Hey all

So I held off buying the Gamepad for the Nexus Player for ages because I didn't feel it was worth £35. Anyway, I just got one on eBay for £25....... Just downloaded and played Sword of Xolan, pretty fun!

What games (or Apps) make best use of the Gamepad? I'm going to sideload some emulators for sure, but what in the Play Store do you recommend? :)

Apologies as I am not technologically savvy. My husband surprised me with a brand-new android TV box. However when I try to watch movies on it using prime wire (Kodi) I often get halfway through the movie and then it stops working. Is this just a problem that happens with Android or is there some way to fix this? I feel like I need an Android Tv for Dummies book. The box is MXQ if that matters.

Bought a Sony Bravia KD-65X8000C in China, it has an Andorid OS that does not have access to most American Apps that are banned in china, such as YouTube etc, any way I can install a custom OS or root my tv to access the Google PlayStore in America?

Any help would be appreciated, first experience with an Android device

Wild Blood, Shadowgun 2, N.O.V.A 3 freedom, MC4 and 5, Ravensword Shadowlands, Blitz Brigade, EA Real Racing (can i use the stick to shift?), and Snowboard Party. These apps have all had trouble on my mbox and are my justification for going ahead with the shield how's your experience with these apps on the shield tv?

Ive only run into a few small things really, but was wondering if anyone else has encountered them or anything else for me to watch out for.

1. During the summer if i exited out of plex or youtube, a "currently playing" entry in the recommendations list would persist with the sound levels showing as if it were still active. Havent seen it recently i dont think.

2. Cant put shield to sleep. If i select it the screen will blank out for a moment, but it comes back to life after a ffew seconds and the settings gear icon will be highlighted. This is something recent. Can anyone chime in if its even needed to put it to sleep? I think its supposed to do it on its on affter a few hours anyway and roku doesnt sleep so im not thinking this is that big of a deal.

3. Not specific to this sub kinda but its something i only notice on the shield.. In plex at times i notice artifacting in the picture but it seems to only happen if the picture pans vertically. I looked into this sometime ago but the suggestions to correct it didnt work. enabling direct play i think or disabling it.

And of course comcast doesnt support the new streaming apps :/ just wanted to rant about that.

I got a Nexus Player, mostly excited to use it as an emulator. I install retroarch, controller doesn't work. Oh ok. I'll just use an OTG cable and a mouse to set up the inputs. Once I've done that, I set the menu driver to xmb, so I can control it easier. Quit, waiting to see a new interface where I can play N64, and what? Everything I did reset, as if I just reinstalled the program. I check to see if I could load my saved config, and I get a Directory not found error. Ok, I go to settings ans realize the config directory is set to an imaginary location probably /data/data/com.retroarch/config, which doesn't exist. I try making a new config folder, and save and load a config. Then I quit, and wait to see what happens. It reset the config directory I set it to, back to that imaginary folder (Which it can not save to when I make it in that location.) I've been at it for a few hours, and I don't know what to do. I've reinstalled multiple times.

I've done some searching but haven't found an answer. I got an HDHomeRun and I can watch channels on my Nexus Player, but I can't find a way to stop them. Play/pause does nothing, and hitting Home just leaves the channel playing in the background. Is there any way to stop live channels?

It hasn't worked on my Nexus Player in forever. The reviews show it doesn't work for anyone else either.

Has anyone successfully upgraded to android 6.0 on their ADT-1?

Hi there, i have a 55" UHD LG Smart TV running WebOS, as the title says i'm tired of WebOS and want Android TV. Is there anyway to wipe my tv of WebOS and port Android TV on it? Any links/articles/videos would help lots thanks! :)

Hey guys does anyone have any suggestions for a alternative remote for the Shield TV. I'm looking for something that I can control all my components with (TV, AV Receiver, Shield TV). Was looking for something that is BT (for the Shield) and IR for the rest.

Anything like that out there?

What are some things I can do via Dropbox? My friend is very technically challenged, but I'm sending him a MXQ box for Christmas and was wondering if I find new ad on could I send them to the box and get him to install it?

I am using the Moonlight app to stream my PC games to my Nexus Player and I was wondering if I could use the Xbox One Wireless controller with the adapter on my Nexus Player

If you're interested, I sideloaded the Nvidia Shield Hub app from the Shield Tablet onto my Nexus Player (using apkmirror), and lo and behold the Hub from the Nvidia Shield console appeared on my homescreen! For those of you who subscribe to Gamestream or who want to push the Nexus's gaming capabilities a little further, give this a try!

I've been doing research for about 4 days and now I haven't come to a conclusion on which android stick to buy. I currently have a smart tv that works fine, so I only really need an android stick for kodi. I have been running an htpc for years, and I'm tired of the bulk. I just want my tv on the wall with nothing near it. I've gone back and forth between fire stick, shield, and nexus player to no end. The only thing that holds me back from the nexus is it's size. Can it be hidden behind the tv? I'd have gone with the shield except for the price. I'd have gone with the fire stick except I'm worried about Amazon cracking down on root access and I'm not a big fan of Amazon's skin on android (with the Android version on my friend's nook anyway). Stock android is greatly preferred. Ease of rooting is even better!

Ideally, I want something that can be or is hidden by nature of its size, and usb powered so I don't have a power cable to worry about. Obviously ports, expansion slots, ram, storage, etc, are all important. Price isn't really an issue with the form factor I would like to buy into, but sub $100 is preferred.

At this point I'm really leaning towards the nexus, now that it's only $50.

Any other solutions?
