My gen 1 16gb Shield just past few weeks began dropping internet connection once in awhile. It is on strong 5ghz signal and will say internet connected and excellent wifi signal, but no apps can connect online until I restart. Happening once a week or so. I've already factory reset it and it did not help.

Any other suggestions?

I'm using an asus rtac68u and my modem is arris tm822. When it happens, all other wifi devices are unaffected.

I’m fully aware that I may be the only one on this subreddit who uses go90, but it’s surprisingly good for streaming live sports for free (Soccer in particular). I sideloaded it to my Nvidia Shield and it works well enough with an air mouse, no issues with streaming whatsoever.

The problem I am having is with the content being streamed being cut-off. There is an annoying top bar that appears over the video, forcing the image down and cutting off the content at the bottom. This same bar appears on a phone or tablet when the device is being held vertically, however when the device is held horizontally the image should go full screen. On a mobile device this works perfectly... on my Shield not so much. I have the force rotation app installed which should be telling the app that my “device” is being held horizontally but for some reason the top banner just doesn’t disappear.

Anyone else run into this problem? Or have any guesses to fix it?

I'm am running 6.0 and the mi box when sent a YouTube cast opens the YouTube app and just shows a black screen which is one that youll see when you first play a YouTube video.

Any ideas?

I loved the idea of using it as a lite Netflix, crunchyroll box with casting abilities but now I'm not so sure

So, i got a new soundbar from work as a gift for the holidays. Not really a fan of those things but when you get it for free, you'll take it ... So i thought i might as well use it with my mi box, but when i go to Remote & Accessories and trying to add it, it just keep searching for it. When i search it on my phone (HTC U11) it shows up immediately and connecting with no problems. I have 2 Mi Box, 3 and 3s, both won't recognize the soundbar ...

I don't think the soundbar is of a known design - Simply Sound SISSB208

Anyone has the Prime Now 3.0.223.23841 apk for Android TV? Specifically, for Mi Box or Google Nexus Player?

It's really sick to keep hunting for these latest versions as Amazon and Directv Now doesn't want to support Android TV although xda'ers are able to modify it to play for the TV! We, the customers, have to keep hunting for these versions and wonder when it's going to stop... SMH!

Did the YouTube app get updated? The in-video menu looks different.... And better. But I can't tell if I'm crazy and it's been this way for a while or not. It reminds me a little of the YouTube TV design.

Want to confirm that launchers like TVLauncher and HAL launcher cannot be the default home launcher correct? So in order for me to see my sideloaded apps, I will need to manually launch the launcher and open the sidelaoded apps?

Today, in Fire TV, I see that Directv Now Beta was updated to a new version 2.0.11.01139. Anyone has this version modded for Mi Box 3? Maybe, Shield got updated to this version and if someone can pull it, much appreciate your effort.

I have side loaded the Directv App for tablets onto my MiBox and I am able to use with mouse/keyboard but the video playback is very choppy. Anyone else having same issue?

DirecTV Now Beta 2.0.10.06114 (17 April 2018) apk broke this morning (02 May 2018) saying an update was required. Choosing Update Now takes me back to the Home screen with a message saying there isn't an app that can do this. Same message on both generations of the nVidia Shield.

Anyone know if there is a newer version out there?
