Hi,
I have a Verizon stream TV Gen 2 (ask-sti6220). I am trying to enable Dolby Atmos passthrough (not TrueHD but the lossy kind) or even 5.1 on it. My receiver reads Linear PCM with auto setting or any setting (in the sound menu).
When I play using my PC, the receiver recognizes the correct audio format. But the same file is recognized as PCM when I use the Android TV box. I have tried direct play using Plex/Jellyfin and local play using Nova player with no luck.
I tried using this guide but now the receiver says Dolby sound for everything, even while playing from youtube. But I can only hear from 2 speakers. https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidTV/comments/xcnq5z/missing_manual_surround_sound_setting_in_km7_and/
Can anyone help me with any leads that I can try to get the Android box to pass through the correct audio format to get surround?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: https://www.verizon.com/products/verizon-stream-tv-gen-2/
The product page shows it can pass through Dolby Atmos
Edit Conclusion(for now):
Used the guide and enabled manual switches
I was under the impression while we have 4K media and TVs and 8K media and TVs, but 6K doesn't exist? I found this article which talks about 6K cams (devices) https://camerajabber.com/buyersguides/which-cameras-shoot-6k-video/
Or is this all just marketing gimmicks? I mean we see the Firestick 4K but no 6K. And 8K TV is really expensive with limited media to be played at this point in time.
