The Sony Android TV amazon app shows all the content but nothing plays. The service is available in Canada for awhile now.

So I'm on my second Mi box now and both had/have the same issue: Upon initial setup, I was able to insert either one of my NTFS flash drives into the USB port to side load APK's without any problems. Now, upon inserting a flash drive, nothing happens. No pop-ups, nothing shows in ES-File Explorer, no lights on my flash drive illuminate to indicate power... nothing. I even tried the USB wireless adapter for my Logitech mouse (which worked fine) and that doesn't work either. Here's what I've tried so far:

-Factory reset
-Tried using NTFS/FAT32/ExFAT
-Exchanged my Mi box for another one and the same problem happened after system updates.

I'm not all that familiar with the Android system, so I looked at the running system processes and apps and couldn't see anything that was disabled that would prevent USB access.

Any ideas on how to restore USB functionality?

Android TV has built up a pretty good base of apps but finding them by categories is impossible.

Why is there only 4 categories? Media, Music, News and Utilities are not enough.

Even the few categories available are missing tons of proper apps or have apps that don't belong.

The app discovery is painfully bad. These companies work hard to release these apps and Google doesn't even display them.

Some examples:

• Where do I find all live TV services like PlayStation Vue or cable network apps?
• Where do I find all finance apps?
• Where do I find all education apps?
• Where do I find all health&fitness apps?
• Where do I find all sports apps?
• Why does news only have about 20 apps when Android TV has dozens of them?
• Why are there odd random apps in said categories that don't belong? Usually Google's own.
• Where are the reviews?

Google, if you create places for apps to reside people will bring them. As of now you are saying nothing belongs on Android TV but music, news and games. This is not a roku. These are real apps on the TV. Amazon nailed this just like you did on mobile. There are TONS of proper categories on the Fire TV app store.

I picked up a new Shield TV shortly after CES and just found the Google Assistant on my phone (I used OK Google regularly, and it just worked, so I didn't really dig in to it), and I love the Hue integration. Would love to integrate with my TV experience as well, being able to say something like "OK Google, play My Hero Academia on Crunchyroll" and have it dim the lights and put on some anime.

However, since February 16th, I can't find any updates or announcements, just that it's coming in Early 2017. Has anyone seen any updates on the subject?

Is it broken somehow in plex?

My AVR can handle DTS and after tinkering with options I was able to plex play DTS files and I can hear audio and AVR shows DTS logo but the video is skipping fast forward.

With SPMC and Kodi DTS those files work fine, after I found in the settings the options to enable passthrough for different audio formats. I wonder why those were hidden so deep anyways...

Anyway, I rather use Plex than Kodi tbh. But atm I must watch movies with DTS with Kodi :(

I'm trying to automate torrent downloading from a RSS feed on my Android TV. Do you know of any torrent client compatible with RSS feeds, like Deluge/Vuze, but for Android TV ? Bonus point for external media handling, nice UI.

I have 4k content that I'd like to stream from my NAS (Media Server) to my TV. The problem is that I can't find any free(or cheap) option that allows smooth playback of large files (± 20 GB) and has the ability to change the audio string or the subtitles. Support for HDR content, DTS audio and .mkv etc. files are a necessity.

Does anyone know an optimal solution?

• TV: Phillips 55PUS6401
• File Explorer: ES file explorer
• Tested Media Players:
  • X-plore (integrated in file explorer)
  • VLC
  • MX Player
  • ES (integrated in file explorer)
  • bunch of others (can't remember the names)...

Maybe the easiest solution is to just buy the codec package of a media player that is suitable, but I don't know which is the best.

My Network supports gigabit transfer rates and the media server is fast enough to be able to stream at the rate of the 4k files.

Please forgive me for any mistakes I made for English is not my mother tongue.

Just bought a Mi Box from Wal-Mart the other day and went through the setup. Downloaded the Android TV remote control app from the play store. The app finds my Mi Box over Wi-Fi just fine, but when I try to connect it acts like it's trying to connect for a split second then goes back to the screen showing available devices. I've tried reinstalling, using a different phone, using 5GHz Wi-Fi, I don't know what else to try. I can connect to my Xbox one fine with the smartglass app so I know Wi-Fi based remotes work over my Wi-Fi... Is there something I can do to the Mi Box to get it working?

Is The CW app available for the Nvidia Shield TV?

When trying to install either iPlayer or 4oD via the Play Store the Mi Box says it's not a supported device so I can't install it.

I'm surprised there's not some sort of solution / work around to get the app onto the box some how.

My shiny new Nvidia Shield arrived via Amazon and Canada post yesterday and I am very impressed at its overall awesomeness. Also thank you to people on here who suggested that I turn off Location settings to allow Amazon Prime video to work properly in Canada. Worked perfectly! Anyway... the reason I am posting here is because I am trying to set this up as a Plex server but am running into an issue getting files actually transferred onto the USB drive I have connected to the Shield. The instructions on the Nvidia site say: Go to Settings > Device > Storage & reset > Access SHIELD folders on PC. However for me "Access SHIELD folders on PC" is missing. So i'm curious what others have done to achieve full Plex server status, as I am unsure how to put actual media on this server

Hey everyone, I know multiple posts have been upon this subject but I've found no fix. Netflix will play for 1-10 seconds then stop and say "Were having trouble playing this title right now..." Error code:  tvq-pm-100 (5.2.5). PS. It does not appear to be a network issue because it plays Kodi with no issues, as well as Netflix plays on other devices. I am stuck. Has anyone found an update or fix? Thanks everyone!

Just go my first Android TV box and have a few questions on MXPlayer:

1. Does MXPlayer support auto refresh rate switching like Kodi does?
2. What settings do I need to adjust for best performance? Also do I need to install one of those codes from the playstore?

hello all! i'm looking for a vpn client that i can use on my mibox. i have an nvpn account and a purevpn account. i downloaded the purevpn apk and installed it, HOWEVER i can't get down to the login "button" (it's actually just blue text sort of like a hyperlink) to put my info in. I'd prefer to use purevpn as i've already paid for a month of it, but if there is a proven not-stupid-expensive option, i'm all ears.

i'm not rooted and would prefer not to go down that route but, again, if that's the easiest/quickest way, i'll listen. TIA!

Hello, In order to save time, is it possible to transfer Kodi 17 from my S7 Edge to Venz v10 pro? I have a lot of plugins and it will take quite some time to install them all on the android box. How can it be done?

EDIT: I haven't received it yet, probably tomorrow, is there a chance Kodi 17 will be pre-installed, so I won't have to transfer the whole program?

EDIT 2: I contacted them and kodi 17.1 is installed on their latest firmware. The only thing I need to do is backup my addons.

Hi. As per title, I would like to run adb commands on my mibox, but don't know which usb cable I need. Will a standard usb A to A cable work, or does it need features like OTG? Any suggestions?
