I want to buy a Chromecast with Google TV to replace my Roku as the Roku doesn't support Twitch, and I hate the Amazon fire stick (times out way too quickly)

I want to make sure that Google TV definitely supports everything I use before I buy, some things say that any android app works, but then some have a list of supported apps and Twitch isn't there

Can anyone confirm whether Chromecast with Google TV supports ITV player, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, and Twitch?

I’ve recently tried Steam Link, AMD Link, Parsec and Rainway with my Android TV. It’s a Realme 1080p TV Stick with a S805X2 SOC, so nothing fancy. It is running Android TV 11.

I find that Steam Link works the best. It’s the only one with support for HEVC hardware decoding. The experience is very smooth with no frame drops. I left the bitrate uncapped, and it normally ran around 60mbps. I was really surprised since on my iPad Steam Link was the worst. The only problem with Steam Link is that I can’t get the controller to work with GamePass games.

AMD Link was okay. It doesn’t seem to have hardware decoding support on Android TV, so to achieve the best performance I’m using X265 at up to 10mbps. Using those settings the decoding latency is about 8ms which is not horrible, but not nearly as smooth as Steam Link.

Rainway works about the same as AMD Link. It has support for hardware decoding, but only for H264. It seems like the H264 decoder on my TV Stick is not nearly as good as the HEVC decoder, since to get smooth gameplay I had to limit the bitrate to 5mbps. With this bitrate cap, it is smoother than AMD Link, but the visual quality is way worst.

I’ve had no luck at all with Parsec. Nothing seems to work for me. The app is the same as the phone app. There’s no special TV app and It seems to require a mouse to use.

So far AMD Link is my favorite for GamePass games, and Steam Link for everything else.

Update: I managed to get the controller working on GamePass games with Steam Link using GlosC. Another nice thing with Steam Link is that it can power on your PC remotely if you have Wake on Lan set up.

I was wondering if the remote on the 4K stick is the same size as the mi box-s/og-stick because it seems taller on pictures.

I have been having issues lately with Disney+ not loading and giving me the Error code 83, HBOMAX takes forever to load and sometimes it does not. This issue started on Wi-Fi and I power cycled the tv and my Wi-Fi would not connect I changed my time from auto to manual and it fixed the issue with the connection but it did not solve the apps not connecting. I reset the TV last weekend and nothing changed. Today I started to have issues with YouTube TV and decided to connect through ethernet and it is still the same, what else can I do.

Hi guys, I know VLC does but do you know if any app besides Android TV Live Channels supports closed caption subtitles? I like the built-in app, but the lack of channel grouping and the non-updating EPG with TVIRL frustrates me and its difficult to know where.

Right now Formuler Z 10 Pro Max is 65$ cheaper than nVidia Shield TV Pro.

Is there any benefit to go for the nvidia one?

I currently have some troubles with my TCL TV from 2019.

It's working like a charm, and I can cast the screen from my phone, with no lag at all.

However, I'm looking to cast from my PC, and then the troubles start. If I cast from google Chrome, it's lagging as hell.

If I try "windows"+K, and selecting "magiconnect" app on the TV ; I can connect to the TV, but everytime the connection fails. Is there something I need to install on my computer ?

By the way, I'm running on W11.

Anybody has an idea to fix this problem ?

Mainly want it for football, i dont want to get any dogey iptv.

Today my philips tv lost sound and u can hear clicking sounds in regular intervals of like 10 sec or so even when turned off. I tried changing settings, but nothing there is still no sound, did hard restart, reinstaled sistem, nothing...

Anyone know what could be a problem?

Using the search feature I was able to find some threads about this before but all of the sideloaded apps are for mobile and do not work well with a remote. Is there a NFL GamePass International App made for Android TV and if so where could I find the APK?

I'm currently using Puffin web browser for streaming mainly pirate sport streams because that's what I found works the most painless. But it erks me to pay so much for it. I have a rather low end Realme 4K stick so efficiently is also high priority.

I am wanting to learn app development but don't have an idea of what to create. I love the Android TV platform and would love to make an app that helps the experience but have no ideas. Any suggestions for something you have been looking for but can't find?

I purchased a Realme 2K TV Stick. Everything works great with my old Samsung Plasma TV, except that I can’t figure out how to use the IR blaster that appears to be on the remote to control the volume and power on and of my TV. I have to use IR since the TV does not support HDMI CEC. Has anyone been able to get this working? I would be great to only need one remote.

I’m hoping to find an Android tv I can hook a mouse and keyboard up to and use as a “computer” while running the app. The Pendoo X6 pro seems to have been able to do all this but is discontinued.
