Hi guys,

I'm considering on getting myself a Mi Box S, however, I'm trying to confirm if the Mi Box S supports large external HDD, 1TB etc. The HDD will be used to play content from and will not be necessary to write to the HDD from the Mi Box S.

I have done some research but could not find a definite answer. Thanks in advance.

What is the best 3rd party bluetooth game controller for an android tv.

Just bought a Dupadstory Mx3 that's back-lit, mic-enabled and has IR learning. Pretty good remote, actually.

Problem is that I thought the 4 different colored buttons on the bottom are for different remotes of choice and each remote can be programmed with full functionality but it turns out that it's only those buttons are programmable. So instead of one button for my audio system and being able to fully control it, one button would power it on/off, another button for volume up and ANOTHER button for volume down and so forth.

It seems like with all the different variations of air mouse remotes it's very hard to find what I'm looking for. Please help!

At some point Pluto channels stopped working on Live Channels. I have

1. Uninstalled and Reinstalled Pluto
2. Cleared Data from Live Channels

and I still cannot get pluto channels to load into live channels - is there something I am missing? When I try to add pluto as a source - it just sits at the pluto screen with the bar at the bottom scrolling over and over.

I recently bought an Orion 40SA19FHD Android TV for my girlfriend because it was way cheaper than the equivalent Sony model. She tried to set up HBO GO on it last night and the app stated it is compatible with Sony, Samsung and LG TVs only. Is it possible to install and run the HBO GO app on an incompatible device? Or should we try screencasting instead (the apps I tried so far are also either incompatible with the TV or need another device to work)?

I am trying to get my Nexus Player to be powered from USB that is in my TV. I bought 5V to 12V adapter and DC 5.5/2.1 mm to 4.0/1.35 mm adapter and Nexus Player turns on, I can see Android logo and then Oreo launcher turns on. After 2 sec in launcher Nexus Player turns off and reboots. What am I doing wrong?

A couple of weeks back, I was unable to cast YouTube from my phone to my Sony A1 OLED (it has Android TV as it's OS), so I just left it as is and went to watching on my computer, since then I have been busy with work and haven't used the TV much until yesterday when I again could not cast from YouTube on to my TV! Everytime on my phone it says 'unable to cast to KD-A1'(the name of the TV). Even tried casting from my parents' phones but no luck either. I tried googling this issue for a solution but found none. I would really appreciate if someone could provide with a fix for this please?

A friend uses YouTube TV and so do I. He was complaining that when he switches channels when using his Roku Ultra it took at least 6 seconds. I tested this on my Nvidia Shield TV and it took less than 2 seconds. I then tried Mi Box S and it took at least as long as the Roku Ultra.

UPDATE: At the suggestion of Bodycount9 I hooked up the Mi Box S using a USB to Ethernet adapter and it made a big difference in how quickly it switched between channels on YouTube TV. It wasn't quite as good as the Nvidia Shield but it was significantly better than the Roku Ultra connected via WiFi. I then connected the Roku Ultra via Ethernet and found no improvement over WiFi.

So I bought the Box, plugged HDMI and power in, but it does not seem to boot. White indicator on the front side of the Box works and silents whenever I press a button on remote control, but none of the buttons change anything on TV's screen. Instruction says you have to simply plug everything in, but nothing happens afterwards. I tried to turn on/off Box/TV.

Okay, so I've been using my SanDisk 32gb usb drive as internal storage, for years and it worked fine, however I haven't used the Mi box from time and just recently started using to find that it doesn't detect the usb stick no more.

Very rarely it shows as connected, but nearly everytime It shows status as not connected, but clearly connected directly to the box.

I have tested on the pc and it seems to detect it fine. Not sure if it's the usb or Mi Box fault.

The drive is those tiny SanDisk usb that known for overheating.

I've also tried connecting to a Ethernet adapter with usb, but doesn't detect either.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Heard from a Best Buy rep that there's been a manufacturer's recall. Making a post about this because I was considering buying it but I'll just deal with the 55" variant. This information isn't available anywhere else period it seems but if you run across this on Google then that's why it's been pulled from both Best Buy and Amazon.

I recently bought a VU android TV from an online store. I was planning to buy tata sky DTH(it's available in India) but some users reported 1.5x to 2x fast forwarding issue in TV channels when connected to VU android TV. So I'm worried about purchasing tata sky DTH. How is it possible for a TV to fast forward a live TV channel broadcasting from a DTH?

I was looking at the nvidia shield for the past few months and the only thing that is stopping me from buying it is the age of the system. I don't want to buy a shield and then two weeks later a new system is announced. This is why I am asking.

Im having wifi issues with my mi box even tho i have a decent connection and my router is on the same room What to do guys?

I've recently noticed that audio passthrough has started breaking on my MIBox with only a reboot fixing it.

Generally I notice that it stops working in Kodi, and when it goes away all of the audio passthrough settings disappear only to return on a reboot of the box.

It seems to affect Netflix/Stan less but I have seen it happen there too however generally rebooting my receiver to renegotiate the HDMI link seems to fix it most of the time in those apps.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it related to the recent android updates, or would I be better off trying my luck in the Kodi forums?

Any suggestions? Looking for something simpler that Sony TV’s standard remote. Power On/Off and Volume a must.
