This happens CONSTANTLY and it's driving me to want to return my brand new Shield. I can watch episodes from Plex through my phone, I can watch them directly on my PC, I can Chromecast them. The issue is the app itself consistently losing connection. The Shield itself is on the internet and working just fine. I can literally load anything else i want.

My Plex drives are a USB drive connected to my router. I can also access these files when it says the server is down. The hard drive seems to work fine as well. I can't find the root cause of this.

Has anyone else noticed a complete meltdown in this app over the last few weeks? Every few minutes I get that annoying pop-up and it gives the option to Report an Issue but when I try that it pops up the keyboard and I can't input anything.

Any ideas?

The loading icon just spins and spins and the main screen never appears

Ever since the 750 MB download I was prompted to take the other day it's not just been unplayable - it won't even get past the menus. Clearing cache and data only made it prompt me to download again which I'd guess would get me right back to the same problem. Sorry for the DAE post but I'm trying to determine whether a total uninstall or a factory reset is the real issue here.

Has anyone been able to sort out a way to hide apps from leanback launcher, without rooting the device?

Why do I need Pluto.TV, when it is already integrated with live channels?

I'm considering buying a Shield TV but have a few questions.

I tried out a Apple TV 4 however found that it wasn't good enough for what I wanted. I'll be upgrading from a WDTV Live and so I want whatever I end up with to do at least what I did with that. (The ATV4 was awesome, but it ended up having too many deal breakers that I'd want to upgrade as soon as the next iteration was released).

What I like about the Shield that the ATV was unable to do was:

• 1080p24
• HD Audio passthrough (though I think ATV may be able to do this with Infuse's latest release)

Beyond that, and everything else I know the Shield can do (Dreamcast emulation?!? What?!) I want to be sure that it can play 1080p hi10p anime encodes (which requires software decoding).

Does anyone have experience with playing many scene released hi10p on their shields? Run into any that just won't play? While I could return the ATV4, the Shield isn't officially sold where I am, so when I buy it I'm stuck with it (hopefully for better).

Also, frustratingly I missed the deal Amazon for a free shield remote. Had that deal happened before?

I have a Sony KD-65XD8505, and I tried many different players (Standard/VLC/MX PLayer). But when I load a mkv file somewhere after an hour or 2 hour it just crashes. I have tried remuxing the mkv with MKVToolNix but it didn't help either. I am playing them through a usb3 hdd attached to the tv. Does anybody know how to fix this it's kinda driving me insane.

So, I just discovered that I can install Kodi (formerly XBMC) on my new Sony XBR-55X850D and via UPnP I can point to the libraries I've setup on my HTPC running Kodi which is attached to a non-smart TV.

I literally just discovered this a few minutes ago and noticed things aren't exactly the same on my Android TV as they are with my Kodi installation on my HTPC. For instance, I don't have any dvd cover art showing on my Android TV installation. Is this just how it is when connecting to a Kodi library via UPnP?

Is there anything I should know about running Kodi on AndroidTV? I actually built the HTPC for the other members of the house. I'm more of a 'launch a movie from Windows Explorer and go full screen in Windows Media Player Classic' kind of guy. Honestly, I haven't touched the Kodi installation downstairs on the HTPC in many, many months. I'm sure I am several versions behind.

What addons are recommended for Kodi installations on AndroidTV?

I purchased the new Apple TV a while ago, and I've become quite tired of its various quirks. I want to switch to Android TV.

Is the Nexus Player still a viable option? I see that it's become less available as of late, and its specs seem fairly dated to some newer, more expensive boxes. I don't want to game on whatever I get aside from SNES/GBA/PSX/N64 emulation; I'd mainly just use Netfilx/Plex/Twitch/Cruchyroll/etc. I also want to ensure whatever I'd get has decent support and will be updated for a while... Is the Nexus Player sufficient for my needs? Are there better options for me? Do I need to wait for a new Nexus (if one is planned)?

I've been happily using HDHomeRun Prime with several Nexus Players.

I have two cable boxes that I still use because I use the DVR which continues to be frustrating.

What PVR works well with this setup? Is there something that allows time-shifting and/or auto-delete of commercials that works well with my setup?

I have a Sony Running Android TV.

1. How can I get the "Set-top box control setup", "Enjoy Netflix more, anytime" and "Watch TV" icons to go away.

2. I cannot get the channel guide, it says I need to agree to the privacy policy. Where do I do this?

3. I have a Blue Ray Player, and it either doesn't show up, or shows up twice in the inputs section (as "BD" and "HDMI 4/ARC"). How do I get it to only show up once?

Quite often I go to use my Android TV Sony Bravia to find that it has no wifi connection. It's not that it's just lost it's connection to my router, but it's lost all Wifi capability. If I try to setup the wifi it doesn't see any wireless connections at all, when normally it sees a couple in my house plus several of our neighbors.

The only solution is to pull the power cord and have it power back up, then it goes back to normal and everything works as expected.

I am having problems with seting up my DNS on my tv it wont apply it (I need to restart my tv for it to apply DNS addresses) I have tryed with that button that is on the back of it but since I installed an update all that button does is enters stand by mode I have tryed unpluging it but this does not work either then I tryed to reinstall the tv but also does not work

Has anyone tried using this app to watch live streams of MLB. I hear this year with the premium you get 60fps high quality streams. It's $109 for the year to watch any team you want and $84 to watch a single team.

My question is if the app actually works. I thought I had heard people complaining about this app in past years and I don't want to pay for it and have it constantly give me problems. Don't know if it would just be better to buy the package on cable instead. Just looking for any feedback if anyone on here has used or knows someone that has used it. Not too many reviews on the google play store.

They say they will create Apple TV and Chromecast support but this is not the same as Android TV. So if you are getting this service or may in future email them or tweet to them that you want Android TV support.

Will installing a usb mic allow for voice control on an android tv, are drivers etc built in, and are any specific models suggested? thanks!

Greetings, i would like to ask for help on how to correctly install Google Live Channels app.

Since last software update my Philips androidTV (32PFT5500/12) allows installs from unknown sources (finaly), so i gone ahead and tried to install Google Live Channels apk, since it is not available for my device in Play store, and i couldnt install it, all it said is (app was not installed), so i guess the problem was that Google Live Channels was already pre installed in my tv, and philips somehow tinkered with it that i would not be able to update it, nor to be able to launch it.

So my question would be, without gaining root access, is there any possible way to install the Live Channels App to my TV, maybe somehow to create dublicate app that could be run alongsite the old live channels app or somehow like that ?
