Need Android TV remote advice

So when I side load something like Chrome I need a mouse cursor and a way to click. As is with the phone remote app, the remote that came with the box I can pretty much just type a search, see results, scroll up and down and that'd be it.

So I'm assuming a standard BT remote/keyboard would work? Will that just activate some sort mouse cursor as soon as it's connected?

I'm seeing tons of small remote looking combos so just need some advice.

Android TV Remote app not connecting

I've tried it on both a nexus player, and the mibox. I am using a nexus 6p. I also tried using my sister's note 5 in a different location (a different router). It did not work as well. Is this a widespread problem?

[HELP] Mi Box MDZ-16-AB Bricked

Hi all,

I bought an USA version of the Mi Box (MDZ-16-AB) from AliExpress a few months ago. It was working fine then one day there is no signal when I turn it on.

I've tried booting into recovery by holding 'OK' and 'Back', still no output.

I've tried booting into recover with a USB of the stock firmware on it , still no signal.

I've connecting the device to my computer via male-male USB not detected.

I've opened up the box and shorted the contacts according to this guide (which is for MDZ-16-AA) https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-stick--console-computers/amlogic/s905x-xiaomi-mi-box-3-mdz-16-aa-t3502992

It detected and recognised as WorldCup device.

I couldn't find an image for MDZ-16-AB to flash using the Amlogic USB Burning Tool.

This is where I'm at. Is there an image for MDZ-16-AB to flash using the USB burning tool? or any other ideas I could try? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ps4 controller over Bluetooth Nvidia shield

So for the past couple weeks I have been using my ps4 controller (2 of them) to play rocket league over gamestream.

Has been working pretty awesomely. Though we were noticing a slight lag so a week ago I lowered it from 4k to 1080p and it was perfect.

Now all the sudden starting yesterday we are getting completely random and awful lag on the controllers. Times buttons won't register at all or it sticks and we are spinning in circles.

Any ideas to what is causing this ? I haven't done anything different so I have no idea what is causing this sudden problem.

Sony Android TV - Launch Plex (automation)?

Plex just released a really cool Alexa skill. However, the issue is, it only works if the TV is on and Plex is launched. So, I can say "Alexa, ask Plex to play West World" and it would work if my TV and Plex is running.

I'm using OpenHAB2 with a Harmony Hub, SonyTV Binding and hue hub emulation for Alexa integration. Turning on the TV via Alexa isn't a problem. I can even launch Netflix (because their is a Netflix button on my remote which I can send via the harmony hub).

My issue or question is, how can I launch Plex? Any ideas?

My only thought right now, it to send the "Home" button, followed by some arrow keys to find the Plex app on Android TV interface and sending a "enter".

Ideally, I'm looking for a "Alexa, turn on Plex", which will turn on my TV if it isn't already on and launch Plex. Then I can say "Alexa, ask Plex to play X".

"Alexa, turn on Plex" - would run a OpenHab2 rule, that would turn on the TV, and launch Plex. Launch Plex is the part I need help figuring out how to do. Any help or suggestion is appreciated. Thanks

Mi Box android TV, 5Ghz wifi issues!!

I recently received the International version of Mi Box android TV and started playing with it. Automatic setup with my android phone didn't work so I set up the device manually and connected it to my home 5Ghz wifi network. Device is connected just fine and I could download updates, apps, watch youtube etc. So what is the problem? I later installed the official android tv remote control app from play store and I noticed that my device was not detected by the app. I also noticed that Mi Box was not detected by Google Home App, so I couldn't use it as a chromecast device. As soon as I connected Mi Box to a 2.4Ghz wifi network problem solved. I could remote remote control device with android tv app and I also could cast everything from my phone to Mi Box. I tried different configurations with dhcp and static ip but 5Ghz problem is still there. It doesn't matter if phone is connected to 5 or 2.4Ghz wifi network, both networks are in the same ip range. Someone on Google support forum told me that he has no issues, so Ι suppose it's not a device software issue. Anyone with the same experience or any ideas what is the problem with 5Ghz wifi. I can live with the 2.4Ghz connection but I prefer to connect my device to 5Ghz .

Thanks
