Multiple Google accounts for Google Play movies

I have searched, but can't find anything in the subject. My wife and I have separate accounts for movies and tv shows. We have an Nvidia shield and have signed into both accounts on the settings page, and synced everything. Upon entering Google Play movies/tv only my movies and shows come up. Is there a way to get both to show up? I realize she can cast but it would be really nice to combine our purchases. Thanks!

My Thomson 2018 Android TV (now TCL) doesn't change framerate, manually or automatically

I get stuttering / jerkyness / whatever it's called on all US content, because as I'm in Europe the TV display frequency is set at a fixed 50 Hz. AFAICT there's nowhere in the Android settings, the TV menu settings, or even in the hidden service menu an option to change framerate.

So this post serves as a warning, a bit of a cry for help, and a request for information if other manufacturers' Android TVs are like this (e.g. Sony's or Phillips). I guess most people don't notice, but it's quite a letdown, I watch a lot of US content on Netflix for example (like everybody else). And the NBA finals... and the jerkyness is constantly annoying.

[PSA] dreamcast Emulator "redream" is in play store now

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.recompiled.redream&hl=en_US

Just like its desktop version, it's free if you only use Dreamcast's native render resolution. Support for upscaling internal render resolution costs $6 on Android. I am not sure at this point if $6 will also give you access to premium features in desktop version, which costs $5 on their website (https://redream.io/premium). It's probably better to wait for confirmation and do some performance & compatibility tests before deciding to fork out the money. Also, redream does NOT require Dreamcast BIOS files (but you can use one if you want to).

Android TV is not officially supported yet. But it works fine on Shield TV with sideloading. It has a Leanback launcher. Control pad works with UI navigation and is mapped correctly to Dreamcast controller. I only tested "Crazy Taxi 2" and "Shenmue" so far and they both work perfectly. If you have tested other games, please share your results or comparison against Reicast.

It doesn't work on Mi Box right now. Won't launch at all. Reicast does work on Mi Box, although not great.

Here is a preview video from ETA Prime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGGlFm9l85c

Update 1: compatibility list for desktop version: https://redream.io/compatibility

Just keep in mind that game compatibility of Android version may differ.

Update 2: v1.0.1 now officially supports Shield TV and can be installed from Play Store directly.

Using real BIOS file: A few games need real Dreamcast BIOS file to work properly because the default HLE (high-level emulation) BIOS is not perfect yet (https://gitlab.com/inolen/redream/issues?scope=all&utf8=%E2%9C%93&state=opened&search=hle+bios). BIOS file should be named "boot.bin" and put inside "/mnt/sdcard/Android/data/io.recompiled.redream/files/" folder. With real BIOS, you can also manage VMUs with "System -> Boot to BIOS".

Very old LED TV

HI guys,

I'm not sure if I'm in the correct section but I'll be glad if you can help me with my problem

I just bought a mi box - the latest one, mi box 3 (literally hours new) and I was able to set it up. Upon seeing that the resolution is set to 480 (default), I have tried changing it to 720. After the attempt, it went black and says "not support".

-I have tried removing the hdmi and putting it back -Also removing the power source -Same with the hard reset.

I can't change the resolution back to 480 since I'm unable to boot the mi box and not showing anything aside from the "Not support".

Thanks in advance for the help.

UPDATE: Issue is now resolved. I hooked it up to a different tv that supports 720 and put it back to 420. Thanks for the help.

HP printer on Android TV (Sony) - is it possible ?

Hi.

My printer - an old HP laserjet 1018 has only got USB input.

As my Android TV is the only network device in my house that is powered on 24/7 and has got a USB port, I was thinking it would be the obvious choice for a print server in order to share my printer on the network.

Any idea on how to make that work ?

Prime Video Playback Controls

Am I the only one here completely frustrated with Prime's playback controls? You need to use the dpad to navigate to the button you want (play pause forward back) and select them all manually with the center button and to add insult to injury, forward and back are archaic VHS Era fast forward and rewind style? And the thumbnail and progress bar only update like once per second so you have to completely guess how far it's gone between those updates. I always overshoot when I'm trying to scrub to a certain point. It's so frustrating to use! (I recently got a remote with dedicated forward and back buttons so that improves things slightly but it's still a horrific guessing game of how far you've skipped)

And on top of that, if you leave a video paused for more than a minute or two, the whole app just closes. Hulu and YouTube are the best at this, bringing you right back to the paused screen after you dismiss the Screensaver but most others will at least bring you back to the video's details page and let you resume with one click. But for Prime Video, you have to reopen the app, find your video again (at least it's usually still in the "Watch next" section) select it, and then select again that you want to resume, and then usually find it lost your progress forcing you to play with those terrible FFW/RW controls again...

How is this acceptable? I've left them feedback about it but I'm not holding my breath that anybody will ever see it let alone do anything. Then I found out on some other platforms the FFW/RW are more modern skip by 10 seconds type of controls... Why does Amazon hate us?

Android box won't connect to internet wired or wireless - please help

Hoping someone here can shed some light on a situation I just can't figure out. I just got internet installed at my cottage and I'm here for the first weekend of the season. Brought along my H96 Pro Plus android box for tv (since that's what I got internet here for). This box was connected at home and never gave me an issue.

I can't get internet on it at all. I can connect to the wireless router easy enough, but the wifi logo on the screen has an 'x' in the lower right corner (not an exclamation point).

I can connect an ethernet cable from the router to the box but that does nothing. I can go in and turn wifi off, but I can't see anywhere in the settings where wired internet is mentioned at all. Again, I get no internet.

I have two Linksys WRT54G routers here I've tried, both with DD-WRT firmware, and two ethernet cables. I thought maybe this box doesn't work with 802.11g wifi but the specs say it does. I've been through the settings a hundred time and re-booted the box and router at least a dozen. There's nothing on the internet I can find that mentions a wifi icon with an 'x'.

I bypassed the router and plugged the ethernet cable from the modem directly into the box but still no go.

Can someone please give me some suggestions that will save my weekend?? Thanks in advance.

Prime Video for Android TV

I saw a post a month or so ago talking about how Google and Amazon had mended their friendship and that Prime Video app would be made available for Android TV. I can see the app in the Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.amazonvideo.livingroom) but it shows as unavailable for my two ATV boxes. One is a Nexus Player and the other is a Mibox 3.

Does anyone have Prime Video running on either a Nexus Player and/or Mibox 3?

Toshiba 4K Android TV Shuts down instead of going to standby when pressing power Button

I recently purchased a Toshiba Android Tv (model: 49u7750Ve). The tv would go to normal standby/sleep upon pressing the power button and resume it's activity when turned back on - like normal TVs.

But after upgrading the firmware to android 8.0R1, the Tv would only give the option of shutting itself down when pressing the power button and would take a good 30 secs to boot back up. The sleep/standby option has magically disappeared. Moreover, the bluetooth remote won't work when TV is shut.

Any solutions?

Sleep timer on AndroidTV TVs (like Sony, Philips, TCL)

Hi! I have a TCL C2US which came with Android TV 6.0 and no sleep timer options which is a must have for me. Then the manufacturer upgraded it to 7.0 and they put a setting under Screensaver, but having to set it everytime it's kind of annoying, and this has not changed after oreo update.

I'm looking for an app that turns off screen an hour after my last interaction. I wonder how this works in Sony and Philips displays. Do you have the same problem? Any solution?

(Additionally I've made an app for this but having some trouble with turning screen off without root)
