Does anyone know of a way I could use the device without paying? I really LOVE the remote but I can't pay a subscription. If not does anyone know of an alternative remote?

I think my MeCool KM6 Deluxe TV-Box just broke down, so I need a new one :(

Hey all, I was hoping to get some recommendations for an Android streaming box.

I currently have a Sony XE9005 TV and while it's mostly great I've run into the problem that the built in ethernet only allows speeds of 100 Mbps. While this is great for most things I do have some high bitrate content that needs higher speeds that this. Even with wi-fi I can only get speeds of around 150 Mbps and from what I've seen online I need a minimum of 200.

From what I've been able to research the Nvidia Shield TV Pro does pretty much everything I want. It's got giga speed ethernet, allows for Dolby Vision and Atmos (I can't utilise this yet but it's nice to have for futureproofing) and shows content in 4K HDR.

The biggest issue I have with this though is that it's quite expensive and it seems a major reason is the gaming side of the box. I have zero interest in this as I have a Playstation and it does what I need.

Are there any alternatives that match the Nvidia's utility but without the gaming side of things?

Is there a relatively cheap remote control that works on a Shield and TV (2015) and GCwGTV?

Is there a way to send a text/message to TV and have it display on fullscreen even when not connected to the same WiFi but probably with the same Google account?

e.g Can the Xiaomi TV’s (or any other Android TV on sale at Singapore) browser remember username/passwords after logging into a website?

I have a Mecool KM2 Plus (Android TV version 11) with optical SPDIF audio output connected to a Sony Sound System with Dolby Digital/DTS decoder support. When the HDMI output is connected to my TV, 5.1 audio passthrough works fine, to HDMI as well as to SPDIF. When I select go trough SPDIF connector the SPDIF sound is only PCM stereo.

I configured the supported sound formats manually in the sound menu, but that does not help, it seems the SPDIF output only works in passthrough if the connected HDMI device supports it.

Is there support from Mecool?

I just got a TCL Google TV and I'm not able to stream 4k Videos in any browser I have tried. Apps like Netflix, YouTube etc work fine, but if I'm in a browser trying to set the video quality on any site to 4K it stops working. Is there any browser that supports this or a workaround?

Hi there. As in the subject, I need a device that is capable of playing 4K video files smoothly via a USB drive or an external HDD. Nvidia shield seems to be the gold standard, but it has been released for a quite long time, besides it is a pricey device. Is anyone aware of any alternative, that you have tried yourself and know for sure will work? I see a new NOKIA device (Nokia streaming box 8000), and a HUMAX device (A1). Thanks in advance.

Any ideas on why I can’t install TiviMate on my formuler box? Can’t update Plex etc. did just download TiviMate companion though. Not familiar with Android. Have added payment info etc

Does anyone know of an STN Beta alternative?, I’m sick of STN breaking all the time, I am currently on v16.19 but videos constantly buffer, I can’t skip through videos (if I skip just once video locks up and I have to back out of video and replay it), sponser block not working, after video ends it doesn’t auto play next video, the whole thing is a mess

My internet speed is good as I recently upgraded to full fibre

I cannot express my hate with text. Nobody EVER designs a UI compliant to overscan. Nobody makes videos that work(see any notes in any videos), AND NOT EVERYONE HAVE A BLEEDING-EDGE TV! Google, Amazon is doing better than you. Wake up, you are not alone in this market. "Breath new life into old TVs" Breath-in-MY-ASS! I'm throwing my CCwGTV into my "pile of tech nobody uses" until we get a new TV.

I have installed duo and connected a logitec c920s pro to my mi box 3 (US)

the problem is that that the cam has no better resolution than the old 720 logitec golf ball cam I picked out of the Best Buy E cycle bin. Both cams work and both cams have the same potato resolution, when I go into options there are a whopping 2 choices for cam resolution, 480 and you guessed it , 480!

I also have a CC with Google TV 4k , and a tivo stream but I have not tested it with those yet ,but I am assuming it will be similar results, also I have not tested it in a few months, maybe 5 or 6

so I am asking if there is any work around to get cam resolution above 480, is there a way to install camera drivers that support 720 or 1080 to the android TV box itself or maybe by sideloading the phone version of duo ?

this is really just ridiculous that they would even release such utter trash

even the shittiest of phones from 8 years ago can make duo calls at a decent resolution

I've got a hub plugged into my CCwGTV with a usb3 external ssd attached. I've moved most of my apps over to it so there is more room for the system and cache. The problem now is that upon restart the home app icons are all rearranged once the drive finally connects.

Anyone else experiencing this or have any suggestions to remedy the issue?

This seems to be a thing you can do but at the moment all i see is the ability to add child accounts and sign in with other google accounts.

FWIW I am using a brand new TCL TV, everything else seems to work completely fine (better than i expected tbh) just when I add another google account it just appears under accounts but cannot be fully switched to, I'd like to do this for fairly obvious reasons and from what I'm reading this was added a few months ago as a back end google feature and not particularly client dependant however I have seen mention that TCL sets have support for the feature.

TV is fully up to date as well and I signed in with the Google Home app on first setup. I really don't want to mixup the google accounts just want a fully separate login. It's the one thing keeping the experience from being a 10/10.

I am getting a non-smart television. I want to be able to watch my streaming services (Disney+, Netflix, and Amazon Prime) and surf Youtube without ads. through the use of an Adblocker. Is there any Android/Roku box that has what I need?

I want to start by saying I love the onn box when it actually works.

It feels snappy and it's only 20$ but the overheating issue is getting on my nerves! I've completely taken it out of its shell in hopes of preventing it but it continues to happen after leaving apps like Hulu! It's so annoying I want to try to add a bigger heatsink or something but I'm just not sure what to exactly do to it.

Are there any other alternatives that can be rooted and still have access to the certifications that the onn box has? Is there any news of an even more beefed up version coming out? I would gladly pay 40$ for something that has a bit more power and better heat management.

Either model? Curious if anyone has seen any leaks or previews.

i've been trying for months to find one but i've come up empty. i'm trying to get it as a present to my parents.

i don't want to use a hdhomerun or something because i want to to as simple as possible to try and avoid it breaking because the homerun decided to do something stupid.

i also don't want it to use a third party app if possible, if it can integrate into the live tv channels app then i don't mind but i wish to avoid it if i can.

Is there an App you can install on your phone that will let you use a keyboard on your phone to perform this task?

We tried searching for "google tv remote" but the only apps were literally a GUI of a remote control, without a keyboard. And these had ads.
