I am developing an android application targetted at android boxes which we can install via APK file or google play store. I will have to connect the android box to a touch screen monitor from where the users will interact.

Here is my requirements list

- Supports android os

- Touch screen (separate monitor / android device itself)

- Webcam support

- Available in Japan

- Screen size more than 14 inch

- GPS driver

- Able to install external android application

- Minimum screen resolution (1,920 x 1,080)

- Android version support Android 8 or later

- Minimum RAM 4GB

I just bought an LG C2 EVO OLED. I have a 2017 Shield which I am using with the tv that is about to get replaced but I also have a chromecast with google tv on my bedroom tv. I was wondering which device would be better to use with the tv. The shield is ultra fast and plays everything flawlessly but doesnt support Dolby Vision which the TV supports. The chromecast supports Dolby Vision but tends to be laggy and sometimes it just doesnt work correctly.

I am split here. Would using Dolby Vision make that big of a difference?

Thanks in advance for the input. I have a Samsung UN50NU6900FXZA that is being under-utilized with my FireTV. I've tried using audio extractors in combination with a FireTV Cube, but there were always issues. I want to purchase an Nvidia Shield Pro and pair it with a decent headphone amp/DAC that I can use to send audio to my old Pioneer VSX-D902S receiver via Line out or RCA. I've looked at the Monoprice Liquid Spark DAC and the Fiio K3 V2 that were around $100-110. Would either one of these be adequate? Any better suggestions in the same price range?

Has anyone found a way to force a sideloaded APK (i.e. YT Music) to run in full screen mode on the Chromecast with Google TV (4K/Android TV version 10)

When searching for a solution it appears that users have had success on other devices with 3rd party apps (i.e. set orientation). Unfortunately this doesn't seem like a solution for either CCwGTV or AndroidTV10, as no matter what app/settings I use the problem still persists.

I've also tried rotating the screen/app, forcing immersive mode, and changing the accelerometer (I'm pretty sure ATV10 doesn't have any accelerometer settings anyway) settings via adb.

The closest I've gotten is using adb; I'm able to rotate the app so it uses the full screen, unfortunately the entire app rotates, including the orientation.

Has anyone had any success with this?

I bought Realme Stick with Google TV and I'm quite satisfied. But I've got a question - what to do if i broke the remote control? Is it availble to buy the second one? Or can I use another remote control, for examle, remote control for Xiaomi TV?

Anyone using the Onn TV Box with a CEC compatible TV?

I can't get it to work using CEC with my TV remote or the Onn TV remote.

The Onn TV remote will control volume on my sound bar through CEC, but won't power on/off my TV. (Power off makes the TV go to the home screen). I can setup the TV using IR but it's far away and isn't reliable.

TV is a TCL Roku TV. I tried using the TV remote, but that won't control the Onn TV at all.

Before this, I had a Firestick 4k and 4k max. The Firestick remote would control the TV (CEC) and Firestick perfectly.

I tried resetting CEC on my TV. Rebooting both.

Any other options? Some Bluetooth device that would pair to both the TV and the Onn tv box.

im looking for a good android tv box that i can root, has usb 2+3 , hdmi, and mmc slot in Canada. i want something for my mother to easily watch movies on from a usb stick ( in vlc or whatever).
it would be nice if it had custom rom support, but i understand that might be asking a lot. android 9-11 preferably. preferably something that does not crash every day also.

When I access iPlayer from any of the home screen, settings or a home made home screen it simply doesn't respond. I've tried disabling, stopping, clearing cache etc but no luck. I'm unable to delete and reinstall as it doesn't have an option to in settings. Anyone got a clue? TV is Sony Bravia.

We have Toshiba 58U7880 and recently the Android TV features aren't working.

We can't access the main launcher while we press the home button on the remote (we tried with a new remote as well).

The TV seems to be connected to WiFi and we can stream content to it.

Also, we tried resettig the TV to it's deafults settings but it doesn't seems to change anything.

Can someone advise?

Which device will perform better and supports browser? Mi stick/box or Fire tv stick or Chrome cast with android tv (do i need to use my phone to use it?) Or any other

Btw, TV is 1080p, and i am concerned about performance/smoothness playback.

I have a brand new KM7 TV box I am trying to use. When I try to connect to the wifi on my laptop, a splash screen pops up and requires you to click on the "connect" button in order to complete the wifi connection. When I try logging onto the wifi using the KM7 box, it will connect, but then show a small box that says "no internet connection- please login". But no splash screen pops up. I've tried going to a browser on the KM7 box, but it won't open because it says there's no internet connection. How do I get my KM7 box connected to the wifi?

