Looking to upgrade to a smart tv and Im looking at a andriod tv option. Can you get xfinity streaming app for andriod tv and is there any issues with using it? Iv heard there might be an issue with logging into some channel options like HBO using comcast login???

I have a Sony Bravia 4k 2015, which is not supported for the new android 8.0 update yet. Will it be supported in the future? Also if I try to download the update on an usb and then update my tv, will it work?

Also for everyone else having an 2015 android tv, look up how to make it significantly faster on youtube because they are so slow at first with all the running background apps.

What is the latest Android TV Verison out there?

I have been using live channels with my hdhomerun prime for a while now and everything has been perfect. This past week however after watching any channel for more than 15 minutes the audio starts to become out of sync. If I close the app and re-open it, its fine again for a little bit then it gets out of sync again 15 minutes later. This has only been happening for the past 5 days or so. The device I'm using is an Nvidia Shield TV. Anyone else having this issue or have any idea how to resolve it? Thanks.

I'm trying to install a security camera app for a cheap camera I have on my Android TV OS box. It's a mobile phone only app so I installed the APK and it's running but everything is sideways like it is if it was on a phone. Anyway to fix this so it's usable?

Just bought a Mi Box 3 S. I was wondering if there was a way to add other applications to the Customize Channels (the quick menu on the left side).

I'm only limited to the default apps which are Google Play Movies, Netflix, Spotify, Red Bull TV, YouTube.

Hi, I have Sharp LC-65UE630X Android build-in TV. I wonder if this TV can be rooted bcs so far I only see Nexus and Shield TV root bcs they are popular.

I wonder if root process is universal, and the tool is universal for all kinds of Android TV. It is quite tricky I think, because in phone there is a button combination for Fastboot etc. I wonder if there is any "universal combination" button for Android TV devices too.

I want to know what settings I can choose in stb emu to help improve my service?

I've been messing about with stb emu for a few months and I have upgraded to pro. I've had many different providers and sometimes it will keep stuttering, repeating or freezing to the point where I turn off the device completely. And then sometimes it will work without any problems at all.

I have done many speed tests on my internet and the results show it fluctuates a lot. I have spent many many many hours in stb emu trying to configure the settings, half of which I do not understand. Resetting both device and modem doesn't help much. I am using the MPV player media player (which is a premium function) and have ticked the low-quality video decoding option. I am using MAG254 stb model and screen resolution is set on 1280x720. In the MAG settings, and in advanced settings, I put the buffer size up to 15 (max). I'm not sure what accelerated rendering option to choose or what else I'm missing?

I keep getting this error when i attempt to watch Youtube TV on my Nvidia. Works fine on every other device i have. I restarted the device, cleared the cache and still have the issue.

When I turn on my xbr65x900c it turns on and I can access everything, but after a few minutes it turns off and goes to the android logo like if I unplug the tv and replugged it. While in the short period where I can access the settings menu I've tried to factory reset it but when prompted if I would like to factory reset my tv, I press yes and nothing happens and I am still on the menu where it ask if I would like to factory reset my tv. After trying multiple times to factory reset my tv via system settings, I tried unplugging my tv and replugging it while holding the volume down + the power button until a green light appears, then I let go in which the tv boots up and and does not factory reset. I thought it was the remote so I took out the batteries and waited but the tv continue to reboot.

I've been looking for an Android TV sleep timer for a while. Either it doesn't exist or I'm blind as hell. I'd rather have an easy app do it and only use my Android TV remote than grabbing my tv remote which I avoid. Does anyone know of one, or one I can sideload? I'd pay for one at this point I hate using my tv remote.

Thanks to u/neekap79 for the solution if your hgtv and diy fail the activation to your isp page. First, install and activate the Food network app to your Android tv. Both hgtv and diy should then be auto signed in after that and good to go.

I have 45 available home screen channels (seemingly one for each cable channel + a "Top Playable" channel). Additionally, my shows on Philo are showing up in the Play Next row.

Pretty neat. I would still like them to add two channels for favorites, one to show what is currently playing and another to show what is airing next.

I have both gen 16gb units with two pairs of identical Anker BT earbuds. On the 2015 unit, they do not auto connect upon powering on and I must navigate to the accessory and click the button to manually connect, but on the 2017 unit they do auto connect.

I actually prefer the manual connect, because it allows me to have the same earbuds paired to multiple devices.

Is there a setting that controls this?

As far as I can tell, both systems have identical settings. Both are connected to vizio tv's via hdmi and from tv to a soundbar (one vizio,one samsung) via optical.

Both of them also have BT LE Privacy toggled off.

However, one is on wifi and one ethernet.

Although, I can cast without any problem from my phone manually but through GA on mobile or google home won't work.
