remote that I got thanks to all you good people who posted the sales.

Basically, what are some good media apps to play videos off of a hard drive and is there some kind of file explorer app compatible with the player so that I can dork around with what files are where?

Failing that, is there some easy, fool-proof guide to make the player into a somewhat more basic android device so that I can install other apps on it? And would it mess with bluetooth settings?

Has anyone seen a working All4 app? I think I remember hearing something a while back about it coming to Sony Android TV's but didn't hear anything since.

When I go to install it from the web play store it says it's not compatible with my Nvidia Shield :(

I have the Sony XBR49 830c. Turning the TV on/off doesn't reboot android, how do I do that? Sometimes things like cast just stop working and this would be the quickest fix.

I was using the "Phoenix" addon to watch UK TV Live but it seems to have disappeared from Phoenix :(

At least once a day Netflix will get a ui error and say something about being deactivated and quit. The app will immediately display the error if I open it again. The only way I can get it to work again is rebooting the device.

TLDR: Home Button > About > Reset TV

I woke up to Netflix giving me an error message ending in - 100. After 30 minutes of searching and following recommended steps like

• Reset router
• Check different connection
• Uninstall updates
• Uninstall completely
• Clear cache
• roll eyes at all fixed comments without explanation

The only option that ended up fixing it was going through the about menu and restarting the TV.

Hopefully this will save at least 1 person the trouble I went through.

So, some clarification from Nexus Players users, or others who may know, on what Marshmallow will allow us to do once its out on the ShieldTV.

I'm wanting to use an external drive that has my media loaded up.

1.) Will Marshmallow allow me to write onto that drive within Android? Say, if I took transferred files from my pc to the shield on an sd card, could I move them onto the USB HDD from there? Also, would it require me to "lock" that HDD to the Shield, or could it still be used with other devices?

2.) Could I transfer files from my PC to that external HDD that is hooked up to the ShieldTV? It seems like this should be possible, but I haven't found a way yet (apparently not possible on 5.1)

I thought that the above things were going to be possible initially, but the more I read about it...it seems that you'll have to format the drive to be "tied" to the ShieldTV...which, is far from ideal for my use-case.

It also seems that 2 isn't possible either.

Can anyone offer any insight/assistance?
