So... I asked a question in this sub about 2 days ago about how to transfer files directly to my android tv box over the network... and it worked! For about a day...

Now, the internal drive of my Shield shows up on my desktop, with a little x through it, and I've restarted both my PC and my Shield, to no avail. Whenever I click on the 'internal' drive of my shield I get popups saying "An error occured while connecting Z: to (//IP/internal) Microsoft Windows network: The local drive name is already in use. This connection has not been restored"

and :"An error occured while reconnecting Z: to (//IP/internal) Microsoft Windows Network: The network path was not found. This connection has not been restored."

Again, I feel like I'm missing something simple, but I'm not sure what.

Can I have kodi read my phone as a storage place when on wifi?

Is it possible to have a phone charged, connected via hdmi and have a rii mini i8 keyboard to control it? I have a firestick and you can change it into a fire tv by buying an otg cable. I was wondering if you can do something similar. Thanks!

Seems we are stuck with the Mi Box (iffy reviews) and the Shield (expensive if you only want the Android TV use).

I'm hoping Google will come through, but I doubt it. Is there any other companies working on box? Is there anything to look forward to with Android TV outside of OEMs shipping with it built in?

I have been tempted lately to upgrade my Mi Box to a Nvidia Shield TV. But from the looks of it, the shield tv still does not support framerate switching for apps such as Netflix or Youtube. I'm not sure if Android TV is the underlying issue here, or just lazy app developers that have yet to implement the support to take advantage of this.

Because of this, i might have to consider an Apple TV 4K instead. But i would rather not, since i would miss some of the features such as sideloading apps, chromecast etc. I'm also not in the Apple ecosystem, so i currently have no devices that can integrate with an Apple TV.

Is there any word yet on when we can expect framerate switching for these apps?

How can I permanently stop the screen from flickering GREEN and the audio from dropping out whenever the box comes back on from off or standby?

The screen takes about 10 seconds to resolve and the audio is only restored after going into the audio settings. But this is a workaround and not a fix.

I haven't been able to cast YouTube to my Sony Bravia for the last few days. I'm wondering if it's related to the last software update. Casting other apps works fine but YouTube doesn't work from my phone or my laptop. Anyone else having this issue?

Hi there, I've got an intl. mibox running latest version 8.0.0 and I'm having trouble connecting any controllers (to use thru ePSXe and steamlink)

I have USB dongle plugged in that I connect ethernet thru and has 3x USB 2.0 ports—one with a USB drive for storage, one a logitech wireless receiver for my K400 and then another free.

No matter which controller I try plugging into this dongle or even with the dongle removed and straight into the box it won't show up. I've tried an aftermarket SNES USB controller, PS4 controllers (both wired and thru bluetooth), an XBOX one controller (USB and bluetooth) and an XBOX 360 controller (wired only) and none of them seem to show up

The weird thing is that the logitech keyboard shows up without fail, so atm the moment I'm currently playing with that.

Has anybody had any similar issues or could shed some light on anything that might fix? is there an appp i've got installed that might be interfering or would a factory reset help? Thanks

I have a ShieldTV and I am having trouble manually installing a self signed cert. Has anyone else been able to do this? I'm getting a message that says cert not installed when attempting to use the Android certificate installer.

Title. Thing thing shows so much promise. 4K playback with Plex and Emby are great. What are some other uses that Shield can do, that other devices (Apple TV, Roku, etc.) can’t do? Or just cool things they can all do?

So after using a modified version of the Fire TV DIRECTV NOW app for months on my Nvidia Shield and Xiaomi Mi Box it finally stopped being able to update. I got tired of trying to constantly find the latest modded versions and hoping they work. Hopefully AT&T will work with Google and release an official version. Until then I'll be using Sling TV from now on.

I have ATV in my new Bravia X900F and I want to make sure I'm watching movies in UHD on Google Play Movies. The YouTube app has a quality switcher so I know I'm in 4K, but I can't find one in the GPM app.

Worst case, I guess I can stick to YouTube or cast from my phone as I believe this TV has a Chromacast Ultra built in, but I'd prefer to use the Play Movies app if possible.

I've installed Showbox from Aptoide and Bobby Movie from it's website, I can use them through Apps list from Settings but they do not show up Home Screen. I have no problems on other 3rd party apps such as teatv, streamio etc. showing on Home Screen.

I am a Kodi veteran so I'm not terrible with this kind of stuff but it seems no matter what set of instructions i follow to download the ShowBox APK it doesnt work. I'll get as far as clicking the Install button after download when I get a message saying "ShowBox did not install".

Does anyone here know of a valid source for the ShowBox APK or a link with legit instructions to get it on my box? Doing a Google search brings up loads of links but they seem deceptive and the ones that have seemed legit fail upon install.

Both my PC and my android box are on the same wireless network, if that is any help. I know I can use chromecast to cast files to my tv, or share a folder and have apps like kodi access them... but I am wondering if there is a way to just send the files directly to the android box... I've got a 128GB usb added as 'internal storage' on the android box, and well... my PC gets full really fast. I know I can do it with USB stick, which is what I've been doing all this time, but I'm wondering if there is a way to just wirelessly send the files to the the android box via the network, so that I don't have to keep the files on my PC.

Has anyone managed to get HDR content on Netflix on the Mibox 3? 4k plays fine after the latest Oreo update (fix), but the HDR tag is not even showing. The weird thing is that on other apps like Plex it's working great.

Hey, just got a Philips TV with Ambilight and I'm looking for an app that shows visuals on the screen that go along with the music, so that I could then combine that with ambilight. The Google Play store only shows one app and it's not free..
