An update to the VUDU app for the Shield is in the Google Play Store. It is listed as v 5.0.121. I have not had a chance yet to test it to see if it resolves the ATMOS issue that was caused by the previous update and, as is typical, “what’s new” simply lists “Bug fixes and stability improvements”.

Hi, I've bought MiBox TV S and I love it, but its remote control doesn't have Channel+ and Channel- button which really sucks.

I'm using app SledovaniTV (IPTV provider in our country) and in this app you can't browse through channel with arrows/dpad but with Channel+ and Channel- (or you have to navigate through EPG which is annoying).

So I tried to use HDMI-CEC with my 9 year old Samsung TV which has Anynet+. Everything works, dpad, colors, numbers work. But Ch+ and Ch- just change source to DVB-T/TV tuner and change channel there.

When I used Raspberry Pi with kodi Ch+ and Ch- worked normally as intended there

I know I can use Channels app, but then I loose timeshift/recording.

Can someone please help me? To get TV remote control to work or send me link to some normal remote control with channel buttons which will work with MiBox?

So I’m looking into getting an android tv and I’m fully aware that nvidia shield is the best, but at the moment I cannot justify the price point. Does anyone have any experience with some of the most latest android tv’s when using moonlight to run games at 1080p 60, or even 4K?

I have a Mi Box S and a SHIELD and have both setup in the Google home app to display my Google photos in ambient mode, but it has never worked until today. Photos are showing up perfectly on the Mi Box S, but they don't appear on the SHIELD. Both apps are up to date? Anyone have any idea when this functionality will finally come to the SHIELD?

Recently, I ran into a problem with my 2015 Sony BRAVIA XBR55X850C. It's still running Android 7 and an old Leanback Launcher.

If I try to re-arrange app tiles or delete/uninstall apps on the screen, I am unable to "coomplete" the operation because there is no DONE button visible to press on the screen. Also, this causes the wallpaper background to disappear and gets replaced with a blue-grey solid color. I have to go settings, apps and force stop the Leanback Launcher to get back the wallpaper.

This happened before and only way I was able to restore Leanback Launcher functionality is to Factory Reset the TV set but, as you can imagine, it is a major PIA. I'll try to capture the video and post it what's going on later on, if it's possible.

Any advice on what I can do to restore the Leanback Launcher functionality without the Factory Reset?

i know there are lots of articles comparing 8.1:9.0 regarding smartphones, but i could not find any specific to TV boxes so I thought I'd ask here. i'm trying to decide between two $70usd boxes (a95x max -or- km9 pro * ) where the 8.1 has more hardware features that i like than the 9.0 has. ideally if i could count on the 8.1 upgrading to 9.0 later, this would be no brainer, but unfortunately Android updates can't be counted on to do this.
any insights regarding the Android version impact on a TV box would be appreciated.

No clue how or when this started but for my phone the TV always asks to enter the pairing code in. My girlfriend and my iPad never ask this (it’s more of a one and done type situation). I have tried restoring my phone and I guess I will restore the TV but does anyone have any ideas to why this is occurring?

[SOLVED] it appears something corrupted in my phones data and was transferring over during restores. I setup my phone as a new device and now it works perfectly (ironically other apps work better too).

I am running a web URL on my andriod TV via the puffin browser.

The problem is that the screen saver keeps reappearing after two hours and the TV I am using does not allow me to disable the screensaver.

Is there any way I can override the screensaver.

Like the screensaver doesn't come when I'm playing youtube.

Guys is driving me nuts, my nvidia contoller is ghost inputting up on the analog stick... messing youtube/netflix/kodi stuff up. slightly but annoyingly.

Years ago there was analog "calibration" software to teach the host to compensate that "ghost input".... havent found anything like it on AndroidTV.

Anyone know a good place to find a list of benchmarks (Antutu, 3DMark, etc)? I was looking into buying a new box (I have a Mi Box S right now but it doesn't appear to perform very well).

Otherwise, can anyone recommend a good box? I was looking at getting the Nvidia Shield but I was wondering if it's still the best thing out there considering its hardware is a couple years old now.

And if so, which one would you recommend and why?

So I just got a Xiaomi Mi Box S after using my PS4 as my main YouTube and Netflix etc steaming machine for years and I've run into an annoying difference. On PS4 I get one ad every video at the start. That's it. I start up YouTube to try out my new Mi box and watch a 13 minute video, I get the usual ad at the start and then a bit in I get another (very quick) ad. Did I just pay $100 for a lesser experience than I get on my PS4? Is this just how it is or are there ways around it?

What does everyone think is the best Android box you can buy in UK? Currently looking at DroiX - are they any good, what's the remote like? Price not really a problem for a good product. Just tried a Leelel Q4 box and it was crap. That's going back to Amazon.

Most of what I watch is pass through dolby audio, which you can't control with Nvidia shield volume control. It kind of makes these remotes worthless when I need another remote just for the sound.

I am trying to use the live tv app because the HDHomeRun is terrible but it constantly asks me to setup network tuner even after I already did it. I don’t understand why this built in app is so buggy.

We have 3x TCL 49" Android TVs wall mounted in our office which are all linked to a splitter/amplifier which goes back to a single headless Windows PC. We sometimes use these to watch sports while we work or cast videos to for staff/customers to watch etc. Most of the time they sit there off doing nothing. Recently it occurred to me it'd be good to use the TVs as large digital photo frames, whereby the TV's would automatically power up and start playing a photo screensaver from the headless PC, from a folder of images I've selected. This seems like it would be pretty simple to do in Windows, what I'm less sure about is how to get the Android TVs to automatically wake up and turn off at certain times on certain days. Ideally what I'd like is if say the 3 TVs all turned themselves on around 8.30am, picked up the source of the headless PC which is set to start it's photo screensaver after say 5 minutes, then the TVs shut themselves down about 5.30pm each Monday to Friday (not on weekends, nobody is in the office).

Absolute newbie in relation to the Android OS in TV’s here. Planning on buying a 2nd hand 49X75F that is only 5mths old and in perfect nick. Do I have to be sure that all accounts have been logged out of and I won’t encounter any locked features due to previous owner perhaps still logged in ? As I said absolute newbie with regards to Android anything but choosing this OS due to all the positive reviews I read when compared to WebOs and Tizen. Thanks in advance.

Hi all. My Sony TV KD-43X7500F has a problem and I hope somebody can help me. After sideloading some apps I was able to close it last night without any problem. This morning as I started it, it goes on a loop. After reaching the home screen it restarts without giving me a chance to go to a menu. And it is in a loop like this. Now I want to factory reset it. Does anybody know the combination in the remote control to give me a screen to reset it? Thanks a lot and I will appreciate it very much.

Hi. I've just got an android tv box running android tv 7. It is Google certified. What games and apps should I install to make it run well. I do find the lack of the chrome and Firefox browsers a pain.. The limited Android TV play store does take some getting used to. I'm struggling to find decent games especially. I do have a Bluetooth gamepad.
