Seen similar posts here however I cannot seem to get the issue fixed.

It randomly rebooted other day and got stuck on mi logo. Tried to do factory reset but still the same. I looked up some posts here and online got the firmware and tried to install that. Now still doing the same.

What Android TV box do you use? Can it be upgraded to latest (Pie) Android TV? Does it have Google play store out of the box?

Prime Video Android TV APK doesn't work on my Mi Tv 4A

So workaround is playing the content on prime video website on chrome.. tv shows work fine but when any movie is played, there are black borders ALL sides (top bottom left right) not just top and bottom and the video is shrunk..

Any creative ideas to bypass this? I tried force zoom setting in chrome and accessibility magnification also doesn't work?

I am trying to understand why I get ABC, Fox, CBS, and NBC HD and Telemundo HD with InstaTV (hardware decoding B) but I only get ABC, NBC, CBS HD, Fox SD on the other apps.

It's at the point I can't use live channels though I prefer the interface.

Anyone else having issues with the YouTube app on mi box? Get the “Can’t connect right now” error. Other apps (Netflix/Kodi/etc) working fine.

I’ve tried restarting. Any other tips for troubleshooting?

I have noticed after a android play store home screen update I am having the following issues. The play next channel row has disappeared from my home screen. I also noticed some some other customized channels like Haystack have disappeared after reboot. Any one else having the same issues

The title is my frustration summarized . The Mi Box was functioning properly until a week or two ago when it received an update. It was a little laggy but still usable. It would freeze in standby occasionally and I would have to pull power and plug it back in. I did a factory reset after the Oreo update just because it always seems to be a good idea after a major update was released.

I got home from work on Friday and went to go on YouTube and the TV read no signal. I pulled the power and restored it and when it tries to boot it displays the initial Mi Box screen and just sits until it eventually turns off. Using GoogleFu, I found that holding the "OK button" and "back" button when restoring power allows you to get into the boot loader to clear cache, factory reset, etc. I tried to clear cache to no avail and than did a factory reset. It worked! or so it seemed. It worked for less than a day, frooze and had to pull the power again. Now I am having the same issue where it just sits at the Mi Box screen when its initially plugged in.

If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated. I am currently using a Playstation 3 to consume media and this is less than optimal. FirstWorldProblems.

I recently bought a cheap Akai tv on sale for $300 and it runs a really bad version of android, just a skin of 4.4 to make it usable with a remote. Its actually not as bad as you might think but I was wondering if there is anyway to root it or something and install proper android tv on it.

Can anyone get fx plus to work on Android TV? It days you need Comcast, but that isn't True anymore. You can use it with YouTube TV like I do on my roku. Any advice?

For some reason, the twitch channels that have language restriction are basically telling me my keyboard or system is not in English. I have made sure all my related keyboards and system language is English but I'm still having the issue.

any ideas?

Should I install Kodi on my MiBox? Or should I just use something like VLC? (I've got a NAS with music and video's on it)

Edit (to answer some questions): I have a 1080p tv, stereo sound system with a baas box. I enjoy watching movies, preferably in high quality. I also listen to music. My internet is around 50 megabit per second, but I do have to share it sometimes. And I'll use Google cast to watch normal TV. (ITV app on phone)

I'm sure this has been answered before, is there anyway to fix this. I tried streaming a 1080p file in one of my clouds and realized there was buffering. Did a speed test and only get 20mb/s, I pay for 150 mb/s and all my devices in my house reach either the 150 or even above. The mibox just seems utter slow. Is there anyway to fix it without the usb Ethernet because my router is near but not near enough for a cable.
