Shield tv turning tv on after I turn off

The shield tv has been randomly turning tv back on after I turn it off ever since the latest update last week. So my tv ends up staying on all night. Why is it doing this?

Modify silk browser for mi box

Mi box has no menu button. Silk Browser is very much optimized for mi box. But it needs a menu button. Can any developer modify silk browser to long press back button or d-pad center/select button of mi box 3 remote to open menu options.

Mibox 3 died yet again....this time fully bricked. The old trusty NP died recently too. I'm getting by on a Chromecast right now and trying to decide if I want to go firestick, Shield, or Jetstream. Either way I have to wait until after the holidays. So which way to I go folks? Shield? I kinda like the idea of games. Jetstream? Not a bad price. Amazon? Totally new ecosystem...

kinda old phone App forces into portrait/landscape mode flip and then kicks out to last app used or home screen when the app runs video. How do i stop this? How do i stop the flip?

The app runs all the functions and menus fine in portrait mode. But when the apps runs a video it flips back to landscape and crashes back to last app used or the home screen. I don't need the app to be that functional(it can stay in whatever orientation) and I can watch the short video sides ways that is fine. I have the fully updated Nvidia Shield. Thanks

Are there any android TV boxes that are less expensive than a shield, better than a firestick, and have an ethernet port?

Or is the best option here to just buy the Ethernet adapters for Firesticks? I have a shield on my main TV and love the damn thing. Just can't afford to spend another $450 on them for other TVs. I have two 4k Firesticks and two the normal Firesticks without 4k. I've considered just buying the 10/100 Ethernet adapters from amazon for the sticks, but figured I should consult here first.

I bought myself a Shield TV for Christmas, now what?

So I obviously will set up Plex and other apps for watching media, but I want to use it for more. I don't have a pc but if I get a steam account can I stream games to it, also, where can I find a guide to installing a retro arcade emulator so I can play some 16bit games on this thing? Thanks in advance for your help!

MiBox 3 not giving 4k output on my TV

I have a philips 50put6102. When i play netflix through the local app it gives me 4k. But when I try to play netflix through my mibox 3 i don't get a UHD/4k option. Max it shows is HD. I even tried to forcefully change the resolution to 4k2k@60Hz.

When i ask the mibox to set resolution automatically it turns to 720p@60Hz.

I was under the impression that HDMI port 3 &4 can handle the higher resolutions.

I can adjust the volume on my Android TV using Google assistant, but no longer can turn it on/off or pause/play. What gives?

It seems like within the last two weeks I lost the ability to turn my XBR-900F on and off using Google Assistant as well as launching Netflix programs. This used to be so convenient, but it's become annoying as I got used to the integration with my assistant.

Does anyone have advice? I tried unlinking my account, factory resetting my TV and completely deleting and rebuilding my Google Home setup. All firmware is up to date and I have tried both wired and wireless networks with my TV to no avail.

What is really strange to me is that I can adjust the volume, but seemingly have lost all other controls. Any advice is appreciated.

Scripps Networks (Food Network and HGTV) have dropped support

If you go on their website, Android TV isn't a possible option anymore, they had an update in November that Android TV apps didn't get, their apps won't authenticate, and support hasn't mentioned anything back to me.

In Food Network speak: We got chopped.

In HGTV speak: We got listed.

Mi Box S, same stuttering after stand by, this is my problem

I disabled auto turn off with developer options, but it is still happening.

This is what happens:

1 When I stop using the Mi Box, I change to TV and press controller turn off button. No signal, so OK.

2 When I want to use it again, I change to HDMI input and press turn on button in the Mi Box S controller. Suddenly the main Android TV screen appears. No booting logo. So it did not turn off after all??

3 Stuttering everywhere. I have to reboot it and then it works.

I have found that I can't turn the thing off for real. If I hold the power button, I can only reset. If I press turn off for a moment, it goes in this kind of stand by mode.

Where is quality control with this device?

Mi Box - Colour inversion/ distortion issue

After a bit of help. My Mi Box has all of the sudden gone weird with its colours. Was working fine a few hours ago but now all the colours look somewhat inverted.

Have restarted multiple times Have changed HDMI cables Running off a basic Samsung UA40J5100

Has anyone else had this issue?

Google assistant cant play netflix on Mi Bix S

Hello, I just received a Mi Box S and I am loving it except when I ask Google assistant to play a certain show on it, it says "Sorry, I can't play {show} on {platform} on Android TV yet" I did some research and apparently Google fixed this issue back in October. Any help would be appreciated.
