I travel around with an Onn Android box. Because of this, its possible for me to lose it or have it stolen. In that case, is it possible to remote factory reset my Android box? i want it to log out of all my sign in account.

Can I put a password on it so that every time it boots up, it will require a password?

I found a used unit for 40€ and I want to know how good of a deal that is.

My current setup is an old chromecast and a cheap HDMI audio extractor pluged to my amp and speakers through analog connections. Sadly, Jellyfin's (personal media server) Chromecast functionality is not working and I don't know if it will be ever working again. Android TV app on the other hand is quite good.

I understand the Mi box has its own analog (and digital) audio outputs, right?

Also it has built-in Chromecast for things like YouTube and Spotify?

Do you thing it's a good bet? Should I wait, save some more, and buy something better?

(My TV is not 4k, but I would like a box that can handle it. Better for upgraddes latter on)

For over a week my android tv has no internet connection, it says connected to wifi, no internet, even when connected to personal hotspot. The time&date isn’t correct, I tried fixing it and turning off the tv, but when I turn it back on it goes back to the same wrong date&time. Even after resetting the date&time without turning off the tv- it still doesn’t work. I have to set the date&time manually cause automatically it shows the wrong one. Any tips?

I’ve seen multiple videos of someone connect their fosmon mini keyboard to their Onn streaming device but when I try it doesn’t work. Can anyone help?

It pretty much ruins the experience for me, I've looked all over the internet and I can't get the answer. In regular Android we can disable it.

It seems like a no brainer, having a dedicated app alongside the regular streaming ones that you can control quickly with the Google TV / Firestick / Shield remote would be fantastic.

Using shield can I still adblock common video sites, or am I forced to use their apps instead? The ones I'm thinking are the UK ones Channel 4/ 4oD and ITV Player? Also will YouTube Vanced run?

When trying to download any app from play store: "That item isn't available for purchase in your region" message pops up.
As my country is not on the list when selecting tv region - I've tried selecting "other" option as well as some neighboring countries and some random ones, same result.
Tried making a fresh google account but that did not help.
Can't sideload any apps since for that I would need some file manager app which I can't get from the play store.
Don't know how to fix this issue or how to bypass play store without a third party file manager.

I just ordered an Android Stick, the X98 S500. It has full Android 11 on it. I was trying to decide between that and other devices, some of which were running Android TV. My main use of the stick is to play local video content (from HDD) via KODI or VLC. I also enjoy running other various Android programs. I'll be plugging the stick into a projector.

I've never used AndroidTV, and I'm wondering what the big differences are between boxes and sticks running AndroidTV and full Android OS ? Why does anyone prefer AndroidTV over a full Android OS set-up?

Can you run KODI and VLC on AndroidTV devices ( like on the ONN stick for instance) ?

Hello, I've been using 2017 Philips Android TV since its out and now its running android 8 but there is a problem. Im using Kodi to watch my local movies and i dont know why but Kodi cant give output at 4K Res and cant use HDR capabilities which is weird. There must be some system side restrictions but i dont know how can we bypass it. I mean after all Netflix, amazon prime and disney plus can use 4K and HDR capabilities but Kodi and most of the 3rd party apps cant use it.

I have a dongle/set-top box thing by nokia that has Android TV. I lost the physical remote and so I have been using Google Home’s built in remote instead.

Last night it started saying “full remote unavailable, make sure your streaming device has the latest software version”. It would now only allow me to change the volume.

Looking around online I saw that the remote software on the TV gets periodic updates and I should just wait for it to update in a couple hours. It’s been over 24 hours now and the remote still doesn’t work. Auto-update should be on (or at least I don’t remember turning it off).

I can still cast to the TV via Netflix/Youtube/Spotify, which is what I mainly use, but I would prefer to have the full remote back.

What can I do now? Just keep waiting?

It's just a game but what I wanted was something like changing the system-wide Ram to a fake value ram...like 1GB ram to 4GB ram.....there are many Samsung replica/clone which show 2GB Ram but true ram is 512MB....how do they do it....I need to do it like that....any help guys...??

The prices are somewhat similar, 437€ for the Xiaomi, 499€ for the Samsung

I accept what i have ..

• can i update ? It shows ( android 9.0 ) ??
• is there an app or a way that i can airplay ? There are apps in google play store but they cause latency when casting ..
• can i install tizen os or even any geniune software to it ??

I have a Chromecast With GoogleTV. I set it up to control via a Google Home Mini. My father is handicapped and can’t use his hands well enough to use remote.

Here’s my question. Our TV service is YouTube TV. When we say “Hey Google turn to ESPN” it changes to ESPN but it is being cast. If I grab remote and press home and open app it’ll be on whatever last channel watched in app is. When I am watching with him and we want to scroll through the guide to see what’s on and I select a channel it works but when he goes to change the channel by voice it leaves app and goes to casting.

Any ideas on how to always use app?
