Has anyone seen a weird blue-green glow on their TV? I see it occasionally on my XBR65X850C. It grows out from the SONY logo in the bottom of the screen, and the LED flashes the same color. It almost looks like the "no more room to scroll" glow some Android apps show. And no, it's color bleed like the old models had...

Any tv box that meet my needs?

This happens way too often, sometimes it just doesn't turn on (the red standby led isn't on either) and I have to unplug the power cable, wait a bit, plug it back in, after which the red LED starts pulsing for like 10 minutes and then I can turn it on.

Is this a problem with the power supply, bad cable, bad TV, software? Any help would be really appreciated. It's a 40PUK6400 by the way.

• Sideload Chrome to your device (via whichever method you prefer)
• Open Chrome from either the Settings -> Apps menu or through Sideload Launcher if you use that.
• Navigate to Amazon, log in and navigate to Amazon Instant Video section.
• Click the 3 dots menu in Chrome bar and choose Request Desktop Site.
• Browse and watch!

Since this is Chrome you must have a mouse of some kind to navigate. I use a Logitech K400 Plus.

Yea, it's a pain in the ass but it does work if there is something you really want to watch on Prime Video.

*Edit - Yes it is in HD. It starts in SD and ramps up to HD as it buffers/senses your bandwidth.

Now it don't. For some reason YouTube casting from chrome works fine, but no other tabs. It just says "can't find any cast units".

Any ideas? I have tried to reinstall and followed the google troubleshooting. I can't cast from my ipad either. Is there any way to restart the inbuilt chromecast?

Probably because of some apk that I manually downloaded and sideloaded, I started receiveing photo ads (for games mostly) that popup every couple of minutes making the Shield TV unusable.

It happens on multiple apps (Hulu, Kodi) and even on the home screen. Malware scanners freely available on the Android TV Playstore found and removed one suspicious thing but I still have the issue.

Any recommendations?

Has anyone, or does any one know if it's possible to setup a harmony remote (I have the 650) to emulate the right stick mouse control on the ShieldTV? The Shield controller doesn't have a IR blaster, so I can't teach the Harmony the commands.

It'd be great to set this up, it would prevent the need for the Shield controller when I want to navigate the few random apps that need the mouse support.

I have my Leanback Launcher set to allow me to rearrange my apps as I see fit. However, no matter what I do, they seem to jumble up and move around. Sometimes its when I come home from work and turn on the Shield. Sometimes its when I return to the home screen after using an app.

Anyone else experience this? Is there a fix?

Anyone have any problems on the latest sony android update? my netflix subs are out of wack. Some subs end up not being seen on the bottom. If i change the font size to a smaller one on my web browser and go back to the tv it can be seen but ends up being too small.

Also i noticed the image quality has gone down. i checked my internet connection but it was good since i have vdsl.

Hey there. I'm considering getting a Shield, and just wanna know a few things that would certainly help me decide if I want it now, or later.

Right now, I'm about $500 away from finishing a super desktop for gaming and music production. I also have a chromecast in a TV placed directly above my monitor. That TV also connects to my Xbox 360 (out of Live), WiiU, N64, and NES

Now why would I want a Shield when I have all this and am about to finish a super computer? Well I was looking for a better supplement than my chromecast for TV features like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc. Plus a part of me misses a bit of console gaming (I haven't touched my Xbox in God knows how long, and the WiiU doesn't count much)

I liked a few gaming features of the Shield, and wanna hear some feedback on them.

Shield offers a "Netflix, but for games" service, if I remember reading correctly. How is this, and can these games (or any game, for that matter) be played in a local 2-player fashion (providing I got a second controller)? Good or bad feature?

I also saw that you can stream some games from your own computer (if you have an Nvidia graphics card of some series or better), including Steam games or Battle.net games. How are these, too? Can these also be played co-op? Good/bad?

Then it has Google Play installed. Can I link it to the same Google account that I use on my Galaxy, and download already-purchased games, like Minecraft:PE?

And at the end of the day, is the 16GB or the 500GB Shield more worth it? I planned on getting the remote either way, how is it, functionally?

I can't believe Google hasn't yet implemented 60 fps for the Android TV YouTube app, while my phone has it and something like the Twitch app had it from the beginning. I sideloaded from apkmirror the mobile YouTube app (320 dpi version) today and unfortunately it seems to not recognize the Shield resolution and it's limited to 720p 60fps. Let's hope they will implement it soon on our wall powered tv boxes connected to giant screens...

This is driving me crazy!!!! I have HDMI CEC/ HDMI Control turned off in all places on my TV and on the SHIELD Android TV. Even still, my SHIELD will operate normal in stereo mode until I use Netflix. As soon as I play an episode Netflix switches to 5.1, I will either get no sound or video stuttering. If I manually switch it back to stereo I am good to go... for the episode. Playing the next episode I will have to change this again. After this happens until I reboot the SHIELD attempting to control the volume on ATV yields a message to control my volume externally, system is in surround mode. I currently have my TV outputting to a pair of bookshelf speakers, all settings are stereo on the TV and SHIELD.

Any ideas? I have tried disabling Netflix and uninstalling updates, then enabled and re-updating.
