I'm looking for the Android TV apk so I can put it on my mi box. Please let me know if you find it

So I've found tons of sites that tell me how to sideload Android TV apps to the Fire TV but nothing describing the opposite. The only one I ever see mentioned is for getting Prime Video on Android TV. Every once in a while I see people on here talking about modding them to work on Android but never any directions and I can't find them anywhere online. The Fire TV's app store is unfortunately much more abundant and the apps are updated more often in comparison to Android TV. Is there a way to install the Fire TV app store also and have both that and the Playstore on Android? If not that how do I even acquire the Fire TV versions of the APK's? I can't find them anywhere. All I ever find online are Android TV & phone APK's. I know not all Fire TV apps will work on Android because I've seen it mentioned multiple times that they only have about a 50% success rate. I know I'm not the only one trying to do this so why is it so hard to find info on it? Has anyone thought about having a post on here or another site with a how to and list of apps known to work well? You can find a million sites like this for moving Android to the Fire but I can't find anything for Fire apps being put on Android TV. Any walk throughs or pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Just picked this TV up for the Superbowl, is there an easy way to turn off all the AndroidTV fluff? Auto updates, standby mode (I want the tv to turn fully off when I hit the power button), hide all apps except settings etc?

I bought it for the picture quality but have no interest in smart TV features.

I am able to pair two controllers, but when playing an NES game on John NES, both controllers get connected as first player and one controller will control both players. Is there something that I am doing wrong or is what I am trying to do not possible? Thanks for your help.

I have not been able to mount my Drobo FS to my Shield TV under the network storage option. The Shield sees the Drobo but no matter how I try to connect to it, it always fails.

Has anyone been able to get their Nvidia Shield to work with a usb tuner since the 7.0 update came out? I bought a Hauppauge usb tuner but cannot get live channels to detect anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I really want to remove sling, ESPN and any other app I'm not using. Doesn't seem like its possible though and may require rooting (if it can be rooted)?

Every time I Reset to factory my shield...I have to use it cabled, it doesn't recognize it as a shield device in wireless mode... until i connect to my home wifi, repeat the thing, it works.

• another issue: after sleep, I have to reboot the console or manually reconnect it to the wifi, because it doesn't find any wifi (nor mine nor others, until I force connection to a wifi apparently dimmed)

anyone else had this issues?

I have some digital copies on my windows laptop, I use flixter to watch them as they are ultraviolet digital copies of movies I have bought.

I am getting an android box (a t95z plus, 2gb ram, 16gb storage, hexagon shaped) from my brother within the next week or so.

I noticed that flixter has an android app and rather than redownload all of them to the box...

Can I just copy the files/folders over from windows?

I know I can store the movies on an sd card instead of the device... Hopefully that will also include a usb3 2tb hard drive...

I picked up a new LG 4k smart tv with webOS 3.0. It has a netflix app and an amazon prime at built in. But I need something to play MKV and quicktime files off sometimes. I know the Nvidia shield is highly regarded but I feel like thats probably overkill for my needs? Whats a cheap but quality option for me?

Mi box Android TV

My setup is straight forward, so hopefully the solution is as well; Shield to HDMI to TV, set to use TV's speakers. Just setup the Shield and all settings are at default. I keep the TV's volume at some set level, let's say 70, and adjust the Shield's system volume via the Shield remote as needed. This seems to work fine for all apps (Netflix, Youtube, and Amazon) tested so far, but not Plex at all. Any file I try to play in Plex will produce the expected sound but the Shield remote's volume slide is useless and just produces an error message as noted in the headline.

What the hell is going on here and what setting (in Plex or in the Shield's system) will correct this?

I should also add, this is not an issue on my Mi Box, where the same files in Plex have been tested and play audio without issue.

I dont know much about android tv stuff and looking for advice. If this isnt the place, please point me in the direction. Presently I have a PI2 just running Kodi. I'm looking for something that will run kodi smoothly and be able to run simple playstore apps such as FB, reddit, youtube, and Chrome. Will these cheapo boxes do all that, or should I look into something else?

Anyone know if there is an easy way to mute the volume on the Nvidia Shield using the remote?
