Where are all the native apps? Like the store is just full (still barely anything) of crap apps I have no use for and the other features like netflix etc are normal features of any non android TV these days. I get we can sideload but then thats just a workaround and not a solution.

Smart home TV apps need to be a priority here and I truly think the automated/AI home market will be the next huge growth area for technology now smart phones are stagnating.

I've some questions about the Mi Box S I've looked through some Reddit post and other reviews about it There Are some good and bad things about it The main question is

Does it have all the same features as the Chromecast Ultra?

I read at some place that there are some problems with casting and I'm not sure if they are fixed by now or not.

Is there a Mic issue with the remote?

If I were to use a gigabit Ethernet usb 3.0 to usb 2.0 converter with extra USB port. Will it work?

I know that not all will work. So is there a way of knowing which adapter will work?

The Google assistant onboard, is it the exact same as the others like on phones and tabs. <I read on a forum , don't remember where , sorry. That there are some things it can't do I feel like this is not true. >

So I've been looking for a good controller for my android TV (Skyworth BingeTV) I settled on a Rippa RA902B ps3 compatible game pad I went to the add accessories section where my remote is and I clicked the add accessory thing and searching accessories came up I held the middle button on the controller and it started flashing quickly, although they didn't seem to be communicating I also connected the controller to the android TV with the cable which caused the lights to flash slower, I went to the add accessory menu again but they still didn't connect Is this the controller or the android TV, I've got a slip for the controller so I can take it back, but I'd rather not because that's a much better controller than the others I've looked at

I have the box won’t wake up problem if I left the box sleeping for more than 48 hours. When it happens, even IR remote wont wake it up. Therefore I don’t think this update will fix it.

I've been playing around with a crappy new "smart TV" . The thing comes with android but it seems that it thinks it is a phone and not a tv.
For example if I try to set up youtube in order to cast from my phone to it, the TV tries to be the one casting to another device. Is this a common issue? Is there any fix?
I don't mind rooting it or anything, and I can always just grab a chromecast... but I'm curious about tinkering with the thing and see if there is a way to make it work.
I tried to look for other people with this problem, I guess it is pretty common but couldn't find much about it, I guess I'm not looking in the right places.
Any help?

Sometimes I get a YouTube video to play with sound but get a green screen. Sometimes it stops to buffer every 5 seconds. Whatever problems I encounter, they're always resolved if I disconnect the power cord for a second. (Ordinary power off doesn't help).

Also, casting from a phone works but takes 20 sec or so.

I find this a very poor experience. Is this normal?

Truly disappointed. Initially the box only detects 720P from my TV. When I manually change it to 4K 60p, it still looks 720p.

Netflix Ultra 4K HDR videos has HDR logo on it but not Ultra 4K. The playback has HDR but looks 720p fuzzy.

Youtube 4K videos says 4K but again looks 720p. It does not detect HDR, just like the Shield.

i saw a similar threads for the mibox and maybe some others (mecool?) in the last few days, but it looks like either the netflix atv build dropped support for molly, or they ramped up the fingerprinting quite a bit to catch modified devices? (mine has been on 'm' build since forever) it doesn't seem associated with a particular netflix app update, since i've had auto updates off for a long while (unless it was 'helped' out by a silent play services update)

unclear why they need/want to drop it entirely, instead of just forcing sd or something like they do on other android devices, even though the widevine L1 is still 'intact'.

sideloaded the tablet/phone app to poke around with usability, but it still isn't responsive to d-pad navigation (among other things)... seems to only pull 540p as well.

What makes the Android Phones that needs all this graphical power just to make a few phone calls or some cheap android game on the go? While the more high-end games could be put on the boxed ones instead? I'm pretty sure the much older Snapdragons are festable to get and install to many of them is possible nowadays i'm sure!

Anyone still enjoying their LeEco Super 4 tv? Since there aren't any upgrades, have you moved on to an external device like the Shield or Mi Box?

I'm still using mine but I wish the OS made it 7.0 so I can record from Live Channels. Also wish the YouTube app would quit crashing, causing me to reboot.

I just got a new remote for my (new version) shield tv and it will not pair. I've forced it to forget everything that was already paired and I've tried doing it through the "pair accessory" menu and just from the regular Bluetooth pairing menu. Whether I get the blue light flashing before I try to pair or after doesn't work. Every time it fails to pair. What gives?

The live TV button on the new mi box remote is useless to me,is there any way to remap it to YouTube or something ?
