Hi, I have recently purchased this android box, and have it hooked up to a SONY DAV HDX475 system. We have tried running an optical audio toslink to mini toslink cable, but that didnt work, and neither did the 3.5mm stereo plug to RCA cable we tried. Have we been trying the wrong cables? Any suggestions on what to do?

I know, I know...get a shield instead. Yes LeEco is a dead company and you won't get any support.
But if you're a gambling person, great set with built in AndroidTV (will forever be stuck at 6.0). It's $349, not $1349, so I'm not super worried about warranties.

For me it's fine, but I was just looking for something that didn't suck and was cheap. Here's my personal opinion on it after 2 months of usage. The exterior design is gorgeous only bested by high end Samsung and Sony. It basically mounts flat to the wall. None of the other cheap brands were remotely this thin or well designed. Not TCL, Hisense, or Vizio.
My wife loves the single remote with built in mic to control everything. People tend to think these things are minor details, but is a huge deal in our family. Whatever chip they have in there has handled all videos I've thrown at it without a hiccup. Previous Nexus Player and returned MiBox stuttered on some shows I had previously recorded on a WMC HTPC. Kodi and Plex work wonderfully on it.
Cons. Dead company. Off angle viewing is mediocre. Has a weird bug that throws the date and time off which messes up the Live Channels guide. I eventually switched to just using the HDHomerun app, so it's fine for me, but be aware of this annoying issue. Has a bunch of weird LeEco apps on the homescreen you can't get rid of. It's annoying as shit.
In short, at $498 (what I bought it for), I thought it was fantastic deal. At $349, it's a steal and in my opinion, no combination of TV + external box remotely comes close in terms of picture quality, value, and design.
