Hi guys. Tried googling this but only seem to get chromecast related search results.

Basically my devices all see the TV but when I hit the cast button it just sits there for about 15 seconds and I get a toast on my phone saying "There was a problem connecting to Living Room"

I usually have to restart the TV to get it to work again or force restart Google Cast Receiver (rebooting is faster than navigating the TV with the remote).

The TV is connected via ethernet if that helps.

Anyone else had this issue?

I need a little help. I recently purchased a Sony XBR 810C. It's great TV-wise but as an AndroidTV, not so much. It worked fine initially but at some point the Play Store stopped working. It starts, but whenever I try to download an app, I'm instantly booted back to the home screen. Basically, I can't install anything anymore. Same goes with GameHub--it starts, but whenever I try to download something, I get booted.

My previously download apps and included apps (like YouTube) work fine, so my network connection and connection to Google seem fine.

I know this isn't much to go on, but if anyone can offer some suggestions (even on how to debug this), I'd appreciate it.

Are there any other remotes I could use with my nexus player. I keep having connection issues with my remote and don't know how to fix it...but I'd also like the idea of having a few more buttons...

It seems after updating to marshmellow . Es file explorer refuses to write to the sd card. This never happened to me when i was on lollipop.

Hey just got my Shield TV. Updated to MM etc. Only problem so far is in the play store the section My Apps is empty having installed a few apps and games.

This means I can't update the pre-installed apps like Leanback Launcher unless I search for it on the Play Store then manually update.

I have tried clearing Play Store and Play Services cache/data but no help... just an empty screen for My Apps

Any help?

About how long did it take you guys to format your 128GB class 10 cards? It's been about 30 min and still formatting...

The recommendations on the home screen that come from Youtube are always awful and not based on anything that I actually watch. Videos from 'Jimmy Fallon' and other awful shit are always in the recommendations and I'd like to be able to get some recommendations based on things I'm actually interested in. I've tried 'disliking' those videos but they still pop up anyway. For now I've just disabled Youtube as a source of recommendations in the settings but I'd like this to actually work if possible. Thanks!

I had switched to adoptable storage, but many of my apps had performance hits, or crashed on startup (Gamesome in particular). I have performed a factory reset and set the sd as normal external storage. Is there a way now to write to it via ftp? I tried via es File Explorer pro, but it was actually writing to the internal emulated storage.

I have 2 lines of games on my home screen (Shield TV) and noticed that a 3rd line has not been created as more games are installed. I just have to keep scrolling to the right to find them.

Is there a way to create a 3rd or 4th line so that more games appear on the home screen at once and I don't have to scroll to find most of them?
I thought perhaps a 3rd line would be created automatically like the 2nd line was, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I have TVHeadend set up at home with all my local channels, i want to integrate it into androidTV's live channels but i have only found tutorials for KODI, anyone know of some apps that can do this? i thought about CumulusTV but i want to know if theres others or if CumulusTV plays nice with EPG data from a TVheadend stream.

Hey guys, Im wanting to get rid of my current cable provider and thinking of going with an android box. The only channel im interested in from my cable company is USA Network (not USA Now). Is there any way I can get the USA Network (not USA NOW) on android via any app?

I'm not sure if this is the right sub to post in, and I'm no tv box hobbyist, but I have a model MXQ tv box running android 4.2.2.

The Netflix app from the play store is nearly unusable. My remote can't navigate to the list of all genres, and I cannot use the search function. I can't access Netflix's full collection because of this. Is there any way to fix this, or to watch Netflix through Kodi?

You may remember I said in the 3.0 update topic that I had terrible stuttering issues since I upgraded. Well since the Shield TV was basically unusable anyway I decided to do a full blown factory reset, and guess what? It basically fixed all my issues.
In fact this is now by far the best my Shield TV has ever worked. I always had some slight judder even when I forced it to 23.976 hz, and now it's all perfectly smooth.
So I guess this was an issue since day 1 for me, that got even worse with the 3.0 upgrade. So if you have any such issues, give this a try :)
Even Netflix is now usable without switching to 23.976 first, there is some judder of course, but it's completely watchable without any of the slight pauses I had before. HBO Now is still bad though.

Almost ready to take the plunge on the shield TV and had a question for ShieldTV/Kodi users out there.

When I right click on the PC, or long press on my current android box, I get the context menu where I can select "play from". How does this option manifest on the Shield TV - is it do-able on the controller, or do I need a keyboard & trackpad?

Is it possible to change the background of the shieldTV to the old one? or even possible to change the background at all?

Is there any word about when/if the Razer Turret is going to come out? It was announced a while ago at CES but it still says "Coming Soon" on the website. I'm just going to guess they probably wont release it b/c no one buys the Forge when the Shield is such a competitor, but i'd still like it for my Shield.

Can anyone recommend any similar keyboard + mousepad combo for sitting on your couch?

Took the 3.0 update yesterday and afterwards noticed that my Sony wireless USB headphones now only give sound from the left side. Tried messing with USB audio options from 5.1 to stereo to HQ stereo but same results. Anyone else w/ a similar setup have a chance to check this out after the update?
