EDIT : solved by going to About in Settings and changing device name from 'MIBOX3' to 'TV'.

Now I can say "turn off the TV".

Note that saying "turn off MIBOX 'three' " did not work as confirmed in the thread.

Now google assistant answers it does not find "tv" device... it seems the assistant is now looking for a google home device and not basically sending a CEC command to switch off my connected tv...

Found the issue on a MIBOX3 ...

Already posted on Bravia subreddit...kdl-75w850c TV on reboot loop. Tried factory reset but no green led comes on. My default pref is all led lights off and when I change to any other setting the reboot changes to off. Can I boot from a USB and do factory reset that way? Is there any other way to factory reset other than the volume (-) and power buttons?

I have access to Rogers Anyplace TV, TSN TV and SportsNet Now.

I can watch them all on my laptop, plugged into my TV via HDMI but with my Nvidia shield running Android TV I can't seem to find any way to watch them. No apps, and going to any of those sites using puffin browser gives me an unsupported browser error.

When I pulled Youtube off Google's playstore, the version installed seems to be for cell/tablet and not like the one found in my Samsung TV which is what my Android TV boc is replacing, any way to get the more "TV" version of it?

I've had this issue ever since I've had the mibox, however it's become more bothersome since I find myself watching YouTube more often. The audio just completely drops out for a few seconds and then comes back. The strange thing is that if I rewind the video the audio will drop out at the exact same places. Any suggestions?

I just tried an Android TV ant it just seems like a very bad deal to me. It provides only a few apps in the app store and for the rest you have to sideload apps just to see that they are rotated or just not working properly. I would like a way to have my android apps "just working" from an official app store, no problem if I would need a mouse for that. But I guess I am asking too much.

I was about to hit buy on an Nvidia shield but bottled it and thought I should check that it will do what I want

We have an LG webos OLED connected to a 5.1.4 atmos setup. Normally we use the internal Plesk app to connect to connect to the media server in the garage and this works great.. except for 4k movies.

1. the network is not up to the job

2. the TV will not send atmos / truehd to the amp over arc.

So the plan is to add a shield into the mix plugged directly into the amp and then the TV to play 4k content and new sound formats. However, i dont want to be plugging in external drives to get the movies to the shield. If i plug in an external drive to the shield to hold 4k movies can I access this drive from the network? ie will I be able to send movies from any PC in the network to that external drive on the shield?

Locast works for select US cities. Is there any way to get this to work using SmartDNS or otherwise from outside these cities?

hi im not sure why but im not getting a 5.1 signal from the app. it is set to 5.1 in the app but it is not giving my any ac3/dd/dts 5.1 audio stream. If i use netflix app it works without any problems. My tv is updated and the app too. Would anyone know what could be the cause?

I'm looking for the cheapest box that is capable of passing DTS and Atmos thru Kodi, since I only need it for that purpose. The built in Android TV on my Bravia isn't capable of doing this. I understand that the Nvidia Shield is arguably the best one out there, but I only really need something for this specific purpose. Any recommendation is appreciated.

I suppose it doesn't have to be Android TV either, anything that can play Kodi with 4k HDR with Atmos passthrough

Sadly I can’t find apks for the tv, only for android phone.

The apps display on their side, is there any way I can set orientation to landscape?

As the title suggests. Can anyone help me with this? Or any ideas for this case? I have tried force closing and factory resetting but it still launches on its own.
