Hey guys,
To speed up my Android box, I have done the following:
Since doing the above, my device definitely is cooler and apps seems to perform better.
Let me know how you find it.
thanks!
Hard to find many reviews online for it. Wondering if the Android Tv performance on it is any good. https://www.target.com/p/element-55-4k-uhd-120hz-smart-android-tv-with-google-assistant-black-e4sta5517/-/A-53328829
THE FOLLOWING UPDATE PROCESS WILL FORCE A TOTAL SYSTEM RESET!!!!!
This Build 2175 is offered without any warranty whatsoever beyond the fact it was created by Xiaomi and is delivered by the normal Googleapis server farm.
This patch is exactly what was disseminated on a very limited basis to a small group of testers recruited at https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/xiaomi-mi-box-mi-tv.116
IT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED BETA AND EXPERIMENTAL!!
Final version released for public consumption
may be different from this build 2175 and will be numbered accordingly.
I do not have any wifi issues with my MiBox so I am unable to confirm suitability or efficacy of the Wifi bug fix contained herein.
There may be some ancillary issues that are ameliorated by the enhanced WIFI performance resulting from reduced CPU load this patch entails.
In any event, please reply to this thread if other seemingly unrelated benefits.

rename zip file to update.zip
copy update.zip file to FAT32 formatted USB thumb drive
create a file WITHOUT EXTENSION including the following..
--update_package=/udisk/update.zip --wipe_data
(The process to erase all data may be lengthy. If not successful, remove --wipe_data and try again)
Save the file with name xiaomi_update (no extension) on thumb drive
Remove power plug from Mibox
press and hold BACK arrow and OK button (Do not touch any other adjacent buttons)
reconnect power
It should start recovery mode and automatically start update NO MENU SELECTION REQUIRED
If it starts showing colored dots, try again.
It may be useful to get an extra set of hands..
TLDR; Is there any app that can remap keyboard keys (like F1) to an Tasker task on Android TV 8.0?
I've been tinkering for a few hours now, and I'm starting to give up. Figured I could ask for help here as a last resort.
I have a Shield TV, Philips HUE lights and a Harmony remote (the old HUB based one without home automation buttons; https://secure.logitech.com/assets/47654/glamour-image-lg.png)
I want to map a few of the buttons on my Harmony remote to control my HUE lights. This can't be done within Harmony's software.
I figured that I can use Tasker on the Shield TV to control the HUE lights, and then map a button on the remote to trigger that Tasker task. The first part was easy - I've installed Tasker and AutoHue and created tasks that control the HUE lights.
But no matter what I do, I can't find a way to map the keys to trigger the tasks in Tasker :(
The Harmony remote is paired to the Shield TV both as a "Shield TV" device and as a PC, which means I have all keyboard keys to choose from.
I've tried "Button Mapper" but no luck; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton
It reacts on key presses in the setup and I can chose Tasker tasks as a shortcut. But nothing happens when I press the key. It also breaks the Leanback UI (pressing OK is seen as a long press, and I can no longer open "all apps" by going to the far left).
I've tried AutoInput which is a Tasker plugin, but same story there. It breaks the UI.
Has anyone else tried to do something similar before?
Does anyone know of a button remapper app that works with Android TV 8.0?
Thanks!
Hello,
I am looking for a solution in outputting audio from the Nvidia Shield to my older Denon DRA-F107 receiver, which is connected to my passive stereo speakers. My TV is a LG 60PK990.
The receiver has only analog inputs in the back:

And a jack input in the front (right bottom corner):

The TV has the following connectors:

The TV has no settings, where I can choose to output only audio via analogue composite.
After researching the issue, I found that I have (primarily) two options:
My questions are now:
a) What would you recommend out of these two options? Which route offers the best sound?
b) Also: If I choose Option 1), would I be able to play sound files from my Android mobile phone without turning the TV on?
c) What is more expensive: Getting a HDMI extractor or getting a small DAC?
d) Are there other options which I am missing now and can be recommended?
Thank you for your time!
