My streaming device is Mi TV Stick 4k.

I want to play the movies I have on my PC harddisk on my TV. Not mirror screens, but actually play the file on my TV.

I tried using VLC but it doesn't work.

How can I access the movie files from my PC on TV???

Information such as :- Resolution Frame Rate Video Format Audio Format Colour Depth HDR Color parameter Codec

Is there any hidden settings that can be triggered using sequences on the remote ?

If not, HDMI input, can we get the same for content played on the TV itself using the Android TV platform ?

Does anyone have experience with using the Google TV remote on a Fire Tablet with their smart TV? I have a Bravia with Google TV scheduled for installation and am musing the idea of picking up a cheap 8" Fire tablet to use for TV and lighting control in the room. I know that the Fire tablet Android version isn't the same as a standard Android install since it does not have any Google services installed.

Hey. Just got a Mi Stick 4k and I'm trying to figure out what are the correct settings to get the most out of my LG C2 TV.

What is the better option when setting up DoVi processing for playing 10 bit DoVi content?

1. Sink device-led: results in ycbcr422 8b
2. Source device-led: my TV shows RGB 8b

Also, when selecting option #2 my telly sees HDR10 content as being SDR.

We bought a Hisense U7H recently, and I am just getting around to setting up the remotes in a way that is easy for my parents to understand. Everything works great now except for one thing... the input button. My parents are at that age where they can't be bothered to figure out something new. While I've insisted that despite the fact that there are now two remotes, it is still simple, they strongly disagree.

I have everything set up to use their cox contour remote so it pretty much functions like a dumb TV but when they want to change inputs it pull up the input menu with no way to actually change the input. An app called Button Mapper has been a great help for everything else, but it unfortunately doesn't seem to have support for tv specific functions like changing inputs.

Long story short, I need to find a way to make it so that with each press of the input button, it will cycle to the next input like most other tvs. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, just got an android tv and wondering what the best way to stream content is? I used soap2day in my laptop browser previously. Can’t see much online on the best app/way to do this on android tv.

So I know Mecool's track record for updating their devices is horrible (the KM1 only ever had one update). Aside from the remote issues I have with it spamming a button as if it were constantly held, WiFi has been the main issue. Analti shows pings occasionally of 100-200 ms at times and I'll have to toggle WiFi off then back on for better results that last for maybe a few hours give or take. My question aside from buying a better box like a Shield, would it be possible to use a USB WiFi dongle for better connection or would a USB 3.0 ethernet adapter connected to the 3.0 port and a powerline adapter be the way to go? I know the ethernet port included is just a fast ethernet and not a gigabit ethernet port.

I have a chromecast w/ google tv. I can't figure out how to get my uploaded youtube music library to play independently on the chromecast without streaming from another device.

I don't want to watch youtube. I want the playlists from my uploaded music library.

What am I not understanding?

I'm facing this weird issue where the quality of video is better in built in player compared to apps in playstore. I tried Nova, Kodi, VLC. Either there's a audio mismatch or video shutters. Any way to fix this?

I recently just bought a Chromecast with Google TV (HD) during the Black Friday sale. After finished setting everything up, everything works fine except for the casting feature. I tried to cast things from my phone. It worked fine for every streaming apps but Netflix.

For some reason, the CCwGTV does not show up in the Netflix app's casting device list. Other devices show up such as my Fire TV. I never had this issue with my old Chromecast 3rd Gen.

I use a Pixel 6 phone. Everything is updated. Both the Netflix apps on CCwGTV and my phone are logged in with the same account. I have literally tried everything I could find, from uninstalling/reinstalling the app, unlinking/relinking Netflix, factory reset the CCwGTV, clearing cache/data Google Play Services on my phone, and even factory reset my phone as a last ditch effort. But nothing fixed the issue!!

Does anyone else have the same issue or know how to fix this?

Anyone knows how to enable pendrive formated on exFAT on the Onn 4K TV? FAT32 is a no go because I want to play movie with filesize larger than 4gb.

I download an app "Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for USB by Paragon Software" but it seems you need to pay to use. Anyone can confirm this works on the Onn 4K?

I am going to start converting all family household TV usage from built-in Vizio Chromecast / smart TV UI to GCwGTV.

One behavior of my family is they misplace remotes, and my 2yo toddler likes to smash them open on the ground...so I have a bunch of replacements on hand. The Vizio remotes are cheap, around $7 last time I checked, so I'd stock up 2 or 3 at a time.

However, the official GCwGTV remote seems to be going for ~$20, which is a bit high for me, so looking for solutions (changing family behavior is a no go) that A) are under $10 or B) are a good size to have a locator tag attached so we can cause it to beep to locate easily.

I've been looking for a minimalist remote, with just the essential buttons, no 0-9 numpad, but searches not turning up any candidates. The Vizio remotes actually do work through CEC but it's clunky because most buttons (eg Netflix, home, etc) take you out of the GCwGTV interface. I would prefer not to have such caveats for my non-techy family to have to wrap their head around.

Looking to buy a Hisense U7G Android TV for my grandparents but need to make it as simple as roku to find the antenna TV, and the couple apps they may use. Don't even know what the base launcher looks like but if there's more on the screen than a Roku TV, it's too much.

This is supposed to be a new version that launched recently. I can see it in the UK Play Store on mobile, but I can't tell if it's available for TV as well. Can anyone check if it's available in the TV UK Play Store? Would also really appreciate it if someone can provide the APK in that case.

I just got a nice Sony TV I connected it to my google account and google home app, why is it not allowing me to use the remote on the google home app? There’s nothing wrong with my WiFi

So, I just received my brand new Sharp 70” android TV today and I instantly noticed that tit flickers once in a while. The flicker looks different every time but has the same type. A bunch of lines flicker on for a split second once every five minutes approximately(sometimes more often). Anyone that have had the same problem or an idea of what can be causing this?

Help! I went to do something, and when I came back the tv screen is just black. Hard reset hasn’t done anything. Does anyone know a fix?

I've bought a new Philips 65OLED937 AndroidTV and wanted to try Logitech Brio 4K with Google Meet. Image quality was extremely bad. Did you have any experience with AndroidTv and Logitech Brio 4k webcams?

Yesterday I asked "open play store" on my CCwGTV, and instead of replying "Opening - Google play store", the assistant replied with "OK". Today, it replied with with "Got it".

Most probably this change with a recent update of "Google app for Android TV" (I have version 6.13.20221024.4)

Anyone else getting this?
