Besides Amazon pushing it's product, is their a noticeable difference with the two operating systems? Are apps/games pretty much the same? I'm down to a fire stick or the jetstream to replace my non-existent TV source.

Have the original Mi box and have played any games before in my life.

I have googled this issue extensively but I can't find a solution.

I bought Mibox 3 for my mother on christmas but I'm having a hard time setting it up. It plays for 10-20 seconds and then gives me a tvq-pm-100 (5.2.5).

Uppon google it appears to be an HDCP problem. I installed DRMInfo and it says "Max HDCP level: Unprotected". I've tried in on all my TVs (bought 1-3 years ago), several HDMI cables, no success.

Is this a box problem or a TV problem? What a bummer.

I purchased an Android stick a few weeks ago, H96 PRO H3 S905X.

The whole purpose of purchasing it was so I could install Netflix and a bunch of other LEGAL streaming apps. But I cant seem to install anything on it because the device came "rooted". Now I'm not experienced with Android at all. I've looked up a bunch of tutorials and YouTube videos for ways to hide the root, or to stop the root being detected from apps. Everything I search seems to point to Magisk. I've tried and tried but I cant get it to work...

I installed the Magisk Manager and gave it access to Superuser. But whenever I go to download/install from within the app it gets too a certain point and fails with "unable to check signature."

I'm so lost and confused. I never wanted root, I just wanted a simple Android stick to install my apps on and watch TV. Are there any solutions for me?

Since updating to 8.0, I can't write to the kodi folder on my USB drive. Is there a workaround to let kodi write to the USB drive?

I've tried setting up USB again but to no avail. I may even consider setting it up the USB drive as device storage but then I can't connect it to the computer anymore to transfer any files. Also, I'm not sure what happens if you disconnect a USB drive that is set up as device storage (May mess up the system if disconnected?).

I had to return my fire stick due to the Bluetooth audio being out of sync, and I'm considering a Mi Box S as a alternative, especially because it's on sale on Walmart's site now. Does Bluetooth audio work fine on the mi box s, or are there sync issues?

Ever since I/O I've had my eye on this bad boy. It seems to be a perfect solution for my situation. I stream everything so we've got that covered. Voice switching for HDMI inputs, the wife will enjoy this (less juggling remotes). Acts I dependently as a Google home but with much better sound (don't have a Max). My tower speakers and receiver don't fit well and stand out in our living room so the sound bar is a compact solution.

It's a paper tiger and the lack of info/coverage since I/O has me worried. Anyone else planning on getting one or is as excited as me?

I've had this problem for a few months now. My shields internet will randomly stop working. Going into network settings and turning the Ethernet off and back on fixes it instantly. Otherwise it takes about 5 minutes for the internet to start working again.

Sometimes the internet will work fine for 30 min, other times it'll cause problems ever 5 min.

I've looked around on the nvdia forms and the only recommendations i saw were to disable ipv6 and disable the LiveChannels app. Doing this has made no difference for me.

I was wondering how you guys stream 4k content from your PC to tv. What is the best possible solution? My tv is philips 49PUS8303, something like that. It has chromecast built in, but i belive content that is stream over chromecast is not in 4k.. like it downscales it to 720, max 1080p. TV runs android 8.0.1 Thanks in advance! Cheers

I have a question for anyone who can give me a hand.
First of all, I want to clarify that I live OUTSIDE of the US, so all of this could just be due to it.

I have an Nvidia Shield TV and since the last upgrade, I'm able to access the Amazon Music App, but I get an error message saying that since my account is not from the US, I can´t actually use it.

Is there a way to work around this? If I sideload the app, will it be the same?
