With Nexus Players dying left and right the past few months, Shield TV being relatively over priced, and the MiBox having its own issues, I'm really crossing my fingers for something new from Google. I have the Shield Pro in my living room, and it's great, but I'd like something in the $100 price point for other rooms in the house.

Has anyone heard any rumors about a production release of ADT-2? Maybe during the Pixel 3 announcement?

I'm looking for a app for Android TV for Animes besides Chrunchroll and a Media Player with support for archives storage in Google Drive.

Have the WinTV Tuner going into the Shield, and I was able to get channels to scan into Live Channels fine, but there is no Audio? Has anyone experienced something similar or suggestions on possible solutions? Many thanks!

How come whenever there's a post related to VPN recommendations I never see anyone talk up IPVanish? I've been using it for a couple of years and not had any noticeable problems. Are there better options out there? I'd be willing to switch to another if so, preferably with Android TV & Amazon Fire TV support.

I can't find any sorting at all... Is this serious, just got my box and if it lacks features like this I really can't see the point over just casting

Im using perfect player, sometimes bugs, I want to try other applications on my mibox. Try to put he list on kodi, but it crash my kodi, I think, I need to change something in name off file first. But, what are you guys using, to group all our channels list? Thanks in advance

I'm running a 3 day trial of NordVPN right now. The good thing is I've found the source of my buffering frustrations for certain streams, AT&T throttling.

My problem is I'd like a VPN solution that only runs on specific apps. I don't see any options for this with Nord. I'm running a Shield TV.

I sideload Acrobat Reader to my Mibox 3c, and the scrolling is just one line at the time. The remote can't repeat the command in a long press, so it's a pain in the ass to turn the page.

I have just got this machine for about a month or two but the remote stopped working so I figured it needed new battery so I grab some pointy stuff and press the hole in the bottom but it wont come out like videos on Youtube, I have been trying since yesterday but no luck, any help?

Why are android updates called over the air updates?

No android uses uhf/vhf to update afaik. And they are all, over the internet instead.

I stumbled across Reelgood recently, which aggregates the catalogs of streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, HBO, etc into one searchable user interface. Click the show you want and it launches the app and cues up the show for you. I haven't used it so I can't speak to how well it works, but the premise is fantastic. It's what I thought channels on the new Oreo launcher would be (alas...).

But sadly, Reelgood is ios only at the moment. Supposedly Android is "coming soon" but as best I can tell they've been saying that for years, and no telling if ATV will also be supported.

It's really frustrating to have to go in and out of FXNow, and Netflix, and HBO, and Hulu, and CBS All Access, and.... you get the idea.

Or maybe I'm missing something and ATV already has something like this?

We are in 2018, running Android 7 on a tv box but you can't change the wallpaper or just open a photo because there is no gallery app.

Hi guys, I recently bought a 55 inch Sony XF90 in The Netherlands, and made a similar post in the r/bravia subreddit I have some questions Android TV that I hope some of you can answer:

Does the inbuilt chromecast support HDR? I've seen conflicting posts on this. I read somewhere that the inbuilt youtube app doesn't but if you cast youtube from your phone it does? But how can it if the chromecast doesn't even support HDR in the first place!

How do I enter or switch between the inbuilt chromecast and other apps? (I mean the chromecast mode with a changing background like it would appear if you had an ordinary chromecast). The inbuilt chromecast doesn't appear on my recents bar.

What apps DO support HDR? I know netflix does, and dolby vision looks AMAZING on it. But does amazon prime video, plex, kodi, youtube etc. as well?

Waiting for my Shield to come in and thought about getting this remote while shopping for the best box. I want the simplest experience and wanted to know how easy it is to operate the shield with the stock remote / controller. I got the package.
The big pain that I had with a firestick is the time consuming and repetitive method of going one by one. The mimic remote has a keyboard and learns my TV infrared so I can minimize the amount of remotes I use as well. So does it make sense to get it a3 it will I have a smooth experience with the stock shield remote/ controller?
