I have a Sony 50W809C with the latest version of Android TV. What are the apps that are working with 5.1 audio ? For me only Kodi and Netflix works. No luck with youtube or NBA app, either with the app or just by casting. Has anyone been able to do some testing ?

I just wanted to know if there was any way to bypass the region lock on the HBO go app on android tv. I managed to install it downloading the apk, moving it to a flash drive and installing from there, but when I try to open it it says that my region is not supported.

I looked on the Play store but couldn't find anything. Does this not exist? Thanks!

My case is that when I try to turn my TV it does not yet passed a state like limbo in which I have to disconnect from the current and after that wait around 5-7 minutes to try to turn it back on, this happens to me frequently and is already beginning to fill me patience, TV has no new available updates and also happens that when I try to see the Netflix starts playing without take 2 minutes out of the App to the last he was placed and already as the 3rd or 4th attempt I can see the Netflix what he wanted, it is a virtually new TV because it has not 2-3 months have bought it, I liked the Android theme but I'll have to be in this situation I do not think it worthwhile. A user on AndroidPolice pointed out that it could now be installed on Android TV through the Play Store. I installed it from the web Play Store, and it worked, but the app doesn't appear in the Leanback launcher :( you still have to launch it through settings. But it appears to have full controller support and everything worked great on my Shield.

Perhaps you guys should email Mojang and ask them to add support for the Leanback launcher!

If I watch a Twitch Stream and quickly switch to a clip of something and come back, that Twitch stream is no longer listed at the top. I have to scroll through 20 other items before getting back to it. There seem to be no explanation for how these are organized. Shouldn't they just push the next one down the line so the last thing I watched is the first box, the second to last thing is the next, etc? The way it works now makes it very difficult to switch back and forth from different streams.

I have a Sony Bravia with the AndroidTV and I'm running into a problem with Googlecast.

It seems that if I use my phone (LG G5) which is on the same network as the TV to watch a video that can use Googlecast, the TV (even if it's off), goes into Googlecast mode. When I turn on the TV via Sony remote, it is on the Chromecast screen already and none of the TV is basically stuck except for using my phone to cast something. Remote is dead, power controls on the back of the TV are dead, can't even try to find the TV using IR Blaster on my phone.

Am I the only one having this problem or is there somewhere I can go to fix this? Right now I need to manually unplug the power source to reset my TV back so my remotes work again.

I've bought today the philips 4600er 55" and I'm trying to download some apps from the market place, but it says I don't have storage and to add a USB or something, I've tried to connect a DOK and an HardDisk, but it still says I don't have storage. I know that's because I didn't made them as storage space for the smarttv, so how do I make the smart tv stoage things there?

I see in the support page Google makes mention of IP based tuners and even USB ones? Im well aware HDHomeRun is a thing, but I'd rather not stream the TV if there's already a vz cable box sitting under it, and I could just replace it with a physically connected cable card and the Android TV. But, after some googling I haven't seen anything as such. I always thought the live channels app was simply a aggregator, and had no actual media capabilities, it simply integrated the streams from other things, but the way Google writes their article makes it sound like tuner + live channels = profit. So, do any such devices exist? I've got a Nexus player on the N beta, so thankfully it does have the new codecs.

Is there a Remote Control API or possibly an open source project that does this? I'm interested in automating my tv for some part and it would be great if there is an (unofficial) API that lets me do this.

I seen a few screenshots of the official android TV app being used as a game pad, not sure if it was an April fools thing. What I'm wondering is there any app out there that has that functionally?

There are certain youtube movies that show 1440p and 2160p on the PC, but the TV app doesn't show any options higher than 1080p. It's quite counterproductive to having a 4k display of course. (my model is a Sony x8509c, but that seems largely irrelevant)

I have a wyse thin client with AMD G series that loads and runs linux great and it also loaded android. It runs kodi perfectly but it cant run youtube app, plex app nor the xfinity tv app. It would be great if I could figure out the issue. Anyone else have any advice on how to troubleshoot?

So we are around five weeks away from Google I/O 2016. How likely do you think it is that Google will unveil a new Nexus Player? I mean, Google Store has been out of stock for a while now —except for some recent gone-in-a-matter-of-minutes episodes—. I'm thinking of getting a non-smart TV and plugging in one of these bad boys.

So I guess what I'm asking is if there's a hype train and whether or not I'm supposed to be boarding it. What do you think?
