Why is there no way to output native 24 fps from Android TV? I'm referring to the OS built into TVs themselves, not external streaming boxes.

Did someone get the "works with Alexa" ability / skill on Alexa to control the Xiaomi Mi Box S (Android TV / 8.1) , turn it on/off, volume up/down, next channel etc?

Not using Xiaomi or other remote, rather use network/wifi and connection to alexa servers..

Stock YT plays the HDR content well but any other attempt to play the same like in Smart YT leaves the picture washed out as it would look in a standard pc monitor. Do I need to install vp9 Codec or something similar from somewhere that will resolve this issue ?

Which games do you guys play? Do you know any that accept multiple players/ gamepads?

I have one Mi TV 4A Pro which has PatchWall OS installed. It doesn't support Google Play Services and so it is not possible to install apps from Play Store. Hence there is no way to install NetFlix, Amazon Prime etc to the TV. Is it possible to install Android TV to this Mi TV ? There is no update from Xiaomi regarding the OS update and upgrading to latest version of the OS. If it is possible to install Android TV, how can this be done ? Please help.

Just got my tv yesterday and installed today but unfortunately it doesn't show up my router's SSID. I tried switching it on and off several times. The distance between the router and tv is merely 20 ft with no walls or gigantic structures in between. I tried resetting my tv, restarting it before twice, no effect. All other devices in my home are receiving perfect signals. Attempting to reset my router now and reload the config file for it.

Do any AndroidTV devices support full CEC where I can use my TV Remote to control the AndroidTV device? Every search I’ve done people are talking about using their AndroidTV remote to turn the TV on, but none that talk about using the TV’s remote to control the device. As a comparison or example, I have Kodi running through a Raspberry Pi and I can use my TV remote to surf through the different options and select the movies and TV shows I want to watch.

I have a 4K FireTV Stick and it can turn my TV on with the fire remote, but I still have to go grab my TV remote if I want to swap inputs to another device, or activate the sleep timer.

Basically I want to eliminate clutter if possible. Do any of the more expensive devices do what I’m asking about here?

I have a Mi Box in which my mother currently watches her country's local channels (using a.m3u list that I have curated and the TVirl app to load said list into the Mi Box Live Channels app)

I have been thinking about buying a TCL Android TV for her so she can watch both the cable channels that come through the coaxial cable and the channels loaded by the .m3u list.

What I wanted to know is if the TCL Android TVs use the same Google Live Channels app (or some clone that can accept the TV framework input from TVirl) so my mother could watch both the cable channels and the iptv ones using one single TV channels app.

Edit: before anyone says that I should get the best TV for picture quality and a Shield, she's pretty tech illiterate and the requirements are to have an easy to access list of cable channels and the iptv ones, so can't use a Shield or Mi Box + HDHomerun because our cable still uses NTSC system and the HomeRuns only accept ATSC/ClearQAM, hence the need for a TV set.

How can I connect my AndroidTV to a wireless network that requires you to enter your credentials on a internet page before granting access? Android pops up a message prompting that a login is required and asks to continue in web browser, I think click yes and get the error message "you do not have an app for that".

I'm considering buying a streaming device, Mainly for a non Smart TV, I want to be able to stream Netflix, Amazon Prime and Youtube.
I'm confused between Roku Express, Mi Box 4K, and Fire TV Stick 4K?
4K streaming won't be important that much as Internet in my country is shitty

I run most recent OS version at MiBox. All works just fine. Power On, Remote, Netflix, HBO GO - all as it should run but... but YouTube keeps loading videos for minutes.

Anyone had similar problem and idea how to resolve it?? I can literally start YouTube video, make five minutes break and then keep waiting for it to start. Doesn't happen at any other app.

So the top bar is like my shows and youtube recommendations, but also GAME recommendations

1. How can I turn off things like Games\PlayMovies from there

The next bar is "Featured apps" which I googled and I guess is just some sony crap, it's 99% junk, but has Prime Video, Netflix, Plex on it... which I want.

2. I found out how to kill this, but it removes the prime video, plex links (netflix is on the remote, not a dealbreaker

The THIRD bar though is just "Apps", so I would assume this is where my apps live... but it's just YouTube, PlayMusic\Games\Store. Then some sony android apps for local video\music and stuff. Worse though is "Control setup with amazin alexa"...not an alexa house, but is this just here forever?

3. How can I get the stuff I want in here, and the other stuff out?

Anyone have any good ambient lighting apps for Philips Hue Light Strip?

My mi box s has been crashing just shows a black screen but i can hear the clicks like i'm navigation through the menus. While i do this sometime go from a solid black color to other colors like red and green. I don't know what is causing this,

Anyone know if it's possible to turn the MiBox S on with my TV remote? I can turn it off with the TV remote but it doesn't want to turn on with it. Any setting that I am missing?

i just tried to open these apps in my nvidia shield and they got an error. so i rebooted and they are gone. anyone else?
