I don't know what the hell is going on, but my Google home has stopped controlling the Android TV.

I used to be able to say "hey Google, play [X] on Netflix/YouTube" and it'd (usually) play it, but ever since I reset the box (trying to make a USB-Ethernet adapter work - to no avail) it's been giving me all sorts of errors.

Yesterday, it was saying that it didn't support Netflix on Android TV yet, which is news to me, because it's been working fine for months. Today, it agrees to play the thing I ask for, but doesn't actually play it.

I'm so frustrated by the whole thing. I'm this close to buying an Echo

I have a 50in 1080p TV that will not get replaced anytime soon...I want to cut the cord and get a TV box instead (setting up live streaming)

I root my android phone to do things like backup and ad blocking, but I heard it had locked boot-loader and not possible to get a root?

Could one live with no root mi box or there are better choice?

Is it possible to use a phone (like Samsung Galaxy s10) as an Android TV box ?

I think I should be able to play any android games or watching any Netflix movie (4k) thought it.

What could be awesome is to have a phone stand, where you can put your phone inside, just like how the switch works.

While on the stand the phone will be in TV mode, so you will have the android TV menu on screen.

Well I can install one but I can't set it to run automatically because the Philips Oled has an automatic burn-in screen with his logo and that kicks in always instead of any screensaver I tried, even the Google one. I sure want to find a setting to replace the burn-in by a normal one (tired to see the Philips logo too you know ;- )

I have a MiBox (running androidtv) and there’s some app that won’t let me use it cause it’s a streamer running android tv. This app works for tablets and phones tho. Is there a way to make the app identify me as a tablet or a smartphone?

Have a Philips Oled and it just upgraded to Oreo, the interface shows rows with videos on Youtube and Haystack etc, some of them are autoplay and I don't like that. Can we disable this somewhere?

The 1.19 update broke the ability to record shows from my HD Homerun.

I have Xiaomi Mi Box S 4K TV Box and I would like to play games using my Sony Dualshock 4, but it seems to be impossible to connect the game controller to tv box.

I've already tried to connect it to my Pixel 2 XL and there were no issues with it.

I tried the following algorithm:

• Turn on pairing mode on DualShock via pressing and holding the PS button and share button until the lightbar begins to strobe quickly.
• Open Bluetooth search new devices on Mi Box
• After those manipulations, I can see a new Bluetooth device.
• I start to pairing them and that's all. It "pairing" devices about a minute and DualShock going to sleep mode.😞

I have 100bmps down my Nvidia shield is wired to my router with ethernet and still I get buffering every 5 minutes. I can't think it's anything but a poorly designed app. Anyone else having issues?

I have an OLED TV and don't want the text date/weither to burn in, can I edit it somehow to just show the picture?

In Live Channels, youtube or HBO, whatever. After 30 minutes or so, video and sound gets like 0.25 slower, eventually it fixes but then it happens again. Just to inform if any android tv developer reads the reddit.

Is there a formatting type I can use for my new hard drive that allows me to use the disk on the Android TV, Windows as well as Mac.

I'm not sure if this happened with the newest update. But I had my Harmony remote's Record button set as the Windows key because it would activate a voice search. I really liked that feature and used it all the time. Is this gone forever?

Hi, I searched but I didn't find any recent posts about this question: Is there a way to get Android TV (Shield) to display the UI at 4K, with properly sized icons? I recently "upgraded" from a 1080p TV to a 4K TV and my UI looks fuzzy since it's upscaling from 1080p. Movies and apps that support 4K work fine, it's just the UI that's upscaled blurry 1080p.
