I'm setting up a shield for my parents, and want to keep it all as simple as possible, using Live Channels for their DVR. It's working great, however it seems that in Australia, it cannot gather any EPG data, so it's quite unusable right now with the Network DVR tuner.

Do you know any way I can purchase EPG data and use it within Live Channels? Or any other way that I can use DVR with their HDHomeRun Tuner within the Live Channels app? Does the HDHomeRun DVR service work outside their own app?

I just got a second Mibox for my house, I set it up just like my first box, updated it to oreo, etc., but for some reason the google assistant doesn't work in the same way. Both give the same answer when I ask about the weather, but when I want to control some of my smart bulbs, or run a routine, it only works in my old box, the new box gives me a search result.

I just cant find what I'm missing and is driving me crazy.

I did install 2179 but the mic from the remote is disabled. So google assistant doesn't work. Works just fine with android tv remote app from phone. Also it seems that vpn is disabled also. Adguard and blokada don't seem to filter ads anymore. When i was on 2175 ota i didn't have these issues. Is there a way to revert to one of the previous builds. I found some references on eu forum and here on reddit but no instructions. Thank you!

When I installed my new tv tomorrow morning, everything worked fine. The tv found my 5GHZ Wi-Fi without any problem, when I had to restart my router because I changed a couple of settings, the TV couldn't find my 5GHZ network anymore. I factory resetted the tv, unplugged it for a few minutes, changed the SSID and I still could not find the network. It's a philips 43PUS7303/12 with android 7

As of the last few days, anytime I run Netflix or any of the apps through the App Store, the TV itself reboots itself 10ish or so minutes into whatever it is doing. For example, I’ll be able to get 10 minutes into Netflix streaming and all of the sudden the TV will freeze and go to the Sony/Android boot up screen. This is extremely frustrating and I would really appreciate some advice. Thanks!

I’m looking into getting a smaller smart tv and would like the option to be able to add APK files to add apps that aren’t available to download. I’m thinking if they have the google play store I can use ESFile explorer.

Anyone help would be greatly appreciated.

I finally upgraded to Oreo on my shield. I don't love it but I will get used to it. One complaint though is that the game row is now the GeForce gaming platform rather than the game row from the previous OS.

I liked having shortcut to my own games and more control on there. Hope Nvidia or Google gives the option to customize the game row more.

I am using the hue Ambilight app on my Shield. It is great when using YouTube as the comor match the screen. The issue is you need to select the lights (with a checkbox) and click the button start Ambilight). On the old Shield os this worked great but in the Oreo update when I back out of it it turns off the app.

I would like to have this turn on and start when the shield turns on. Is this possible since it needs the button to be pressed?

Had a Roku 3. Worked flawlessly. Sold it for a shield after hearing people sing its praises. It won't play YT for more than a few minutes without freezing. Clearing the cache does nothing. Clearing the data does nothing. Uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. Reverting back to the default version does nothing.

The main reason I bothered upgrading was to get YouTube in 2k or 4k.

HOW THE FUCK CAN I FIX THIS.

This stupid box is trash. Why the hell did I get rid of my roku. It worked just fine. I don't give a shit about anything else this thing is supposedly capable of if it can't even handle YouTube.

Out of the box it was 6.3 and I immediately upgraded to 7.0. Is that the problem? Is this fucking oreos fault?

Has Google released any information about what to expect from ATV Pie? I can't seem to find info online.

How to have categories in the live channel app?

It seems that most video files I try to play on my AndroidTV have an audio/subtitle delay of about 750ms. I've tried different players (like VLC, Archos...), I've tried running the file from USB, from SMB server (through X-plore, since I could never manage to open a shared folder straight from a video player app), tried different file formats, and there's ALWAYS this delay, no matter what. (Always? Sometimes I don't notice this, but maybe the delay is there.) The delay is not present when I run the video from my PC. Also, I don't get delays when I watch videos on Netflix, for example.

Any ideas? I know I could use, say, VLC, to adjust the delays, but it's really annoying to do this for every single file I open. Any idea of what might be causing this? Is there a fix or a more definitive work-around?

I don't think I'm getting gigabit speeds from my NVIDIA Shield although I'm sure I'm using Cat5e cables, and a gigabit router (NETGEAR R7000), and Gigabit switches from Netgear. I pay for 100Mbps down but I should be getting more on LAN right? Is there an app or a way to test my LAN speed? On my main PC Windows says I have a 1.0Gbps connection. When I transfer files the speed is 10MB/s or 5MB/s, even over FTP. I feel like it's my cables but I want to double check.

Hey guys, I'm looking for the apk of AT&T Watch TV for Fire TV to sideload on the Mi Box. Chromecasting from the app on my phone has no audio so wanted an app that I could use directly.

I side loaded the fireTV directv now app a few months back onto my Shield and it worked fine but now it’s requiring me to update it and then it opens the Amazon app but when I try to install the update it says there’s an issue with payment or something. Anyone have this issue lately??
