Google Music Previous/Next song Control

Hi, I have Google Music on my android tv (Philips). To switch to next song you need to use onscreen button (so on the remote need to click left/right to select "Next song" button on the screen and then press [ok] to press that button). Is there any way to switch next/previous song via remote control with one press only? any remote app for android phone? anything?

There are no Next / Previous buttons on the remote. It has only left/right, pause/play, rewind/fast forward.

Google Remote / Philips Tv Remote / Mi Remote apps for android all have only left/right and rewind/fast forward too...

Is there any chance to control google music remotely?

NordVPN seems ineffective lately?

Hey guys,

I used the NordVPN app for a while and it always worked just fine, I used it to watch "RaiPlay" and "DPlay" (italian apps).

Now it's been few weeks that both apps don't seem to want to work, I tried to tweak the NordVPN app settings but nothing helps.

If I use the NordVPN app on my PC the websites of RaiPlay and DPlay work just fine so I don't think there's any special detection in place that blocks the VPN.

Anyone had a similar experience?

Google play music not searchable app

I have an nvidia shield tv and have a lot of trouble using the Google assistant to control / play music with Google play music.

I read that one thing to check is to make sure that it is selected as a searchable app.. However, Google play music is not listed. But Google play movies and TV is.

Any idea what could be wrong?

The issue being faced

Beyond the stock apps, I have sling, kodi(gaia), Amazon, hulu, netflix. I am shocked by how many blocked ad-based sources are blocked. If you look at the picture, that is 13 in under a minute.

Anyone else running into this same issue? More so curious if I have something rogue running in the background or this is common.

S0undTV - Android TV client for Twitch

2018-09-20: EDIT:

After review, S0undTV - Android TV Twitch client, com.s0und.s0undtv, has been removed from Google Play because of an unauthorized use of copyrighted content.

EDIT2: Resubmitted the app at CET ~12:00

EDIT3: It's back up!

2018-09-24: Got removed, once again, same thing.

2018-09-24 - 9PM: Resubmitted

2018-09-24 -11PM: It's up again (for a while?)

We finally reached this day!

After some beta testing, i can release the app. Thank you for those who participated in the beta testing, hopefully we gonna have a smooth launch.

  • You can install the app from the Desktop Play Store: LINK

  • or search for 'S0undTV' in the Android TV Play store.

I still keep the Beta channel for the future with regular updates, so if you want more frequent updates (and possible bugs) you can opt-in: HERE. If you were part of the beta testing, and don't want to be part of it anymore, you can opt-out with the same link.

Planned, upcoming features (pretty much in this order):

  • search

  • user profiles to be able to access VODs, clips

  • VOD playback with resume (don't expect chat)

  • Improved chat start up time, faster emote parsing.

  • Be able to write to chat (currently, it's read-only)

  • Access to followed channels, be able to favorite them, and order them by this.

  • Picture-in-picture

  • Channel specific chat settings? with more chat options like, chat in the top corners.

  • Recommendation service, so you can access 'Featured' or 'Followed' channels on the home screen.

Is there a way to put MiBox to sleep, and wake it using an android remote app?

I'm currently using Android TV Remote Control (by google), and there's no 'power' option to put MiBox to sleep. I also tried waking it up by connecting the app to the box, but it won't connect when the box is asleep.

Are there any other Android app that can be used as a remote that has this function?

Poor video quality with Adroid Box (Tbee)

I bought a android box Tbee (spec: http://www.tbee.com/) but all videos that I try to play (from netflix, youtube, kodi...) look blurry/pixelated. I tried everything that I could (Internet connection is ok, HDMI cable is ok, box resolution 4k60hz, changed to 1080p60hz), I cant figure out a solution for this issue. My TV is a LG smart TV 4k ( LG 50UK6300 ), if I put some video from netflix straight from the TV app it works very well. Someone can help me?

What minimum bandwidth to send 4KHDR content via wifi? (possible with old wifi a/b?)

Hello,

What is the minimum bandwidth needed for HEVC 4K HDR 10bits (of course 4:2:0, basically just for HDR 4K) ?

I have an entry level nas that usually via my router via wifi send data at max 6/7MB/s. I'm not sure I could use the nas (synology), with an android tv to read directly content from it.

I think not because even on my macbook pro, for some high bitrate movies (not 4K), reading over my nas can result in a bit of slutering (or feeling that the FPS are very very low).

But maybe it's just because my macbook and not my nas? i guess not because my macbook play the same file well when copied to his internal ssd. Howe ever if you are aware of solution with android tv + nas via wifi, i'm interested. Maybe I need to put a SSD in the NAS (it use HDD), maybe I need a more powerful NAS, or even maybe i didn't understood well data needed and I need a better router with wifi ac (but doubt it since you guys say that you play smoothly 4KHDR10 movie from usb2 port of your android tv).

Scientific data :

So as far I understood, HEVC codec for 4K take maximum 8Mbps, which make exactly 1MB/s.

As far as understood, USB usually have speed like 20Mbps, that make more than 2MB/s.

As far as I understood, wifi a have similar speed to USB 2, so again more than 1.5MB/s sure.

My entry level Synology Nas (ds115j) is equiped with a NAS rated 500GB HDD, and connected to my router via ethernet. My router doesn't do Wifi .ac, but Wifi N 300mbps max I think.

Usually when I copy file from my Nas to my laptop via wifi, I have data speed transfer around 6MB/S or maybe more (not more than 8 I think).

How to watch 4KHDR content from camera with android tv?

hello so I'm just new in this world.

I just learned recently about what can do an android tv, but I still don't really understand well how it work.

basically, my need are to find a device that can output 4KHDR content that I have on my non 4K compatible laptop (or external drive) to my 4KHDR10 TV.

So i was first looking to build a compatible pc to use as an HTPC, in order to have the horsepower necessary to decode 4KHDR content (that my MacBook Pro don't have).

Then, cheaper solution I see android tv can do that job. But what I really don't understand is the following :

So let's say my content is in 4KHDR, HLG. It's so require HDMI 2.0a to be sent to the tv, what for example XIAOMI BOX 3 seems to support. But there is no hard drive in the mi box! If I send the content from wifi from my computer, it's not possible, the wifi bandwidth is not large enough like HDMI 2.0a is, exactly 18Gbps max (for HDMI 2).

Neither ethernet is, ethernet is 1gbps.

So, android tv is useless for that application ? And also, how should an android tv work in hdr, since for example if you watch netflix, you are loading from internet, so there is no doubt 18gbps signal is not possible, and even if the box would cache the data before for you to start the movie after, there is so small disk space in the box compare to UHD content that that doesn't make sense.

I understand it should be made for ultra compressed content. But does that mean than true 4KHDR10 is not possible with android tv? only compressed 4Khdr? confusing for me because if it's the case, then why would it need hdmi 2.0.

I guess maybe it act with netflix and other 4Khdr streaming service like this : download a part of the movie, showing it, and then erasing that part you just show to fill it with the rest of the movie.

The mi Box is turning into a piece of shit :)

I was actually completely happy with the device until I made the horrible choice to install the update a couple months ago.

It's gradually getting slower and laggier, the wifi keeps disconnecting. Netflix has problems streaming shows in 4K (titles that usually have 4K available don't show that option on most days, only HD. Some days later it will show 4K again and then back to only HD again).

Also, the remote doesn't stay connected and the voice search is unbearably slow or just doesn't work at all. The sluggishness of the device is probably the factor that causes the most anger.
