I just found out about Android Tv and have been searching options. My uncle has shown me his MX3 and it seems okay. I've watched Kodi and Showbox on it and love the plethora of movies and channels. Amazon is showing it at $50 but made in China. I'd rather get something not made in China to be quite honest.

I'm willing to spend a few extra bucks for a decent quality box but under $100. I've got a good stable 100mbit/sec connection and would prefer a hardwired connection. Those are my only requirements. I'm technically sound enough to root or configure a box to get it to play Kodi or whatever as well

I just joined the crowd, wanted a 4k plex player for going forward, but I can't see much if any reason to root. What can be done with it rooted?

I have Concast's delightful "services" but couldn't find their app in the play store, is there any way to install it?

Need a air mouse for sideloaded apps. Any recommendations for a good one? I prefer Ebay, and in Canada.

Now that the official HBO Now app is available for the ShieldTV I thought I would give it a try and it is terrible. It looks like 1080p but drops so many frames it is unwatchable. This is the only streaming app that does this and I have a 100mbps wired connection.

I see tons of similar complaints for other devices dating back to the beginning of 2015. Does the app work for anyone on ShieldTV? Is this a lost cause, is there a workaround, or will HBO ever fix this?

Watching a movie from the Google Play Movies app, and the daydream screensaver is popping up. Why? How do I fix that? It doesn't do that for Kodi, Netflix, etc.

What are some games we can expect to see in the near future? How's dev support? How do the payment plans compare? What have I missed?

Alright guys, got my shiny new Nvidia Shield Android TV today. Now at the end of the same day I'm about to plug the roku back in! Help! Netflix seemed to play fine all day. Now, if I leave Netflix for awhile and come back, or try to play the next episode I get the "unfortunately Netflix has stopped" message for a fraction of a second and am met with the home screen of Android TV. When this happens the only thing that seems to fix it is going to app data and deleting data. I have verified deleting cache doesn't resolve issues nor does rebooting through the power menu.

I did have a few OTA updates when I first booted the Shield so I went ahead and factory reset the device, just to see if that put this all behind me. 1st episode plays through, go to click the next episode as the first one is finishing up... Bam, home screen. Try and reload, it opens, I can count to 5 appox and it force closes every time.

I hope I am missing the obvious, I bought this thing to replace a flawless Roku because of the speed, Chromecast abilities and gamestream. Right now I'm getting interesting looks from the wife on why this 200 dollar box can't play Netflix.

Is there anyway to trick the hulu app into thinking it's running on a phone, since Hulu on my nexus 6 doesn't need hulu plus, but running on my nexus player it needs hulu plus.

I subscribe to a lot of channels and the list of subscriptions cuts off around the letter 'S'. Does anyone else have that problem? It seems like an odd limit to impose.
