Hi guys,

Anyone has a stable solution to use to cast from a windows 10 laptop to an android tv?

Kinda like what YouTube has when you're in the same wifi as your Mibox but not just for videos.

I can't get subtitles for Netflix

Hey, i hope this post will be allowed here, I'm not really sure where else to go. So, i have a MemoBox 4K, I'm not sure if that is an android box or not, i believe it is. Whenever i go on Netflix and watch something with subtitles, it says "subtitle track failed" and i don't know how to fix that. I've been scouring the web looking for answers and have come up with none, so I'm hoping I'll have better luck here. If anyone can help me, or point me in the right direction, that would be awesome and i would be very grateful. And in case this is important, it's hooked up to an LG tv.

What apps do you use to access free content?

I have an x900e and was curious what apps everyone used to get movies and the like.

The ones I use are: Terrarium Tv Tea tv Kodi Modded Xfinity app I also use a 4tb external for downloaded content.

Anyone know where I can buy just the Remote from the Mi Box S?

I have the Mi Box normal which works great still but I lost my remote and think the new one looks great, I'm hoping it's compatible.. (risky) but does anyone know if it's sold separately, or would want to sell me theirs if they don't use it?

Apps not updating on Mi Box

I was bought a Mi Box for Christmas, and I'm having fun with it...but it looks like Google Play is having trouble updating the apps. It seems to be sitting there with a bunch of apps supposedly 'Downloading...', with indeterminate progress bars moving along for each app, but nothing is actually happening.

What's going wrong?

One oddity of note is that I am using my phone as a wifi hotspot to share my (unlimited and fast enough) cell data connection. I am wondering if (like my Android Phone when updating over cell data) it needs to be told that it's ok to use the wifi as much as it likes...

Cannot turn off cast notification sharing

I'm trying to turn off the notification on all connected devices and I get this response. Other options like ambient settings work ok.

A python tool to control Philips Android TVs (2016+) and Ambilight (+ Hue)

Hey guys, I've created a small tool to control Philips Android TVs through their reverse-engineered API. I hope it's OK to share it here.

It’s far from being done but it already allows to do a lot of cool stuff like turning 'Ambilight + Hue' on and off:

python pylips.py --host %ip_address% --user %username% --pass %password% --command ambihue_on

Download Access Is Restricted!?

I am unable to install any APK with the Downloader app on my Jetstream AGT418. I am getting the error, "the page you trying to access is restricted due to a security rule," whenever I go to almost to a page. Any ideas what this security rule is and how to turn it off?

However, I get stuck the "connection request" dialogue box in the final stage and cannot get the connection. The app freezes. I've re-installed the app, updated my TV and everything. NordVPN issue on Sony Bravia running 7.0

Just got a brand new Sony tv, and it's running AndroidTV on nougat. Everything works amazing, except for my VPN. I have a NordVPN subscription, which works fine across all my devices, but this. I want to set it up to watch US netflix.

Is anyone able to activate hgtv and diy?

How are you watching top soccer on your ATV?

I own a shield and an apple the in the US. Subcribe to PlayStation Vue for American football and futbol. The pain point is some premier league games are on the nbc sports app. I've found it difficult as not all US network channels have ATV apps (yet they're on Fire TV).

What is the best way to stream live futbol in the US?

How do you play games on mi box s , the remote control does not respond?

I tried install few games , none responds for remote control buttons, why is that?

Bought an Nvidia Shield, have a few questions

Hi,

Just recently got the nvidia shield and hooked it up yesterday.

I was looking through Nvidia gaming section.
It shows a lot of PC games for free with GeForce Now like Batman Arkham City, tomb Raider etc.

It also shows many games as Steam and I was able to login to my steam account and the game started playing.

Now in above 2 cases i am guess the games are being streamed from Nvidia server to my shield via internet right?
GeForce Now is Nvidia free game streaming service?
What about games i own on Origin or UPlay? Can i play those games also on the shield?
I have an AMD GPU and I am guessing I can't stream from PC to shield as it requires nvidia GPU right?
Other then the above I can also download some optimized Google Play Store games on this right, these will need to be installed locally?

Desktop-like browser?

Hey all,

New to Android TV (Nvidia shield TV), and am looking to find a good web browser. I have a Logitech wireless keyboard/track pad so I'd like to run a browser that provides a more desktop like experience. I've tried sideloading Firefox (tv version) and Samsung browser and don't like the experience much. They both run in giant mode where everything is scaled up. Is there any way to force them or another browser (chrome) to do what I want? I'm replacing my home theater PC and that's the one major thing I miss.

So I am looking into buying the s, which seems great for the price, but there are a couple of apps that I would like to know if they are available for the device before buying. I looked online and couldn't find much info (since the apps are not that known). If someone could check I would greatly appreciate it. Should i buy a Chinese version of Xiaomi Mi box and try to convert it to an international version?

So basically a guy is selling a Mibox 3 for quite cheap, one catch - its the chine ui with no app store and nothings in english.

What makes this difficult is google play is not on these versions and i am not that familiar with tweaking android boxes but boy can i follow a guide and tinker!

Is there any hope of getting this Mi Box to operate just like an international one? If so how?

USB not connected on my Shield

So I’ve had this Shield for 6 months and today, the “cannot find USB drive” bubble popped up while I was using ES. I unplugged it and plugged it back it but nothing. When I go into the menu it has the USB name but says it is not connected. Restarted the unit but nothing. Any ideas?
