I just picked up the 2017 model and I'm using my cable login info and a few times now it has logged me out and I have to log in again? Is this common, or is it a bug?

Mainly for the 24p support. On the Firestick local streaming movies aren't all that smooth; they feel like they play a bit too fast. Will the Shield fix this?

Also, how's the Shield with Bluetooth headphones? I love that with the Firestick I can just turn off headphones and it'll auto output audio to my speakers. And should I get the gen1 cause I really want to use my universal remote.

I have an MXQ PRO 4K Amligic S905 device, I have a rom on it based on Neomode rom, it shows the navigation bar at the bottom with volume softkeys, I would like to remove these softkeys, anyone know how?

i've had my NP since close to launch and absolutely love android as a tv box top. i use it daily as a cord cutter. i'm starting to wonder if there might be better options now though. lots of apps that show up as tv compatible arent for the NP. it still receives security updates though. i can't really afford a shield tv so are there better, lesser known boxes available now? i'll most likely hold onto my NP but was hoping to find a more powerful option for a daily driver set top box. any suggestions??

It's not that I can't play any movies, it's just that everything is displayed to only be available in HD if I go to the movie selection, even shows that are definitely available in 4K (like breaking bad)

I'm using mi box mdz 16 ab International version.. I tried to connect usb today it isn't detecting.. No power coming to the device.. Using latest version.. I connected USB after around 1 month.. I connected external hard disk of 500 gb and 1 tb.. No light is coming from hdd.. So no power coming to hdd. I also tried connecting pen drive no luck then also.. Issue with hardware or factory reset might work.. Suggest something..

My Chromecast doesn't work with my dorm's WiFi for various reasons. For one, all of the devices are hidden from each other so I can't connect the Chromecast using the set-up process on my phone. I also can't set up a private WiFi network because that violates policy.

So, my idea was to get a Mi Box for $69. My question is, is the Wi-Fi set up process non-reliant on my Google Pixel? As long as I have access to the box's MAC address, I should be able to get it set up.

I am trying to use the Eurosport Player app on my KDL50W808C Bravia Android TV running Lollipop (Marshmallow update has been pulled AFAIK).

I can sideload the app without a problem, and the app starts. However, it does not accept any input from the remote, and I can't select the button to Log In. The same happens with the Android TV remote from my phone, either in D-Pad mode or Touchpad mode.

Does anyone have an idea as to how to pass a "touch" input to the tv?

I'm not even sure the service would work at all since it only speaks of Android tablets and phones, but I'm willing to bet 7€, if only I could sign up!

I'd like to achieve this all on the Shield, without the use of a computer. Is this possible?

Hi, I'm getting bootloop (endless bootanimation) and I can't get to recovery holding "BACK" + "OK". This is how I do it:

1. Unplug AC connector

2. Hold "back" + "ok" buttons

3. Plug AC connector

4. Wait holding the two buttons

Is this method right? Because I always get that damn bootanimation... I've also try replacing remote's batteries with no success..

EDIT: solved with a male/male usb cable and Google USB Drivers.

I just bought a shield TV to go with my 4k TV and I'm trying to figure out if Netflix is streaming in 4k or not. Is there a way to do this with the shield?

I know that you can see info by pressing the asterisk on a Roku but can't figure it out with a shield.

I have created a home video with Adobe Premiere and exported it to an mp4. I created it in 4k [4096×2160], but when i play it on my TV and heard the sound, but no picture.

I re-exported the video in UHD [3840×2160] and this time i got picture and sound.

any thoughts/theories/reasons why this happened? can AndroidTV play [4096×2160] via USB or is [3840×2160] the max? Any help would be great, this has been very frustrating.

I have the app installed on my phone from the Google play store, but it isn't showing up on the Android TV box. How do I sideloading it from my phone to the mi box? I can't find the APk on apkmirror.

My pupose is only for watching Movies and Videos, not gaming for which I have a PS$ and Xbox One. Will there be any improvement, watching my Library of various movies, of the Shield or would it be just overkill?
