I tried multiple Kodi solutions, APKs from Fire TVs and Sony Bravia TVs, but nothing works for me.

Is there any way of getting this to work? I have a Nexus Player and live in Germany (EU).

When I set it to auto, it sets it to 720p60hz for some reason. Is there a disadvantage of running it at 4k?

Any ideas? Tried rebooting, tried changing am hdmi setting. Only thing that has given me stuttering.

shieldTV is nice but sometimes I would like to watch on another device. The adoptable storage doesn't allow for NAS setup so seeing if there is another method.

I have an Nvidia shield and the Ethernet worked before I upgraded to Android 7. I don't get link lights or anything. I have tried with different cables and different ports, but nothing works. Do I have to turn something on?

Hi I've recently updated my Bravia to the latest android version Nougat and ever since whenever I try to open Netflix it crashes and simply says "netflix keeps stopping" any suggestions ?

I saw a good price for an A95X, and though it's not a real Android TV OS, is it that bad if you don't want to get US TV channels? I mean I have a Sony TV smart (not Android) with a couple of apps like Youtube that is well controllable with the remote, the virtual mouse and keyboard are nice, but the internet browser is a pain. Is the A95x box similarly controlled or it's not even close? I have an old Samsung TV in my summer house that I would love to see youtube and why not browse on it

Hi. I just setup my MiBox3. I'm in Australia. I can't find any of the local TV station apps (SBS On Demand, ABC iView etc) in the app store. Does anyone know what the restrictions are, is android TV not enough operating system to run these apps? Is there some sort of hack? I wish I understood that there were these restrictions before I bought it :(

Just got a xiaomi mi box. Connected to my hisense m3300 55" tv via hdmi. The tv is connected to a budget 2.1 soundbar via optical cable.

I can't seem to get any audio through the soundbar at all. I can get audio via the tv's speakers but nothing else.

I then purchased a toslink cable and connected the mi box directly to the soundbar... Still nothing.

Can anyone suggest what the issue might be?

Prior to buying the mi box, I had a 1st gen fire tv connected to the tv via hdmi with an optical cable connecting the tv to the soundbar and this worked fine (audio passed from the mi box > tv > soundbar).

Hi everyone, new to Android TV here but getting into it as I already had a HD HomeRun I bought when Plex launched their DVR as I thought that was Live TV back then. I never used it so wanted to try now that there is Live TV. Everything is working great and I'm using the Shield as the Media Server itself which is really cool. I just have some questions though as my goal is really to use them in each room of the house as a media centre set top box. Originally I was going to use my spare desktop which is an i5 4690k with 8GB ram and GTX 970 as a Plex Media Server for the HD HomeRun and Live TV, but it seems like the Shield might work fine for that. I just had some questions though:

• Is the interface on the Shield TV stock Android TV or is that just NVIDIA's layout? Are there other devices that use this interface? Asking because I bought for fun a $60 cheap Android TV 6.0 box on Amazon today that works pretty well also, but the interface is pretty ugly. The Shield seems to look more official Google?

• In terms of streaming 1080p movies, or playing live TV over the network, are there other devices that work just as well or is the Shield really that much better? I'm not really big into gaming at all so I feel like I'm paying extra for the controller and what not, when I really just want a quality set top box. I'm keeping the Shield as the Plex server, just trying to determine if I need another Shield on every TV or if I can use something else with similar interface, quality etc for TV like in the kitchen.

Also the $60 "Android TV" one I bought for fun doesn't even seem to really be Android TV, it seems more like it thinks it is a phone or tablet or something. Like Plex has no mention of live TV and even has an option about streaming and using mobile data.

I can't get my MiBox to appear in Google Chrome/Google Home app as a Chromecast device. All the forum posts appear to end with no solution.

Does anyone actually have Google Cast working here? And what did you do to get it to work?

Just wanted to let everyone know that the ugly green background is gone since the 5.2 preview update.

When I'm watching a movie on my 49 inch Sony X800D the backlight turns off when the scene is all black, usually during a scene transition or fade to black. This isn't the backlight dimming from Advanced Contrast Enhancer the tv backlight is literally turning off during 1-2 second black screens. This only happens when the screen is completely black.

I don't know what is wrong. Advanced Contrast Enhancer is off, all eco and power savings are off. I even enabled developers mode to set screen to stay awake and that doesn't even work. It's gotta be something else

Does anyone else with this tv notice this problem? It's been bugging me like hell and hopefully someone here can help me out.

I have the IPS 49inch X800D just to clarify. I previously had a 2015 x800c which didn't have this problem, i do understand they are different models.

I bought a nvidia shield a month ago and everything is great except for adding a 2nd controller so I can play games with my girlfriend.

Here is my setup:

• Nvidia shield 16gb
• 128gb Sandisk USB3.0 thumbdrive formated as adoptive storage
• Logitech harmony remote connected via bluetooth to be used as my main shield remote
• Logitech kb/touchpad wireless combo connected via logitech usb dongle

I tried both a MOGA Power Hero (mode B) and Xbox One S controller (I tried 2 different ones both updated to the latest firmware) connected via bluetooth and there is TERRIBLE input lag while using the standard shield controller is fine. I tried several games like the android NBA Jam, shield Tomb Raider, and a couple games on gamestream.

Anyone know how to fix this? Is there something with the wireless interference?

In my attempt to watch OANN I installed the KlowdTV app on my nVidia Shield. It's in the google play store and installed just fine. I signed up for the free trial. When I launch the app I get a log-in screen, which in and of itself is very clunky to enter my email and password, then it goes to a menu that offers their guide, channel list, and a couple of other options (I don't recall, but there are 4 buttons). But whenever I pick a channel or a program it gives a notice in the top left corner that says something like "error loading data: cannot load". Works fine in a browser on my desktop. Anyone get it to work properly on an AndroidTV?

I have an Nvidia Shield TV and the YouTube app is around a year old. Is it just the ShieldTV or all AndroidTV that has the old YouTube app?

I recently noticed, that my nvidea shield is pretty active during sleep mode. Like every minute, it calls "api-global.netflix.com". Anyone else experience such behavior?

I'm so close to getting Amazon Video to work on my Mi Box, but I'm hitting a snag.

I'm using HALauncher to run a sideloaded version with a BT Keyboard/Mouse. I manage to load a video, but I get an "Unfortunately, Amazon Video stopped working" message right in the middle of the screen ... with the video playing right behind it!

Of course, if I click OK, the video stops and I get sent back the app's menu.

Any ideas how to fix this?
