I have a Sony KD55XF8796 Android TV. my dog recently chewed my remote when I stupidly left it on the side when I left the house. Completely my own fault. It still works, but the back panel covering the batteries no longer fits on it and some of the buttons get jammed when pressed. The dog is also fine.

The model of the remote is RMF-TX200E. I've been looking for replacements but don't really want to spend £45 for it. I found another remote (RMT-TX300E) which looks good as it has both a YouTube and a Netflix button (both apps are used heavily on my TV so the addition of a YouTube button would really useful) just wondering if anyone knows if this would be compatible with my TV.

I'm not too fussed about losing the voice features as I rarely use that from the remote anyway and generally stick to my Google Home Hubs.

Anyone have this problem? I was testing some resolutions to see which one had the better quality in my tv and now it changes but shows black screen and i have to unplug and plug the power adapter again and it turns on with the new resolution i choose.

Hey guys. I know that AT&T had their beta trial of sending some people proprietary DirecTV boxes running Android TV. To those who got those boxes, I have a question for you. How is the remote? Does it use Bluetooth to connect, and can you connect it to other devices (for example, would it work with a Shield)? Does it have any IR capability, does it work with CEC?

I have a TCL Smart TV with Android TV 8.0 and the controller has Netflix and Gooogle Assistant dedicated buttons but it has a T-Browser button that opens a list of suggested apps by TLC.

It's there any way to remap (or disable) that button?
Maybe remap it for Youtube or any other app

When i watch a stream on twitch app and then go to YouTube app. YouTube its crashing and doesn't play any video (it shows a random 10 digit error). The way to 'fix' it its to go to settings->find the twitch app and kill it...

Quick question, on Android 8.0, when going back to the main screen from live channel, does that effectively "close" the app or at least shut the feed or does whatever channel the app was on still run on the back end? I am asking as I run IPTV on several android device but am only allowed to one feed at a time.

I side loaded prime video app to my mi box s and I have problem with video playback in this app. There is no sound in videos and I don't have access to x-ray, subtitles and rewind. When I try do something with remote, video becomes a laggy mess and finally freezes, making impossible to even turn on subtitles.

Any fix for that???

so i wanna cut the cable , i can typically stream any show but i would like to have reliable Sports,PPV and shows HD with like a tv guide kind of setup so its basically like using cable ... ive read the Nvidia shield is by far the best android box ( more pricey of course) before buying id like to know it works for all the things i need....

I have the Nvidia Sheild and when I press the home button (circle) twice, I get the multi-tasking menu and I can close apps that are behaving badly. I just picked up a Mi Box S for the bedroom and was wondering how can you do this on the Mi Box S (or can you at all?)

Hi guys, i've recently updated my TCL U65X9006 and usually i use WD hard disk (4tb). Everything good before the update but after that the TV say to me that the Hard disk is damaged. I've tried to delete Android folder but nothing. I've already try with another HD (Western Digital 1tb) and it works. I've tried with Another 4tb WD and i have the same message. Obviously everything works good on other devices. I don't know what to do! Seems that my tv doesn't like those two HDD

I've been really struggling to find a decent ATV box with integrated HDD, it's something I am used to and want to have in my box but it's very rare to find any that have this feature.

So far I've been using Zappiti 4K and god this box is total trash not to mention it was expensive for what it offers. Stuck on 4.0 android, Kodi constantly crashing on either sound or video, very slow, and youtube restricted to 720p and stuttering, hardware on this is total junk. But it has a HDD.

And I need that HDD, I don't like to be confined to streaming because networking is unreliable and scary, and for what little I use it having things on good old local HDD is just much more reliable.

Money is really not a factor, as long as hardware is the latest and fast. Airmouse is also a must, as I use a lot of youtube and do local file managing on the device.

I cannot find any recommended boxes with integreated HDD besides Himedia Q10, but is there nothing else?

If I buy an app on my Android phone (Pixel 3) that is also available in Android TV, can I download the app for free in my TV? (Sony Bravia).

I'm relatively new to the ATV experience, but I'm having an odd issue on my Mi Box S. There are certain entries in the Play Next channel that I can't permanently remove. If I long click on them, I can remove them, but they reappear after a while.

I suspect that the issue has to do with removing the last entry from a source, as I can remove other entries, just not the last. So for example, I can't permanently remove the last entry from HBO or Tubi. It's not exactly an earth shaking bug, but it's annoying and I was wondering if anyone else had encountered it and perhaps found a solution.
