USB contents not showing up in media player apps

I have a Song A8G OLED TV and it runs Android TV and I've experienced this odd issue where the USB drive (SanDisk Extreme PRO) sometimes will not display the contents (mkv files) in any media player or file explorer app but randomly may the next day if the TV reboots. Is there some trick to get this to work?

Scenario : i have an app that contains sections : series, movies, live stream . I want when the app starts the live stream activity starts immediately instead of main menu .

Things i tried:

1- modify the apk to change the "mainActivity" to the live stream activity . after repacking the app and signing it . the app doesnt install ( i think it gets corrupted ) . i used APK Editor Studio

2- use an application like " Activity launcher" which shows you which activities included in any app and you can make a shortcut for the activity you need. However on Android TV i get the message "its not allowed to pin shortcut in this launcher"

Any help / solution is appreciated

Could someone please help with this bug? Sony select home screen after a while creates duplicate channels on home screen, as you can see in the second picture I cant delete the duplicate channel. Has anyone figured a solution?

Is the Netflix app not updating anymore?

When I go to the Play Store in my Android TV box and look for the Netflix app, I see that the last update arrived on march 31st 2022 but when I go to the Play Store website, the last update is dated august 31st 2022.

There was a previous update that didn't arrive either.

Is the Play Store failing to update the app?

Something similar happened to the Play Movies and TV app, which it wouldn't update until Google fixed it up on the server side.

Does Deezer support Hifi sound for it's google tv app?

I just downloaded the Deezer app on my Google tv and when I play a song it doesn't show me the hifi badge so wanted to make sure if it supports it or not.

Any way to disable automatic updates for individual apps on Android TVs?

I've got MX Player on a non-tech-savvy family member's Android TV (Hisense H9G), and updating the custom codec for that app is a huge pain and might as well be like piloting an actual UFO for them lol

Is it possible to just disable automatic updates for a single app, or would automatic updates have to be turned off for ALL Play Store apps?

So Homatics has a new lineup of Android TV and Google TV boxes and sticks, two with Google TV and one with what appears to be a satellite tuner built-in, all of them with the Netflix and Prime Video certifications

Prime video brings back support for Dolbyvision with "The Rings of Power". Hopefully they add more titles with DV support.

Onn 4k box remote disconnecting, new issue

I've had this guy for several months and it's been pretty solid. But this week the remote has been disconnecting while something is playing. I know there was an overheating issue in the past but I thought they fixed it with an update? Any suggestions or just buy another?

Have to reboot Android TV Box every 24 hours or Kodi won't play

I bought an Mecool KM7 Android TV Box 11.0. About every 24 hours, I have to completely reboot the device, or else Kodi stops working.

The video will load but IMMEDIATELY pauses. If I try to click the 'PLAY' button, it goes forward a single frame, and then pauses again immediately. The only solution is to reboot the entire device, then it works good for about another 24 hours. Anyone else have this problem? How do I permanently fix this? Kodi version 19.3 "Matrix" I believe.

More Info but don't know if relevant: When it was downloading updates the first time, the video playback was a little poor, then when it finished installing and rebooted, the playback quality was good again.

Would love some help with this.

ONN 4k Streaming box

Just bought this thing and after unboxing I just have a blank screen. Any ideas on how to trigger a reset? Brand new out of the box. Hooked it up and no video or sound output. Any ideas short of returning it?

Update: tried swapping the HDMI cable to a known good cable. No luck. Next I'm gonna try it on a whole different TV

Update: changing TV's worked. Now I can't get the wifi to work. Says "cannot reach internet"

Homatics Box R 4K plus or Nvidia shield pro 2019

Hi, I have a firestick 4 k max and an Intel NUC for Kodi (connected via lan to my Nas)

I would like to buy a new box for all ( streaming and Kodi)

My first choice is Nvidia shield pro 2019 but became to be old (no AV1) and second choice is Homatics box but I don't know how could be support after sale (bugs and updates)

Any suggestions ?

Sony Bravia XBR-65X850C no longer boots past "sony" logo

This is my final desperate source for help with my TV before I trash it. In the middle of watching a show the TV suddenly rebooted. After a moment the big Sony logo showed up on the screen before fading to black, and then nothing. It doesn't progress past that.

I've tried leaving it unplugged, I've tried leaving it plugged in (thinking there might be some update happening), and I've tried to do a factory reset by holding down the power and Vol - buttons when plugging in the tv (although there is no info I can find only specifically about the XBR-65X850C on sony's site for doing a factory reset, it seems like this is the way to do it for most Sony Bravias).

Trying to do the factory reset seems to do nothing different than just plugging in tv like normal: TV turns out, sony logo shows up, sony logo fades out, tv goes black and that's it.

So frustrating.

Anyone with some miracle advice?

Im deciding between nokia 8000 and chromecast with google tv. Just looking for something that can run netflix and use external drive to watch movies. TV is 1080p and no hdr.
