I have a Sony Bravia X930C Android TV. I have been experiencing problems watching certain Live streams (especially gaming ones) on the YouTube app. They just won't load. It was working fine a couple of days back. Some live streams do work but most of the gaming live streams are not loading at all. Also on the YouTube app when I go to Browse Channels and click on "Gaming", it errors out with 504 error (gateway timeout). I enabled Stats for Nerds and tried loading it again but it wasn't really helpful. (no dropped frames or anything). I tried Factory data reset, deleting cache, deleting account off the TV but nothing works.

Now I don't know if this is a coincidence or what but around the time this problem started happening, I had installed YouTube Gaming app on my tablet on the same google account that I am using on my Android TV. Not sure if this could anyway cause any issues or if it is some YouTube back-end issue with bad timing (?).

Anyone else seeing this problem? Also does anyone know where I can get support to get this issue resolved? YouTube support seems very generic.

Edit: It has been working since a couple of days. Seems like the issue was fixed on the backend.

Hey guys, this may be a dumb question/ already asked(I did a quick search but nothing came up) Im looking into getting a android box but I really only watch sports. Ive heard lots of mixed reviews saying that watching sports on these boxes suck/no HD. Is that true ? if not which box should I buy to get HD sports.

Bought a HDHomerun Prime a week ago and installed the view app on my shield to use the Live Channels app. The last week has been great, but I check today and theres no info on channels or program data. I tried going into the View app and theres nothing to refresh the data.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Very new to all this, just got the box today, trying out Mobdro - seems alright, but I just want to lay back and channel surf, flick through the channels

Is there any app out there that I can select a "basket" of channels, and then just be able to flick through them with a one button touch (instead of having to exit and rechoose a channel)

I'm interested mainly in the UK channels (BBC's, ITV's, Channel 4, etc)

I've had the MiBox off and on for a while (I get frustrated with lack of certain apps and return it and eventually pick it up again), and I'm in the cycle right now where I want to pick one up again. But to my surprise, the Walmart I frequent has none in stock, and has not had any for more than a month. I went to other WMs in the area and most were the same. I did find one WM with one MiBox on the shelf.

Has the MiBox been discontinued? Or is there just a shortage right now?

Just got myself a new Bravia TV, it has Android TV.

The Google Play store on the TV is laughable (Running Nougat). It only shows about 10 apps per 4 categories.

Is there a nice list of AndroidTV apps I can download from somewhere? I've found a few by googling, but not having much luck.

I have an Nvidia Shield TV and use ES File Explorer as my file manager. Normally I would never be caught dead using this app but there aren't as many file manager apps for Android TV as there are for phones, nevertheless ones that are as comprehensive as ESFX.

In ESFX there are 2 ways that I know you can change your theme.

The first is to click the theme button. The app has however put it behind some kind of app download lock to where you don't get the feature unless you download one of their sponsored apps. I would have no problem doing this but unfortunately app linking to the Play Store isn't supported on Android TV and the interface is not optimized for Android TV so I cannot click on it even if I wanted to.

The second option is to download a theme on the Play Store. This is also not available.

Does anyone know how to get around this annoying issue or perhaps is there an app for Android TV that rivals ESFX in functionality?

The Basics: Easy way to free up memory and space on your android tv.

I have my mi box set to never sleep and I set up daydream, but when I try to use it the first time each day(after quite a few hours if not using it), it won't turn on and I can't control it with HDMI cec so I have to unplug and plug in my mi box to get it to turn on again. It also won't allow me to cast anything to it in this state. I have lost my original mi box remote so I can't use that to control it. Is there any way I can set the mi box to not go to sleep or does anyone know the ir codes for the mi box so I can set it to directly turn the mi box on with my remote?

I currently have a mibox 4k (model# MDZ-16-AB). It was used mostly as a kodi box and mostly left on 24/7. About a week ago it started acting up by random green screen but now I don't get any picture at all. The white light comes on and I've reset multiple times to no avail. Can't seem to get into recovery with back key and center "ok" key. Is there anything I can do or is it broken? I'll try any advice I can get. Thanks in advanced.

Is there any way of getting this app onto a 2017 NVidia Shield? and also is there a place where I can find Android TV-ready apps for side loading such as ITV Hub? I've seen that that can be extracted from Fire TV.

Goal: To find an app (or other solution) to easily sleep my ShieldTV from within Kodi. I'm thinking an apk that brings up a remote navigable power menu with sleep settings.

Maybe it will help someone: 100% non scientific, but if you format the USB drive directly from the USB port of the Xiaomi Mi Box (with the 6.0.1 update), it works. I tested with three drives, they all worked: that is, formatting went ok, the device recognizes the drive as adoptable storage. I had been doing it thru a USB hub, and had a lot of issues. You can replug the USB drive thru the hub once it is formatted and Android doesn't mind.

Hello, I have a question for those who have IPTV apps on your tv. I am subscribed to Zazeen tv and I have an STB connected to my Android TV. According to Zazeen tv, I can use an app called yourTv to watch tv on my phone (android or iOS), I just need to provide the server, username and password. Everything works fine and since it is an IPTV I was wondering if I could skip the need for an STB and install an app like yourTV on android TV and watch my feed from there.

The problem is, yourTV does not work on Android TV (just mobile) and most of the apps I see, needs you to add a stream (.m3u8 or another extension) and not the same one I have. Does anyone know of any app that could work for me ?

When setting up my Sony Bravia 49X700D, I tried to connect it to my Google Pixel and followed the instructions on screen. But for some reason, my phone couldn't find the tv? I connected to it through Bluetooth, but I have no idea what features I can control through this.

Anyone have a general walkthrough for me? Also, I'm assuming there's an app for it as well?

I recently bought a Mi Box 3 4K. Side loaded the speedtest app and found that the internet speeds are much slower than expected. This leads to buffering issues (of a miserable 1 mbps) when running a vpn.

I have a gigbit fiber connection and I'm only getting 70+ mbps out of it. When running speed test on my 4 years old Samsung phone from the same spot, I'm getting close to 200mbps.

What gives? Why am I getting so much slower speeds despite the mi box having wireless AC? Any ideas?

• Can the Shield get malware? If so, any good anti-virus out there for it?
• Can I use my Xbox One and/or Wii U Pro controllers on this machine?
• What's the most it can do emulation wise? Gamecube/PS2 era? 60 FPS or no?
• What USB flash drive does everyone recommend? Nvidia has their own list but I'd rather hear from users themselves.
• What "little" tips or tricks do you have once I get the machine in the mail?

It seems that Comcast has tweaked things on their end so that all versions (past and present) of the xfinity Stream app crash if loaded into the Android TV OS, but has anyone found a web browser that can be sideloaded that runs the web browser version of xfinity stream well?

Wifi connection is lost 99% of the time when turned on after being off for a while. The only way to connect back to wifi is hold down the power button (which performs a restart/reboot).

Any solutions for this?

I have the Shield TV and love how I can double press the home key to show my running apps, like on an android phone. Bought the MiBox today as a secondary device, but notice that doesn't work. Does it have this feature at all? How do you close programs that are running like Plex if not?
