There's a menu called playback settings on Mi Box. I've tried changing them but see no effect. Does anyone know what they do?

One is HDMI adaptation and other is auto play Sling.

I've been searching around and can't seem to get much information about the Fios Mobile app on the Android TV platform. I bought a Mi Box to avoid casting my entire phone screen for live TV, so I was wondering what to expect.

Does anyone use the Fios Mobile app for streaming live TV on their Mi Box? Is it simply in the play store or does it need to be side loaded? If side loaded, does it work decently?

I'm trying to figure out why my Mi Box doesn't have network access when I've left it off for several hours and as part of that I unplugged my USB Ethernet adapter.

That solved a lot of problems for me.

Vudu isn't suffering frame drops anymore and neither is YouTube. Live Channels isn't buffering my HDHomeRun and Tablo playback has been perfect.

I have an ASUS RP-AC52 access point literally about 6 feet away from the Mi Box and I still get speed tests at or just over 100Mbps without the wire. I doubt that I will try another Ethernet adapter if the WiFi continues to perform like it has today.

Can anyone recommend a good free NES emulator for the Mi Box? RetroArch doesn't appear to work for me and damn near every other NES emulator I found in the play store is pay only. Rather annoying because pretty much all of these devs ripped code off open source emulators.

SlingTv,Twitch,CrunchyRoll apps all look 1080p great quality. Hulu and Youtube apps both look 480p garbage.

Have already completed system update. Tried turning on and off the "Auto pick best resolution". Changing quality in youtube app doesnt make it better. Dont see an option in the Hulu app. Force closing the apps, clearing data/cache. No improvements.

Any ideas? I also have a 2nd gen chromecast and apple tv, youtube and hulu both look better on these.

I'm having the same issues. I tried casting from my phone with various apps and I can see a definite audio video sync issue... this was true on my Samsung Galaxy S7 and my older LG G3.

Chromecast via chrome browser on my macbook pro works withour audio video sync issues.

Wondering if I should exchange this product... but id have ti resetup Kodi and everything... so hoping there's another solution.

I picked up the Mi Box today and Wallmart emailed some codes for Sling TV and VUDU. The Sling TV is only for new subscription but in the box paperwork there is a code that you can redeem for $50 credit on an existing subscription.

I just picked this up Friday afternoon as soon as Walmart lifted the no sale flag. This is my first Android TV box so I'm getting used to how it works. Under Settings -> Video the default resolution is 1080p. When I tried out the auto setting, it wanted to use 720p so I quickly turned that off. Right now I have it set to 4K-smpte. I have a Samsung 4K TV but don't really know what the best setting should be. Any suggestions on how to tell?

Was anyone able to play any HDR content on Netflix in mi box, Its only showing only UHD for me, TV is HDR capable

Just curious where the best place is to give them direct user feedback to Xiaomi on the Mi Box.

I've been having lots of problems playing back MKV videos with AC3 stereo audio. The video freezes but the audio keeps playing. I tried transcoding the video, but the audio remains on direct play and causes the issue. I tested the same video with nexus player and it plays correctly. I also converted the video to MP4 with different audio settings and its flawless. I posted in the Plex forum but havent received a response, anyone know who to report the issue to?

I just purchased a new Mi Box 3 from Walmart. I have a sync problem when I am using chromecast from my ipad. The audio and video doesn't match. Any suggestions to solve this issue?

Also, I installed the ABC app from Google Play and any video in ABC app has the same problem.

Hey guys, so with all of the posts asking questions about the Mi Box and reporting issues i just wanted to weigh in with my experience. I am coming from a Chromecast and Roku, before that a Fire TV Stick. I mostly used them for YouTube, Netflix, and Plex.

I have had the Mi Box for about a week now and I absolutely love it! It combines the remote feature from other boxes, with the ability to use Google cast. I have it hooked up to a 1080p TV in the living room, and we've been using it for the live channels feature with Plutotv as well as using the free trial for Sling TV. Netflix, YouTube and other apps work just as expected compared to the Chromecast.

The interface and loading times are quick and WiFi has not given me any issues! I had to go through and manually update most of the apps as well as uninstall the ones we don't use and disable the Mi Recommends section.

My only complaint is that the HDMI CSC doesn't turn off the TV but does turn it on. I will note that the Play/Pause controls on my TV remote do control the Mi Box.

TL;DR - I have had no technical issues with it whatsoever, and overall this thing is great and totally worth the asking price. I recommend it for cord cutters like me who are looking for a one box solution for consuming media.

I just paired my old Ouya controller with the Mi Box. While the controls were kind of whacky for navigating the main OS, once inside a game (Bombsquad) all the buttons were mapped correctly.

Anyone successfully pair a ps4 controller to the Mi Box? Would like to reuse hardware where I can.

Ok guys, I know some of you have already found a solution for Netflix not playing. Most of these issues have been solved by restarting the device. I have tried literally anything, from resetting the whole Mi Box, to reinstalling the Netflix application, switching accounts, turning it on off, trying to cast from my iPhone/iPad, changing the Netflix default quality from ultra HD to medium and low quality, setting up a new Netflix account, switching between wifi networks, changing the HDMI cable,, using Google's DNS, etc etc etc. Any ideas guys?

Just got my Mi Box tonight and its mostly working as expected... except for surround sound output. My receiver doesn't support HDMI audio (only video... its old) so I've been using optical. No matter what I have set in the sound settings, I only get stereo output. Is there some trick I'm missing?

I just got a Mi Box, and am new to android tv. I've set up the live channels function to draw from my hdhomerun's channels, which is totally cool. However I can't seem to figure out how to just STOP a channel from playing and go to either the guide or back to the home screen. If I bring up the guide, the channel keeps playing. If I go to the home screen the channel keeps playing in the background.

Is there a way to stop playback of a live tv channel?

With this Android TV box already released officially in the US, anybody seen it anywhere in Canada? I looked online and can't find one...
