So I got a mibox the other day. (Updated to Oreo. No issues :P )

I am using it with a computer monitor and the color space is wrong. The monitor can be set to "Limited RGB" which fixes it. Or I can kludge it by tinkering with gamma and contrast, but the ideal would be for the mibox to actually output full RGB to begin with.

The color settings under Display/Resolution does not seem to do the trick.

Is there some kind of hidden settings or hacks one can pull to get full color output?

All new shiny things come with some minor bugs or limitations on release.

There are a couple of annoyances I've experienced after upgrading to Oreo (And executing a factory reset).

Installing an app through the desktop Play Store is not an option (Error: your device is not compatible). Could be a measurement from Google starting with Oreo TV.

Using any key on a physical keyboard pops the on-screen keyboard up, even after disabled all input methods except for gboard (one keyboard must be enabled, switch greyed out. didn't disable it through app settings yet, will update later). This could be fixed with an update later on.

Good thing though, ES explorer (both handset and tv variant) supports sharing through Lan, so sideloading APKs (Firefox 61 for now) is no problem.

Now that Oreo is really a thing, maybe we should keep track of what can take advantage of it? So far I've got the following (Skipping the usual suspects).

• Haystack TV
• Sling
• AccuWeather
• NFL
• CBS

Kinda dissapointed in the NFL implementation, it just gives you top stories, not favorite teams. Sling is great though, favorite shows channel, DVR channel, and favorite channels channel. That's the way to do it IMHO. Haystack is pretty good too, you can even add entries to the Play Later list, but it doesn't kick you back it after that video, Haystack keeps you in their app on the same playlist.

I just got upgraded from 7.0.1 (I was on the preview program) and now I can't cast to the Shield. Anyone else experiencing this?

Looking for a little help with this issue. I can't seem to install apps through the Aptoide TV app. I click install on the app I want, it downloads, but then it just loops back. I think the issue is because Aptoide TV isn't in the list of permissions for Unknown App Source Installation, but I can't seem to add it either. Any tips to get it to show up?

Now that more people have Oreo, lets talk about the new Channels feature. What apps are supporting it best? What are your favorite channels? What apps aren't supporting it at all? What channels do you want to see added?

From what I have seen:

• Sling TV's "My Channels": I like this channel implementation a lot. It shows a tile for each channel you have marked as a favorite, indicating what is currently airing
• Plex: Decent use, seems to basically be the On Deck stuff but for Plex Home users, keep in mind its user specific; it will show content for the last user to use the Plex app on the device

Someone in another thread mentioned YouTube added a subscriptions channel but its currently broken; I would definitely love for this one to function 100%.

I thought the channel previews were supposed to play when you hover over them in Oreo? I am not experiencing this on my SHield or Mibox. For example hovering over a youtube preview on the homescreen does nothing. The Live channels previews look like they are trying to load, but do nothing. Am I missing something?

I;m getting a freezing up issue when watching video. Audio stutters, picture stops and I can't exit the screen. This is happening with Youtube and Kodi. I have to restart the box

I was wondering if there is any good android TV box with multiple HDMI inputs, besides of the HDMI output for the TV.

The possibilities for this are exciting, to say the least. You could extend the number of devices plugged to your TV, use PIP with any console blue-ray or whatever. Not to mention all the apps that could benefit on that, besides of being able to change input using Google Home commands etc.

As far as media managing goes, this seems like the last thing needed for you never touching your TV remote again. As long as you have a TV box like that, your TV is nothing more than a monitor.

I know one or two models of Chinese cheap box, with crappy tablet UI, but is there any good quality one with the real Android TV?

So, after updating to oreo I am unable to cast anything from my phone or my google home to the mibox 3. Before update it used to work seamlessly. Things tried: 1.Reboot. 2.Clear chromecast data and forcestop. 3.Factory reset mibox 3.

I'm out of ideas.Can someone help? Is this an isolated issue or can someone check if this problem is just a bug in the update?
