my hisense android tv (android tv 11) has no option to disable bluetooth. i dont like this because frankly i dont trust anything that doesnt have a custom rom without all the spy cruft installed. i dont trust google. i dont trust chinese companies like hisense. i only got this tv because im familiar with android and its a little less untrustworthy than a smart tv with roku, there were no comparably priced dumb tvs for sale anywhere i could find.
im using this thing with no internet access but i know it can still scan and ad-hoc connect to other devices if it wants to without my permission.i have wifi disabled and went into the system apps and manually disabled all of the system apps that talk about partner devices, hotspot, tethering, and the like. of course there is no off switch for bluetooth and its impossible to disable the app itself in system settings. for my peace of mind i would like an app that gives the functionality to shut it off or engage airplane mode which is also missing from this device.
why do i suspect this device is communicating with other devices without my knowledge or consent? because its already established that other devices do this and create a background mesh to communicate among each other and report data back to the corporate headquarters when theres no direct internet connection, and i refuse to believe that such a sheisty company as google wouldnt be doing the same. see this braxman tech video for more information on this subject. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccrUAp4GQvY
any solutions are welcome, if im unable to find a solution ill simply take the tv apart, locate the network chip and cut the traces or desolder it, but i would prefer an option that retains factory level connectivity in the event i want to factory reset this and sell it
Hey all,
So I've had my Google TV for a couple years now. This morning whilst I tried to log in to my peacock app the app froze. So I unplugged the Chromecast. Well after doing that the screen is stuck on the G Screen like so. I tried factory resetting it (hitting the small button) and held it for about 1 minute and it still wont reset. Has anyone had this happen to them and does anyone have any other alternatives to resetting this device?
TIA!
I have a Xiaomi 4k TV stick. My objective is to be able to save video files from an app into external storage linked via OTG cable. So I am trying to use a download manager to change the default save location whenever a file is downloaded, but this requires write-access which can be given via FX File Explorer. I tried to give this write-access on the Media Device using FX File Explorer, but I get stuck on this screen and no one seems to have a solution on the internet. The usual permissions in the general app settings are all on. Any ideas how I can proceed with write access? Thanks!

I was playing it on PC Gamepass and just discovered it was released completely free for both iOS and Android. I sideloaded it on my Nvidia Shield and it works great (set Landscape Left in settings for full screen).
Unfortunately my wired clone Xbox gamepad doesn’t work with Android so I was wondering if people had any suggestions? I think Bluetooth gamepads are too slow for a game like this and my Shield gamepads of course suffer from the dreaded “drift” problem. Will a PS5 controller work connected via USB? The game only uses directional controls so it doesn’t need to do much.
