Last year I was planning to get the TCL 6 Series Google TV, but due to the software bugs I decided not to go for it. My question is that are those bugs still around or there have been software updates to fix them?

When I am using headphones (blueetooth or wired) the sound is pretty low even on 100%. When I am using those headphones on PC or mobile, the sound is high enough. Is there some app for boosting my sound? I know that I can boost the sound from KODI app, but i would like to increase it for my streaming apps like Netflix, HBO MAX, Disney+. I know I can play those apps from KODI addons, but not all of them have 4K support.

I have this one app that does not fit the screen on my Chromecast with Google tv

Do you know how to force it to fit the screen? the app still work perfectly just want it to fit the screen.

I had a firestick for over a year, had updates blocked. Then nfl came back and I wanted to use prime video app for the first time in forever. Next thing I knew, Amazon took away my launcher and forced an update just by getting prime video reinstalled and putting itself as a system app. In protest, I decided to check this 20 dollar holler. All I have to say is wow! I have magisk , and I have all the short cut buttons reprogrammed. Like YouTube button is changed to open smart tube next as an example. I freaking love this thing. I’m no expert with adb. But I learned a whole lot in the process of getting root and removing bloatware and .sh script for the hard coded remote buttons to be disabled. I also tried the lineage os unofficial rom and just had too many network bugs. Official stock recovery and rom + magisk and it’s patched boot.img were a winning combo. It’s almost like a poor man’s raspberry pi for being so versatile yet so simple.

Ok my Phillips my TV emits this high pitch squeal sound when the tv is off. When on it stops. This makes no sense to me. It's an Android TV. Is there something I can do in a standby setting where this won't happen or do I need to return it since it's within the return date?

I already tried button mapper app but the volume keys somehow continue to only control the volume.

Hi there! I'm trying to get to be able to use either the steam link app or moonlight to stream games in my home from my desktop. My connection says that it's fine, and everything works perfectly until I launch a game, at which point the game basically runs in slow motion. Streaming the same things to my phone doesn't have the same issue, so I suppose it has something to do with the chromecast. Any help?

I got a cheap 4k android tv and it's the latest native android tv version but I wanna disable hdr for Netflix and other apps. Also the tv is a android tv not using a stick or whatever.

I know it sucks browsing on the android tv, but please suggest some browsers.

Hi folks, do any other Sony Bravia owners know how to access data for video signals to the TV? For example, LG TV's can display a little panel showing the image resolution, refresh rate and the HDR standard it's using.

So just like other TVs, Acer TVs also have the setting enabled by default which prevents it from being connected to the internet after turning it off. This is a huge pain in A if you want to do automations or start your TV with google assistant or alexa because it will show up as offline.

For other TVs, you can change this setting by going into the TV's android settings section and turning off Eco mode. I checked everywhere but did not find this setting on Acer TV.

After almost a month, I found where the setting is located. It's not in the android settings menu like other TVs. What you have to do:

1. On your TV remote, press the settings button. This will open the settings for your TV, and not the android settings.

2. Go to System -> Power

3. Wake on Network -> On , Network Standby -> On

And done! Your Acer TV will be connected to wifi even after turning it off.

I finally have a tv with hdmi input in my bedroom 🎉 so I wanted to try out my old streaming boxes. Sadly my 2019 MeCool (previously factory reset when I was planning to sell it) cannot install anything current, so it’s basically useless. My Apple TV gen 3 won’t respond to its remote (was always spotty), so I can’t even connect to WiFi to update it. Even if use Ethernet to update to whatever tvOS it could have before it was deemed “vintage”, it still needs a new remote.

So I looked on here for something in the same price range as buying a new Apple Remote and saw good things about the ONN box, but it’s out of stock in every local store and online 🤦🏻‍♀️

So is there anything else in the $20-30 range that is in stock?

Hello, I've recently bought a used TV that has a built in FireTV from a friend. But unfortunately I broke the remote and now I'm stuck with the app for controlling the TV. However to turn on the TV I always have to use the power button cause it disconnects itself from the wifi after an hour or so... Also the app sometimes disconnects itself from the TV which is also a hassle...It also doesn't have any casting option which is also a big problem for me... I'm planning to buy a Chromecast 4k... But can I use Chromecast's remote to at least turn on/off the fire tv?

The text and image quality of UI seems as if it was 480p! When I launch any of the app, logos and texts are so low res too. Also, when i start a movie - everything seems fine - until subtitles show up - all messed up again. Anyone has the same experience? Thanks
