Hello, since there's virtually no bumping on reddit, I'm kindly asking through a new thread the released HBO GO Android TV app on the store (version 5.9.0 by HBO Holding Zrt.) as an apk to sideload, since my Vox tv is not listed as supported on the store (despite running the minimum 6.0 as required). Nothing yields results through google, and the apk can't be fetched from store via certain online tools... Thank you in advance!

It doesn't work with natively with android TV , I have to use mouse toggle. Is there any alternative that supports android TV? I want to stream the files that I have in mega NZ

Audio suddenly went silent. So I reset the TV hoping to fix the problem. The setup process had problem with zip code no matter what I entered. So I keep entering my zip code and eventually it succeeded in finding the location. But the next step failed with this message:

Unable to obtain a list of lineup for your location

Due to this error, the built-in tuner is not available!

Search the web found many have this same problem and not able to have the built-in tuner.

Calling LG tech support was no help. They keep telling me to unplug power, hold the power button for 30 sec. Unplug the TV antenna. This of course is of no use. Because the problem is with the setup no working. But LG do not acknowledge this but instead ask me to take the TV to repair shop.

I should not have reset the TV. It’s 5yo and it no long supported by AndroidTV (on the google end, I believe?). The Android Version is 4.2.2. There is not way to update the firmware.

There appears to be no way to get the built-in tuner working now.

And most upsetting. The sound came back by itself, went out, then came back and it’s been fine now. So I didn’t need to bother resetting the thing at all. But since I did, built-in tuner is no more!

From reading my web search for solution to this problem:

• Update the firmware. But mine has not way of updating.
• Root the thing and install something newer.
• Install some app to manually entering TV channels.

I don’t know how to do any of this. So for now, I just live without the use of watching over the air channels.

I only can watch HDMI input devise.

I’m very unhappy with LG. They should know about this very common and let me know. Instead of telling doing useless things.

I will not buy another LG TV. But seems like all TV are AndrodTV. Any suggestions for better? Anything that keeps on updating to new firmware?

Hi guys. I’m using mi tv box 3 running Oreo. Ever since I bought this Im stuck with a problem. Which is, I cannot write anything directly into my sd card. Can anyone help me with solution? I have already tried using a mounting tool from playstore that one was working but only with one specific file manager. Any tricks to make sd card writable?

I have multiple Shield TV and while the Amazon Prime Video app appears on the "Customize channels" section of all of them I have one Shield TV where it does not. It is in my listing of apps and I can add it to my Favorites row but cannot add the channel as a row on my main screen. I've tried removing updates, cache, data, and disabling and re-enabling it (it is not possible to uninstall it the conventional way) but it still fails to appear as an option under "Customize channels." I verified the version is the same as the app on my other Shield TV's. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've just bought a hd homerun to stream live tv over the network, is there a way of recording a programme, like a pvr function apart from paying for a plex pass etc Can kodi do it? I have both a mi box 3 and a sheild.

I'd like to get a box mainly for Netflix, Kodi, youtube and maybe a bit of emulation and catchup tv. I only have a 1080p TV. Which box should I get ? I know that you have to fiddle around with the KM for netflix but I'm used to flashing stuff on my phone so that shouldn't be hard. I also found that it had better hardware so why is it Mi box still advised ?

By the way my budget is 60 euros /dollars if you know better boxes for my needs. Thanks !

PS: I won't use the ethernet port so my only requirement would be AC wifi

Hey guys, need help. So I decided to purchase some Philips Hue lights during Black Friday for an amazing deal with the intention of having them provide ambiance in my living room based on the content that's displayed on my TV.

I thought this would be easy to accomplish due to the fact that there are many Android apps out there on the market that allow you sync the colours of your Philips Hue bulbs to the content that is displayed on your phone, and my television is an Android powered TV.

I got around to setting everything up, BUT here's the issue: All the Philips Hue compatible apps I have installed on my Android TV won't detect the colours of any video signals (e.g. HDMI inputs, Aerial etc). It only detects the colours of the TV's menu screens and changes the colour of the Philips Hue bulbs accordingly. Using ADB, I am able to take screenshots of my TV screen, but all I can see is the Android TV UI. No matter which input is selected on the TV, the video image isn't being picked up. I would understand if it was only the HDMI inputs (due to HDMI HDCP), but the antenna input too?! There must be a process running on the TV that prevents other apps from capturing content that is displayed on screen (I assume for copyright reasons). I just need to know how to disable it. I'd love to hear any ideas or suggestions you may all have :) Thanks!

I have read numerous cases of people controlling their Mibox with a Logitech harmony remote. From my understanding the Mibox S does have an IR receiver.

I am using the Logitech Harmony 350. But it doesn’t work at all. I have tried the profiles for the Mibox 3, Mibox 3 4K, and the Mibox Pro.

Any help is appreciated.

It's possible I'm missing something, but I can't seem to find a way to delete or uninstall the useless bloatware after a factory reset, only disable.

I was using built 2179 (I think) for a while, which fixed my wifi speed issues, but recently it force updated to the latest build.

Hi, ever since my Android TV updated to Oreo, all my usual apps (i.e. MX Player, VLC player) have been unable to view video files stored on my NTFS usb drive.

Any alternative apps/methods to workaround this?

I was using the MiBox for the past year and I went on vacation for a few months and I've recently started using it again. I heard they were releasing OTA updates to Oreo finally. I haven't received any notifications for the last month. Is there some way to manually check for the update? Or should I hold off on the update?

I've owned an Sony Android TV for over a year now and just recently I noticed it started to lag a bit. I believe its because it wanted me to update it to the latest software... note that prior to the update prompts, it has been running super smooth since I've gotten it. Note that I did update it to the latest software now (Oreo for Android TVs) and it's running like new again.

So my concern is that will Google purposely slow down our Android TVs (supposedly) to make us force update the TVs because we can't handle the lag? What will happen if Google stops providing updates to our older Android TVs... 10 or so years from now? Will we be forced to buy new ones like how they "supposedly" slow down our phones (just an assumption).

For anyone who is having this problem (mine is 65x930d), which is when installing certain 3rd party apks on sony android tv, the install button is grayed out, press the action menu button on your remote and press back, then the install button will come back.

Hello, I come here to ask you about any way to “parent proof” Android TV (Oreo, Mi Box), let me explain my issue.

My parents only watch TV using the Live Channels (loaded with a custom .m3u from TVirl), the thing is that they sometimes long press over the apps on the Favorites row and they remove Live Channels from there (after that they don’t know how to add it again), they also have uninstalled apps while wandering into Play Store and have even entered Android TV’s safe mode once or twice.

How can I prevent the “long press menu” from appearing at all so they don’t remove Live Channels from there?

So both boxes are quite similar ... Jetstream have more ports but since its an unpopular brand am really skeptical ...my main use would be YouTube Plex and Netflix....please help me out on what to get...and ya i would be streaming in 1080p so the whole 4K thing is not a problem for me
