I have this MCE remote with the USB sensor. I plugged it at the back but nothing is happening. I also tried through StbEmu mapping but it's not detecting my MCE remote.

I came to the Kodi party a few years ago and have been trying to keep myself up to date since but I've since became somewhat overwhelmed with options and somewhat fallen out of the loop. I've a miibox, I run Zion and Cinema HD primarily to catch up on TV shows and movies that Netflix doesn't have. What can I use that I don't have to spend half my night buffering or searching for links? Don't mind paying a couple quid for a premium service.

I've read about real debrid and using with these apps. What's the best combo or stand alone? I've tried researching this myself but can't seem to get a straight answer.

I have a good library of movies and TV on a home server that runs Plex and Emby. I currently stream things to my home theater by using the Plex/Emby apps on my smartphone, then using Chromecast to the TV.

I find the experience generally frustrating and less than ideal. Browsing and controlling playback via my phone is great, but fast-forward, rewind, and timestamp jumping are very slow and buggy; the film often restarts as often as it actually goes to the right spot. Also, if there's a less-than-perfect file, Plex/Emby/Chromecast often stutter terribly where VLC or WMP on a computer handle it without a hiccup.

I used to use an HTPC with pretty satisfactory results, but calibration, codec support, audio output, etc., were time consuming and frustrating.

I'm trying to find out if there's something that's just better. I'm willing to consider just about any option that offers better, more reliable performance. Wired networking is an option.

I just started learning about Android TV, and that seems like a reasonable option. I'm not sure if that'll solve the performance problems. It does seem like seek/ff/rw are better on the phone when the Chromecast isn't involved, and performance on the web client is great. Not sure about a Mi Box vs a Roku or whatever. Or something else entirely.

I want something that just works more reliably. I don't want to have to think "I want to rewind to hear that part again, but it's not important enough to risk the movie restarting."

So I'm looking for suggestions. Please help, and thanks.

i just bought this TV and European users can help me as well. your model will be 55DC760. Here is my problem.

The issue is with the Netflix app and i think it is related to the "instant power ON" mode found in the system. When I wake the TV from standby mode, the app launches but when i try to play a video, something weird happens. I hear the sound fine but there is no video. Whats weird is that i see the subtitles and Netflix overlays but the actual video does not appear.

the fix i get is to reboot the tv and then it works fine until i put the TV in stand by mode again and the same issues happen.

Just to give some info i am on oreo and on the '534' version.

Any help??

Today I booted my Raspberry Pi 2 on Android TV 6.0.1, by purchasing a RaspAnd image. Everything works reasonably well. However, I encounter a problem: I have connected my Pi 2 to the Internet through an Ethernet cable, because it doesn't support WiFi. But, when I try to connect through the official Android TV Remote app, I cannot find it. What to do? Is there any similar app that will work for me? Thanks in advance!

I have connected Bose Soundbar 500 to my Nvidia shield TV via Bluetooth.

But Bluetooth volume adjustment level is too wide, so I have sound there I think it's too quite and next step is too loud.

It can’t be the batteries in the remote as they’re only a week old.

I recently purchased a MI TV 4A Pro assuming that Netflix would work as it has official Android TV & works on MI Box.

However, as it turned out, Netflix isn't there on the Play Store.

This is when I realized that Netflix isn't supported on MI TV. I went ahead and checked for Widevine L1 support and it's definitely there!!

What could be the issue and how do i workaround this issue?

Is MI planning to add support for Prime and Netflix at a later stage?

I've had an external HDD hooked up to my Sony XF9005 since I got it last December. I was able to set things up to download to it without write permission (which I can't grant for some reason) by just mimicking the filepaths (Eg. if I wanted App X to download to the external drive I'd just create a filepath on the drive beforehand that went something like Android/data/com.AppX.ap or whatever) on Android 7, but the update to 8 has stopped this from working. Is it no longer doable or is there just a new trick to it now?

Kind of a PSA. So yesterday I found out that using Bluetooth headphones disables 4k/HDR on Netflix when using the TV's builtin Android TV app.

Thankfully, I still have my shield and 4k works fine on the shield when the headphones are connected to the TV and audio is routed to the TV from the shield.

TV is the x950G running Android TV Headphones are the Sony WH1000XM2

The new update of Prime Video (4.12.12-googleplay-armv7a) sideloaded to my TV can finally maintain 1080p quality. Though my TV is 4k, it doesn't go up to UHD. Hopefully soon.

Hi, I have the 2017 Nvidea Shield and is running fine. Only I know it has Picture in Picture capabilities. I adjusted the Settings in my MX Player but it doesn't come up and it is definately still playing the stream I selected and with sound. Does anyone have a simple solution to sort this out step by step?

Trying to use Kodi as a front-end for the wife since she is familiar with it since all my other ATV boxes in the house use it as the front end for everything. For some reason, on this particular device, I try to add my media / click on NFS share nothing comes up.

I've followed the same procedure on my Shield, Vero4K, Cheap Chinese knock-off ATV boxes, no issue, my UnRaid Shares show up.

I installed that X-Plorer file manager app that a few of you have mentioned on here. I am able to browse my LAN and see my UnRaid shares in that app without issue. So, maybe it's NOT the box but some new setting in Kodi I'm overlooking?

Brand new out of the box, the first thing I did was an attempt to update the mi box... There's only around 5gb on the device and there was only 400mb left on it... how in the world am I supposed to get the update..? Thanks

Updated TV to late to latest 8.0. Changed WiFi hotspot password on the WiFi, went to update on TV, but at the Password prompt it didn't give me a keyboard!

Connected my Android phone work Android TV app and STILL did not input characters into password prompt.

Using the Infrared remote I could type numbers and the period (.) which is still a broken thing... Who has number-only passwords these days?

Finally grabbed PC USB keyboard and plugged in, input new password successfully.

TLDR latest OS has no support for on-screen or Android App keyboard in WiFi password dialog.

Any recommendations that can use real debrid? Easier alternative to kodi for my parents.
