So I have my shield remote setup to control volume on my sonos playbar through ir, I bought the newest fire TV remote to use with my shield and I cannot get it to control my playbar, it says it has ir but I cannot get it to control vollume. Any help?

Is it possible to play the media i have on my Google drive with the mi box s. On my phone I can do it well using Solid Explorer, can I do it as well on the mi box s. What about chromecast ultra?

So I have in my setup a Sony X900F Android TV, and an Nvidia Shield TV, which is my preferred streaming device.

Issue is, when I turn on my TV activity (I use the shield for youtube TV, etc.), the remote turns everything on correctly, but then it controls the sony android TV interface instead of the shield TV.

So if I hit the home button, instead of going to the main shield tv menu, it pulls up the sony android tv interface, etc.

Does anyone else have a similar setup / have any ideas on how to disable the control of the Sony TV?

Could anyone please point me in the direction of sourcing a Fire TV specific Hulu APK please?

I've tried downloading the Hulu APK but doesn't work as it appears to be for touch screen devices only, can't get the remote to work with it.

Found a Fire TV specific ripped APK on here, but it doesn't work as it's outdated, everytime you launch the app it force closes prompting you to exit and install the latest version.

I'm not in the US so can't get it via Amazon.com

Anyone able to help out perhaps?

Welp, I fucked up.

I ran adb reboot bootloader on my Android TV (via WiFi) and the screen went black. Now I can't boot back into Android. I know I have to run fastboot reboot but how do I connect to my TV? USB A -> C isn't working. TV has only 1 button (power) on it so I can't do the usual volume down + power.

Edit: Connecting my laptop to the TV with a USB A - C cable makes my laptop shutdown. I think the TV is able to get an IP via ethernet but after 5 or so minutes, my entire network goes down.

Edit2: Fixed by using a USB A male to male cable.

I recently signed up for spectrum choice, there is no Android TV app. Anyone know where to get one that works on the Shield?

This update information has been on my tvs main screen since November. Does anyone else have an 800e that's already got the update? Is there a schedule or anything that would let me know how long it'll be?

A friend has a holiday home in turkey. They want to watch internet tv over there when they travel from the uk. Been advised by someone to buy a mi box and google chrome cast. They’ve also been given a piece of paper stating the following:

As the title suggests I have a problem with my Phillips 873 keeps dimming the picture during dark scenes (not as in the light sensor function where it scans the light in the room, that's turned off) when watching HDR content.

I have googled some to figure out what setting I'm missing. From what I can gather, it's been called "macro dimming" in earlier models, but can't find that anywhere here. I'm pretty sure I've gone blind on any setting now, after going over and over the whole menu.

It's frustrating to watch when it changes from dark scenes to light ones, as you get a big jump in brightness, and back to dark scenes where it's turning everything even, white subtitiles into grey darkness

Anyone found a solution to this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, So I sideloaded prime video app from aptoide TV store, and logged in. amazon registered my device on my account. So far so good. The streaming is good and quality is fine for my viewing as well. But I have heard that prime video app is a data hog - so I would like to reduce the quality settings for saving some data from my plan. Any Idea how it can be done?

Anyone else experiencing issues with their Shield TV after the recent updates? Mine has started losing account settings between use.

I noticed that Netflix, Prime and BBC iPlayer had all lost their saves accounts the other morning and I had to sign them all back in.

I also noticed my top row apps shortcuts had returned to default.

I set everything back as usual last night and watched a bit of Netflix. This morning, it's lost everything again...

Edit. Worth mentioning I was using an SD card as adopted storage. I've removed it and performed a full error test and the card is fine.

Hi, I used a wired XBOX 360 controller successfully with the Steam Link app. I've purchased a new XBONE controller and when I connect it to the tv and hit the x-button it instantly shuts off my tv, lights up, vibrates and the tv's stuck in boot. TV is a Bravia X940E btw.
