Games for two controllers

Hello guys... I am currently using my NVidia Shield to play some games and I would like to know if there are any games that I can use two controllers. Like, I was playing Soul Calibur game and no matter what I did, I couldn't make the second controller to work. So, I always have to play against the CPU.

I also tried the Street Fighter X Tekken but the second controller doesn't enable the second player, either.

Both controllers work... I can use both, but never one controller to control one player and one controller to control another player.

Can you suggest some games that support two controllers? Or am I doing anything wrong?

Thanks!

Any Disney video games?

Hi guys, I am playing a lot with my NVidia Shield and it has some amazing games. However I miss some games for children, like Nintendo had.

I was playing Disney's Castle of Illusions on my NVidia and it was a joy to play it with my daughter.

Do you guys have any other recommendations?

Thanks!

Buying Advice: New Nexus Player, Mi Box, or AirTV Player?

Trying to decide on what to buy for our upstairs bedroom. We have an Nvidia Shield TV downstairs. We have an antenna hooked up to it with w haupauge tv tuner. We dont use the tuner much in our apartment but are looking to buy a house so ota tv could be used in the future. We mostly use the shield for netflix, hulu, sling tv/vue/directvnow(via casting)/youtube tv depending on what we are trying.

I know the nexus player is old($60 at walmart) but everyone still seems to love it. Does it do 4K? Not that it matters a ton we don't have a 4k tv. The Mi Box seems to have things or features or apps broken from time to time and it worries me.

Hows the AirTV? I know its made by sling but its essentially a androidtv right? It has 1GB of ram just like the Nexus player does. Any recommendation or other ideas? Id rather get a box over a stick. No way I'd pay $200 for a shield just for our bedroom so I'm looking at $70 or less. The Airtv van be had from slingtv themselves for $50 with 3 months of slingtv plus you get the airtv tuner adapter for ota. The mi box is $70 at walmart and is supposed to come with a $50 credit from sling but I hear some people say its expired. If it worked that would be a great deal.

Netflix 4K on the Shield TV

Been having a weird issue with Netflix.... I used to be able to see that something was in 4K before I chose it. It used to Say '4K Ultra HD' in the top right corner next to the rating and length of the show/movie. I also used to have a category for 4K content that has now disappeared. Now all of my options just say 'HD', even if I know it's in 4K. Is this because of an update or am I not getting things in 4K on netflix anymore? Any help with this would be great.

YouTube HDR

Apparently the Google Pixel has gotten a software upgrade to get YouTube HDR. So I'm wondering could the Nvidia Shield and the Sony Bravia tv's also be updated via software only. I read a long time ago that they didn't have the necessary hardware for Vp9.2 or vp9 profile 2, but maybe it can now be done via software?

Is the optical out of the Mi Android TV still broken?

Hi, I've got a 1080p TV alongside a Xiaomi Mi Android TV Box (the international version, with pure Android TV, on the latest non-beta with Android 6) I'm going to add a low-end Samsung soundbar (a 100$ 80W 2.2 model, nothing fancy, just to improve the sound of the TV, because it's very poor). The soundbar has either analog jack in or digital in. My question is: Since I've read a lot of complaints about the digital out of the Mi Box, is it still an issue? I wanted to connect the Mi TV Box directly to the soundbar via optical cable to improve the sound further. The sources would be Netflix movies mainly, no 4K movies on Plex or anything. Are people still having issues?

Latest Live Channels update breaks HDHomerun functionality

After the most recent Live Channels update on my Shield I can no longer view OTA on my HDHomerun Connect. It forces both tuners on the HDHomerun on and shows "weak signal".

Anyone else have this problem? I can uninstall the update and install the HDHomerun app but then I lose DVR and timeshifting capability.

Any apps that support multiple Twitch streams?

Pretty straightforward. I'm kind of debating between and Android TV and Apple TV right now. I know Apple TV has at least two apps that support multiple twitch streams, but I can't find if Android TV has any.

With the many users dissuaded by Apple's pricey 4K HDR TV box and Amazon's Alexa-centric 4K HDR box, Google has an opportunity to jumpstart the Android TV platform if they introduce a 4K HDR player priced from $99.99-129.99.

I don't know if you guys have been reading the other subreddits but it looks like there's a major opportunity here for Android TV to finally become a major player in the streaming box market.

  • Apple's 4K HDR box is $179 and up. For that, you might as well get an Nvidia Shield and most people won't pay that much.

  • The early leaks surrounding the next FireTV have been met with scorn. If there's actually microphones, an LED bar and a speaker on the next FireTV, well, you're spending money on Alexa equipment rather than a better chipset, better Bluetooth, Gigabit ethernet, or Dolby Vision. And there's people who consider Alexa to be spyware.

If Google does the right thing and introduces a box that:

  • Has a serious enough SOC to run 4K60fps + HDR and any run every app smoothly for years to come.

  • Has things like Gigabit ethernet, updated Bluetooth, Dolby Vision, and a nicer remote.

  • Does NOT have Google Home equipment built-in.

  • Is priced from $99.99-129.99 to undercut Apple and be competitive with FireTV Roku 4K HDR players.

Then this will be the year that Android TV is no longer a minor player in the Western streaming box market.

Let's let Google know this is what we want. Or tell me if you need more.

Apple TV is going to support auto-upgrade for movies from HD to UHD for free... What about you, Google?

According to the live event at the Steve Jobs theater, Apple TV is going to upgrade the movies purchased in HD to UHD at no cost, I hope Google follows suit.

Google Play Movies in 4K

So with Apple announcing that they will be offering 4K movies at the same price as their HD counterparts, do you think El Goog will follow suit? The current price of 4K content is crazy expensive and I would love to see a price drop.

Problem with mi box connectivity

I'm trying to connect to a 5g network with 150mbs download speed. The box is right next to the router. Every other device in the house connects perfectly to the network except the mi box. The box will connect to the network and have full bar, then 2 seconds later it will disconnect. Then it keeps doing that over and over. Anyone know a fix? I can safely say it's not my internet since every other device is fine.

I'm a little confused here.

I was told by a few people that android tv allows you to watch hundreds of shows for free but I'm not sure which one is the best box to buy.

Is it just a box that puts android operating programs on your tv? I'm not sure how it works. I don't want to buy one and find out its not meant to be a cable replacement.

Also what does sidebar mean on this page?

I have a ps4 and an lg tv that already has youtube netflix, Google play and crave. Is it worth it to get a an android box?