My Onn Android TV box has been really good. But over the last month or so, the remote frequently disconnects or the remote buttons to control my TV have to be reprogrammed. I have also noticed the android box getting hot.

Any recommendations? I wonder what caused this to start suddenly over the last month...

Is there a way to screen mirror from my iPhone 13 Pro Max to my onn streaming stick? I know I can do it with Roku and I do already, but was wondering if it’s possible with the android tv onn stick. Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to stop one app from auto updating. The app is tivimate. The latest update keeps every coupe of minutes it’ll black screen for 2 seconds and then go back to what your watching. An older version doesn’t do this and wanna stay on this version.

I have done the initial set up again all passwords entered etc but my Home Screen interface seems to be the old one with the app bars up the left?

Everything says it’s update but it’s the older clunkier interface.

On 90% of occasions when trying to launch some streaming apps, a message appears reading

'Offline, the TV is not currently connected to the internet. Click 'Connect to restore or setup your network connection.'

The TV IS connected to the internet and it still happens with both wired/wireless connection. Some apps will work whilst some do not. Clicking connect does not fix the issue. It only appears to be the smaller UK streaming Apps are affected like ITV hub, BBC IPlayer, My5 and All4.

Netflix, Amazon, Disney, YouTube, Apple TV and crunchyroll are all working fine.

Tried Hard reboot, factory reset, clearing app cache and router reset, none of them fixed the issue.

So I bought a new smart TV and wanted to mirror my phone screen onto it. We don't have wifi, so I was hoping to use the app that most TVs have that allows casting without requiring wifi, presumably by creating a hotspot. The problem is that our TV doesn't have it and only has the option to cast by being on wifi. So I need any solution that can help with that, like an app that can help. I am ready to sideload it if needed, and a free solution would be appreciated.

I currently have an Nvidia shield on my TV iny bedroom but I'm looking to upgrade the TV in the living room. I would like to purchase a TV with android TV as the smart platform.

What TVs have the best performance? I would be using kodi to organize and play my digital media. I know kodi can be terribly slow on lower end hardware. Is there a TV where kodi performs fairly well or would I be better off getting another Nvidia shield?

Hi guys, i'm looking for recommendations for a certified android TV device.

Currently I haven't Amazon fire stick 4K, but the deafult launcher is unusable. I am very happy with ATV launcher installed and set as the default launcher, for example, but Amazon spend their life blocking changing the default launcher. I won't upgrade the Firestick which means the Prime Video app stopped working 6 months ago. And I paid for an annual Amazon Prime Video. :-(

What fast devices are there that I can depend upon to :

• let me change the default home launcher ,
• that are Android TV certified,
• that have reliable 4K
• that do automatic scaling like Amazon FS does on my TV,
• that do 4k Netflix and Amazon Prime Video,
• that have an SD card slot or USB slot.
• that can run VPN s/w. e.g Hide.me or NordVPN?

I had considered an nVidia device but again I would have a stressful home launcher like that of Amazon FS, and one that would need hacks to use ATV or similar that I could not depend on.

I have looked for a year and not found anything, yet.

ive started using HDMI CEC because i like the fact that it'll tell me what the device is on the sources instead of my having to guess which im trying to use, question is how do i control the tv while using the sources? (i like to change picture/sound presets depending on what im watching etc) 90% of the buttons control the device and not the TV, if i have to disable CEC everytime then i don't think i'll use it

Just got the Onn 4k android tv box after some solid recommendations from reddit. For the most part, no issues aside from it hanging from time to time...

BUT I'm getting one concerning issue coming up a fair bit, when I allow the ONN to go to sleep (white light turns red), after a few hours the light goes out and I can't get the damned thing to turn back on with the controller. Controller still turns on the tv though. Have to either long hold the power button on the box to turn it on, or if that fails, unplug the power cable and plug back in.

I have swapped the batteries for the remote just in case though I don't think the remote would cause it to turn off it's indicator light and it is still turning on the TV. I am also using the power supply it came with. I would love to just power it off the usb port on the tv for tidiness but I understand that probably isn't possible. The device is fully up to date and is sitting on a shelf (with my bluray player that is off so not generating any heat).

Tried searching this issue and mostly seeing issues with the remote so I feel like I'm going crazy. Anyone else having this issue? If so, is there a way to fix it? Is there anything bad that could happen if I just turned off the sleep option in screensaver so it is just always on but turn my tv off when not using it?

With how much everyone talks it up, I was hoping that I'd have better luck with it. The freezing alone kinda sucks but I can roll with it but can't if I have to reboot it each time I want to use it.
